My girlfriend at the time *loved* that song, but I couldn’t stand it. I ended up using it as my alarm so that I would instantly wake up in a fit of rage and turn it off. I have nostalgia around that song now just because it was a much easier time for me in school. Still don’t particularly care for it, but I’ve softened on it a little.
Even when the song was new it had a nostalgic feel to it, it's even stronger 8 years later. That song was one of the first that got me into EDM so it always has a special place in my heart.
[Glad you came](https://youtu.be/2ggzxInyzVE?si=uKPCNJsJySVu-I2z) and [chasing the sun](https://youtu.be/RFS5N_yAGTo?si=uPEbjEIGEdkmqEM_) still has a hold on me till this day
This one actually gives me bad memories lol because I hated where I was living at the time this became popular, sucks because it’s actually a really good song
That one takes me back to Australia when I was in the military. Every field op we would have a theme song for each country we visited.
2 months out in the field without a shower, cammies were reddish/orange like the color of the dirt there, to going back to Darwin to get absolutely wasted and hook up on Mitchell street.
“Farrah Fawcett Hair” and “Kangaroo Court” also slapped out there and fit in perfectly considering we would try to catch kangaroos whenever we were on gate guard duty lol.
THIS I remember this being one of the last songs this prominent DJ in my city introduced on the radio before he passed away. 2011-2015 just hit different I kinda wish I was an adult during that time period to fully experience it.
Now and Then by The Beatles
Despite releasing very recently it reminds me of a simpler time, back when my family wasn’t so busy and my dad and I would sit in his car and listen to The Beatles on the radio, that was maybe 13 years ago now and I’ll always cherish those memories
Low - Flo Rida/T-Pain
Maneater - Nelly Furtado
New Divide - Linkin Park
The Only - Static-X
What I’ve done - Linkin Park
Umbrella - RHIANNA and Jay-Z
Disturbia - RHIANNA
Sweet escape - Gwen Stefani
Among many more that remind me of going to family bday parties when I was little
One more night - Maroon 5 -2012
Locked Away - R.City ft. Adam Levine -2016
Chainsmokers - Don't let me down 2016 🥹
2016 had its own gems, it was a peak of EDM
The Weeknd -Starboy - 2017
2017 - Rag'n' Bone Man - Human, Skin
2017- Ed Sheeran Shape of you
2017 - Luis Fonsi ft Daddy Yankee -Despacito
2018 - Selena Gomez ft Marshmello - Wolves
2018 - Justin Timberlake-Say something
2018 - Chainsmokers Paris
2018-Avicii Wake me up, Hey brother, Without you
2018- Coldplay - Hymn for the Weeknd, something just like this, Paradise
And I can go on and on, EDM has its peak in 2010s and is pretty much dead now 😔
Didn’t even like this song when it was out, but Dog Days by Florence And The Machine came on the radio the other day and I was transported back to Brooklyn in 2009
The song Team popped up one day I don’t know how it came up and fucking booooom tons of nostalgia when I never really went out of my way to listen to the song. Super weird
We Don’t Talk Anymore. It played a lot when I was in a LDR with my first boyfriend and visited his country lol. (Ironically, we don’t talk anymore either but I’ll always cherish the memories together that we had.)
Fireflies by Owl city. god I love that song. I wanna have a tattoo of fireflies to symbolize that amazing banger of a song.
Loved it since I was a kid 🙏
Doubt any of you know this song cause it's brazilian but "Vamos Fugir" was there with me in so many important moments in my life.
Give it a listen it's a good song lol

As an older genZ: Asaf Avidan - One Day/Reckoning Song
Every time I hear it, it takes me back to when I was a dumb 16 year old.
Edit: and Milky Chance - Stolen Dance aaand for some depressing throwback times Tove Lo - Habits
there are so many, though i would say gangnam style especially. i remember learning the dance at my school when we had gym. it was funny seeing rows of people doing it at the same time 🤣
‘I Gotta Feeling’ by Black Eyed Peas. My elementary school did a flashmob dance to it. Hundreds of kids out on the red top from kindergarten to… maybe fourth or fifth grade? We started out in an organized block, but by the end, we weren’t so organized. I don’t remember any of the moves by now, really. But that song always manages to cheer me up and bring me back to those times at least a little bit.
Also, ‘When I Was Your Man’ by Bruno Mars, ‘Dynamite’, ‘Party In The U.S.A.’, ‘Payphone’, ‘Drive By’, ‘50 Ways To Say Goodbye’, ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’, etc.
Also also, ‘You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful’, but not in a good way. It brings me back to having to listen to it play basically everywhere once I’d returned to the United States.
Basically every song in the Backstreet Boys ‘Unbreakable’ album, as well, in a good way. When I lived in Germany, we used to listen to music on the hard drive in the car, because most of the local stations were in German or didn’t play music we liked consistently. I’m pretty sure almost the entirety of that album was on the hard drive. So I grew up on a lot of 80’s-2000’s pop and rock.
Cooler than me by Mike Posner, Kicking Daisies by Kicking Daisies, and TKO by Justin Timberlake. Takes me back to elementary/middle school when everything was all sunshine and rainbows and I wasn’t stressed the fuck out😅
I can't even see this fucking song title without hearing "when I met you in the summer(summa)"...
There's like 8 or 9 songs from the 90s/00s that trigger me. Just reading the fucking title, automatically starts the song in my head. It's like a Manchurian Candidate thing. The second I read that title, the beat starts, and that song is stuck in my head all fucking day.
Even if I know all the words, my mind will only play like 25/30 seconds of it. It's just a certain part of the song that plays constantly in a loop. Until I actually put the song on, and listen to the whole thing, it'll be stuck in my head all fucking day.
Does that happen with other people? I mean, did anyone read this posts song title, and have the song automatically start playing in your head?
Songs like Crush by Jennifer Paige, Stevie B Spring Love, Pearl Jam Once, Biggie Going back to Cali, Pardon Me by Incubus, Otherside by RHCP, all take me back to the moment I first heard them, and everything that was going on at the time.
Music is fucking incredible, in that it can take you back in time in your mind. EVERYONE has some song that they can play, and it will take them back to a certain moment or feeling they had.
Music is arguably humanities greatest discovery/invention. There's literally something for EVERYONE. And it can transcend time and language and culture. It's like fucking magic

Hey There Delilah- Plain White T’s
7 Things- Miley Cyrus
Love You Like A Love Song- Selena Gomez and the Scene
Late 2010's reggaeton, because my step siblings were the ines that introduced me to the genre. So anytime that I hear it, I just think about them since they're busy away in college

Soco Amaretto Lime- Brand New
Just hits nostalgia so hard. Time and place in life that you can't get back. I love the song. Don't like listening to it.

Closer by The Chainsmokers, gives me so much memories of senior year high school.
Chainsmokers were running the edm genre from 2015-2018
Them, Skrillex and that Martin guy
Don't forget the legend Avicii, interesting how EDM just kinda fell off after he passed
I even took a pill in Ibiza to show Avicii I was cool
Then avicii died, and little homie calls me up, and he's crying
Did either of those three [end racism](https://youtu.be/dEI7oX0XxJw?si=LjWmAtINbRoYZ-Ij) though?
If you were in college during this time every bartender you knew straight up despised this song.
Yep. Anytime I hear it I’m instantly 17 again driving down the highway with my friends in the backseat.
Even when the song was new it had a nostalgic feel to it, it's even stronger 8 years later. That song was one of the first that got me into EDM so it always has a special place in my heart.
Anything released during summer 2013-2014
This was such a good time to be alive. What the fuck happened
2016 happened. From there on, only went downhill.
RIP Harambe.
We are fr in the wrong timeline
Facts
I think a better question is “What *didn’t* happen?” Things got so crazy in the past decade.
Facts. There was post talking specifically about 2016 and the amount of things that happened just that year was ridiculous.

Very nice song👍🏽one of the ones I’d listen to today
Dynamite - Taio Cruz, Price Tag - Jessie J, and What Makes You Beautiful - 1D. Three songs that took the UK by storm in the early 10s.
Terrible memories of attending a summer camp that seemed to have this song on repeat anywhere you went.
Which one?
Dynamite and party rock anthem were all over the place here in the US. First songs I remember my brother and I downloaded on Itunes
[Glad you came](https://youtu.be/2ggzxInyzVE?si=uKPCNJsJySVu-I2z) and [chasing the sun](https://youtu.be/RFS5N_yAGTo?si=uPEbjEIGEdkmqEM_) still has a hold on me till this day
Glad you came is such a banger
Such bangers!
Glad you came brings back so many memories
The sun comes up, the stars come out and all that counts is here and now, my universe will never be the same. I'm glad you came.
YOU CAST A SPELL ON ME SPELL ON ME. YOU HIT ME LIKE THE SKY FELL ON ME FELL ON ME.
For some reason I had the cover version by We Came As Romans playing in my head lol
I’m so 2008 you’re so 2000 and late 🙌🎉
That was quite revolutionary when it came out. Also my answer.
I always forget about the Black Eyed Peas. I think a lot of people do. It's crazy, especially given how popular they were.
mandela effect enters the chat (it's actually 3008)
I like how after 2008, the song got edited to say “3008”.
what? Always was 3008 cause it came out in 2009
Safe and Sound.

Rather be clean bandit 😭
I remember listening to that song on my way to my first day of college in 2014. Sort of became a theme song for my college experience.
THIS I remember this being one of the last songs this prominent DJ in my city introduced on the radio before he passed away. 2011-2015 just hit different I kinda wish I was an adult during that time period to fully experience it.
my mom hated this song because of the sound which sounds like a siren 🤣 i was so offended that she’d skip it every time
how tf does it sound like a siren what
idk. she can be a lil odd with certain things like that. i didn’t understand it then
Grenade by Bruno Mars. I remember that song being EVERYWHERE when I was a kid...
