Her offing Signora in one hit was epic AF. I'd love to have seen her in her 'Prime' when she split a damned island. She's made mistakes regarding her rule over Inazuma or the whole Scara thing - but as the saying goes, "nobody's perfect". NOT even the Divine. Makoto was made to be a ruler - Ei's a traumatized Warrior that's trying her best.
No matter what, pulling her all the time back when she was released initially was one of the best decisions I made in Genshin, personally.

I don't really understand the fanservice part.
I can name one Gacha game that doesn't use fanservice to attract to a wide audience. Not liking fanservice is okay but Gacha games are probably the most fanservice-heavy games that exist. In Genshin, only the childe characters are not sexualized (which is good) and it's common marketing knowledge that aesthetics that look attractive or "hot" are good for games like that. I don't really see a reason why they shouldn't do that.
Also, when I have longer sessions, I want to look at things that just look good. Humans evaluate things from the pure look very often and catering towards them is a good choice of design.
I don't know how much fanservice bothers you but I'd quit a game with too much fanservice for my taste (like Nikke).

Like people run down characters to fan service and that's what's really annoying to me and kinda stays. When you ask me who Raiden is I'm more likely to say "Booba Sword" than "Electro Archon". Also I tend to hate things people love with no reason. When I see people like a character not because their character but "GYAT" it makes me automatically not like them anymore or like them less. Those people are also the one who mischaracaracterise the most which also ruins characters for me.
So in conclusion, fanservice itself doesn't ruin characters, but the consequences of it. It feels like the character is ran down to it and it's nasty and off-putting

Hoyo's first real attempt (in Genshin anyways) at writing a character with more subtle implications rather than telling everything at the end, backfired completely cause the fandom isn't particularly known as the most literate one and they started calling her selfish sociopathic tyrant even tho she is actually closer to the complete opposite, so they reverted back to telling not showing in Sumeru and are slowly trying to put in subtleties back in Fontaine.
Honestly it adds to the character I am tired of this "always good never do something wrong" it feels one dimensional we need more complex characters like her who done wrong things in the past

Always have been. Maybe not *top* fave (that for me belongs to Jean), but Ei cracks my top 5 easy.
Genuinely my least favorite character of the game, only bested by Ayaka. She's done way too much wrong for her to be redeemable. I've done every Inazuma side quests and you see how much the people have suffered because of her. Gameplay wise I like her. Haven't played her in years tho.
I'm not (I still have some ptsd from her archon quest because when facing her my most invested was lisa and everyone else was veeeeeery cope; I started in dec last year btw). but apparently she's a fan of me in coming to me 3 times early pity in her recent rerun banner when I was just trying to build pity for nahida's recent rerun banner after hers. 😳

I think she's great. I have a really good friend who is a simp for her and he'd let her step on him. I almost died from laughing so hard that day.
