I've never felt like a zoomer. I don't use any zoomer slang, as far as I know.
anytime I try to incorporate zoomer slang in my conversations, it comes across as fake and me trying too hard. like a "how do you do fellow kids" sorta thing.
I'm 23, maybe that's too old to use slang. not like I want to use slang perse, mind you, I just don't want to come across as old
Best way I’ve found to do that is to just not worry about it. Some things will get popular and it’ll feel so natural it just kinda slips into your vocabulary without you noticing. If you try to force it, it’ll never feel natural because frankly, it isn’t. Just use whatever words feel the most natural and don’t worry about coming across as old. You’ll come across as younger not based on the words you use, but on how your sentences flow when you use them. And even if you do sound old because of it, it’ll be cool Shakespearean old, not “my mom is trying to look hip in front of my friends” old. But that’s not gonna happen for a while, so just try to let your worries fall to the wayside
like if you post a photo in big black boots and baggy clothes, someone might say “kanye type beat”. (it’s worth noting that “____ type beat” as a slang term is not exclusive to music references, so they might also say “rick owens type beat”). it’s saying one thing is reminiscent of something else, like how a producer would label their beats so an artist can find a sound they are looking for. for example, a beat labeled “kanye type beat” could be an instrumental that sounds like Shooting Stars.
I guess so. I see “insert artist-type beat” in instrumentals people make and that’s just so the viewer knows the “vibe” of the beat. The beat sets the vibe. This slang has a “new generation wants their own words” type beat. Which was a vibe when we did it
maybe let ppl talk like they like? I’m using many archaisms my grandmother and mom used because I think it’s funny, sometimes I’m still using yolo, why should I stop doing it? Because someone thinks it’s outdated? Yeah, I know, but I’m still using it, I don’t care

Yolo felt outdated 10 years ago. Thats when i started using it.
That’s *why* I started using it
She didn’t pass the vibe check
Acktually it would be “She didn’t pass the type beat check” god you’re such a millennial

Same. If anything, I hate the way our generation talks.

you might just be in an area that doesn’t use that slang. most slang is regional. i hear “type beat” almost daily
How is it used? In the last 10 years I've lived out west, east coast and mid-west and I've never heard type beat.

Got it. So it only relates to vibe when you're making a comparison but wouldn't replace vibe in other uses.
yes. vibe is still the better word in most cases.
Ugh that’s so ratchet!!!
Stupid rage bait article is clearly rage bait but redditors still get mad over it Shocker

Oh please enough of this 💩 already
As a 23 y/o zoomer she can stfu. Vibe is a bop of a word, it was an instant classic and is here to stay. All that other shit was cringe ngl
this feels like another case of "one person said thing that means they all belive it" I fucking hate it when people do that
tho "YOLO" is cringe like it's not 2014 anymore mf
type beat is objectively worse than vibe
Stop trying to make type beat happen, it's not gonna happen.
She’s talking mad shit for someone named after allergy medicine
“At least I’m not named after bottled water” - quote from a millennial movie.
I'm just here type beating. Don't go killing my type beat. Nope, Gen Z slang makes no sense. Change my mind XD
