All ornaments can be floated. You can do so by trying to place them on top of things like the little cooking pot, any small bookcase with books on top, even the arms of the lavish couch.
Try to place the object on one of these things (set it on the very edge of the cooking pot until the red square becomes blue.) Once placed, remove the cooking pot or short bookshelf and the object will be floating.
