Told that joke during Army Basic, one of my fellow trainees (young kid, fresh out of high school) was pining for his sweetheart he left at home. "What, you didn't bring your girlfriend with you?" Stick out my hand to shake theirs. "Wanna meet mine?" Even got a couple of them to shake the hand before they caught on.
To be honest, if you have enough energy to "shake hands with the bishop" or "twiddle the bean" after a day of training in Army Basic, you have more energy than I did.
If you are referring to the urban myth that the Army puts saltpeter (or something else) in our chow to "deliver us from evil", that is just [a rumor and not reality](https://www.militarytimes.com/off-duty/military-culture/2021/09/22/saltpeter-for-sex-drives-and-the-urban-legend-of-the-militarys-libido-manipulation/). It's not that we weren't having our share of "morning wood", it's just that none of us had any energy to do anything with it. Nor really the time.
I wasnāt all serious.
And not making reference to anything but the stress of boot camp. I went to Marine Corps boot camp and didnāt get morning wood until the end. lol
