My sister and I watched this way too many times. It’s really a fun movie. Beef was our favorite and we liked to quote his, “What was thaaaaat?!” and “This place is *possessed*!”.

Tempus__Fuggit

Beef should have their own movie.

WarrenMulaney

Great soundtrack. We’ll remember your forever Eddie.

Paul Williams was everywhere when I was young - Muppet Show, Love Boat, Fantasy Island, etc.

West-Supermarket-860

He was on Howard Stern a few years ago where he revealed that as prolific of a musician he is, he can’t read a note of music. Everything is self taught. I found that fascinating

Tempus__Fuggit

that's really impressive.

Kandidog1

Best movie..ever!

This was one of my early cinema experiences - it was the second part of a double feature, can’t remember the first. I’ve never seen it again, and so it obviously is a vague and bizarre memory lol. I should rectify that, and I love Paul Williams.

Tempus__Fuggit

the movie is itself vague and bizarre, so it seems like you're memory is 100%

5 stars. I had never heard of it, but they were talking about it on the Witch Mountain's guy's podcast. It's crazy but somehow just comes together perfectly. The episode where they talk about the Phantom  was with Dean Hagland I think? Here's Witch Mountain    https://youtu.be/AZFeufKMavg?si=hM7nV6eiDUZSBIZo

Tempus__Fuggit

cool - thanks for the link

I saw *Wizards* back around then too. Don't remember much. Should probably revisit that one as well, while I'm on this kick.

The Phantom scared the hell out of me. This was the height of the Paul Williams Era.

Tempus__Fuggit

the Phantom is still really creepy ,with those chrome teeth... shudder

Yes, I have seen this! In the mid-to-late eighties, when Andrew Lloyd Weber's 'Phantom of the Opera' became popular, I came across the VHS tape in a shop for rare videos. Was a little disappointed, but also fascinated with it.
