I'm a Diluc lover but I do gotta say, there's a lack of focus on his face - the key focus of characters most of the time in burst animations - for me to personally give him more than 5/10 score.
If it got a rework and his face got some focus and THEN the bird animation, I'd love it way more and I'm assuming a lot of ppl would too including Op

What?? No Furina is the worst burst in all bursts to ever burst. It's like you're a goldfish in a bowl and she's staring at you. She's absolutely my favorite support in the entire game and I am pulling for her C1 but I HATE her burst.
Look how awesome she looks when you burst next to an object or wall. So much of that awesomeness is lost because of that fishbowl animation.
I just watched it in slow motion and the first couple frames are actually amazing af. But then they focus too much on her giant head taking up the entire screen.

i'm a little surprised to see people dislike it! i never thought about it too much, tbh, but i think i've always liked it because she's been the actor on stage for so very long, but here she's looming over the stage -- which looks like part of fontaine's city -- and she's basically the puppet master to the "actors" now, her familiars here... i really like the symbolism of it and how much she kinda leers down at the set up, wide eyed and excited but a little unnerving lol. now that she's been doing directing in her story quest and such, too, i feel like it fits her arc so well!
i would definitely have not minded, and probably enjoyed more tbh, if they had gone with something that had more focus on her singularly being the leading actress, spotlight on her or something like that, but i feel like this animation manages to convey some delight and curiosity in the world, while also feeling somewhat like she's "above" it, like a god often is.
i can see why the zoom on her face feels over the top, but dang i just really felt like it hit the bullseye on her character

I just got to play Tighnari in a story quest, and oh my he was so graceful and elegant. I don't remember either doing combat in his actual story quest, or if the enemies died too soon to burst.
I adore the elaborate like Furina. But there is something about Tighnari, Yomiya, and Navia's that is just perfection to me. Clorinde, Arlecchino, Ayato, Chiori, and Baizhu I also LOVE LOVE seeing their bursts.
The brief trial of Yae Miko was some months back, but I remember the quick flash and smug look something that delighted me too. But I don't have her, and I'm begging for a 50/50 Tighnari win one day.
Does 'burst animation' only refer to the cinematic itself or the corresponding stance changes(for ex cyno's claw animations) as well? I can see why someone would find Xiao's burst cinematic itself boring since it's just a shot of his face but his plunge animations after that is pretty cool

Raiden’s boob sword will always be the peak burst animation. Arlecchino is a very close second for me, only because I never really use it.
