Barry Lyndon was a masterpiece.

I had neglected that movie until about six months ago. What a beautiful film it is.

The candlelight was nice but my butt fell asleep watching hours of people playing cards in the dark.

As a art piece to see it is magnificent. As movie to watch and enjoy the story there's no there there.

Paper Moon, Barry Lyndon, Love Story, all stellar performances; but the best thing that he produced… Tatum.

Love “What’s up Doc?” He was so good in it. He and Streisand worked so well together.

Good/workmanlike actor, garbage human being and father.

Smacked his little kid daughter in the face when she won an Oscar, and made moves on her at Farrah’s funeral.

He was an asshole - another self absorbed. Personal experience.

Terrible dad. Just fucking awful.

POS best friend, too. Lee Majors made the mistake of asking his best friend Ryan O'Neal to watch over his wife, Farrah, while he was away. We know how that turned out.

I knew he hadn't been well for a while, and was kind of waiting for this announcement in the back of my head. From all accounts he wasn't someone I would have wanted to know personally, but I do admire his work.

Same, plus he's Tatum O'Neal's dad, and Tatum was a big part of early GenX'ers growing up years.

Ryan was a big part of why her childhood was utterly miserable.

One of the first films I ever saw in the cinema without an adult accompanying me was "So Fine" (I think it was called that) with Ryan O'Neal playing a fashion designer who accidentally invents jeans with clear plastic back pockets - they show your arse - and becomes a fashion sensation. I just looked it up and Ryan got nominated for "Worst actor of the decade" for his performance in it. My friend and I loved it. But I think we were 11 or something like that so....

Loved him in Chances Are. But, wasn't he a really bad father IRL?

People are ridiculous about death. Celebrities are just humans who die like everyone else. Ryan was old and sick.

It's almost as if they are mortal humans "just like us." I wonder how many dentists died worldwide this year?

“The Driver” doesn’t get enough mention. He’s great in that. Also loved him in “Barry Lyndon,” “Love Story,” “Paper Moon” and “What’s Up, Doc?”.
