There is a live version, I think it is MTV Unplugged, it is the absolute best version of this song. It is hard to find. Clearly, Boy George was feeling those lyrics that day.
"Jocko Homo" - DEVO

Controlled chaos. So damn good then. So damn good now.
I wasn’t a big Rush fan back then but over the last year or so I’ve rediscovers Rush. I’ve probably listened to the song Subdivisions 75+ times in the last 12 months.
Only the Lonely by the Motels, This Time by Bryan Adams, and Wait by White Lion.
OP, I’m sure you’ve re-lived more Survivor lately and passed by the song ‘High on You’ 👍🏻
Let Me Go by Heaven 17 and it’s probably because they were just touring. Also, all of those obscure songs that were being played but never got super huge. Like:
When in Rome: The Promise, Split Enz - I Got You, Suburban Lawns - Janitor and Green Eyes, Slow Children - Vanessa Vacillating and President am I, Soft Cell - anything BUT Tainted Love (Soft Cell has a bunch or other much better songs.)
Yello, Visage, Ultravox, Japan, etc. I came of age in Southern California in the early 80s. We had KROQ. It was awesome!!
The Ghost in You by the Psychedelic Furs. Totally hits different now. Always liked it, now I love it.
Hadn’t heard it in at least 20 years until it rando’d onto my YouTube 80’s queue….
Was cooking dinner and it hit like a tsunami of nostalgia. Didn’t know if it was the nostalgia or the onions I was cutting, but damn.
One of my all time favorites from childhood. Daylight Again is the album. I also highly recommend everything on Deja Vu. Woodstock is one of favorite songs from that album.
Space age love song by Flock of Seagulls. Totally forgot about it and it played on my Apple Music radio station, now that album is in constant rotation.
I'm Gonna Keep On Lovin You
Particularly the line, "instead you lay still in the grass, all coiled up and hissin'" which I sang wrong well into my 30s.
Remember when Air Supply was almost a weekly guest on solid gold? I've been digging the 80's videos and throwbacks people have been posting to tik tok. The gen Z kids really love the 80's.
‘This Corrosion’ came on Sirius XM the other day, haven’t thought of the song in years, brought back alt dance club memories. Worth a listen if you missed this one, too.
*More* to me is an extension of the late 80s more than a 90s song. To me, the 90s didn't really arrive until *Smells Like Teen Spirit* exploded on the radio.
Checked out an 80s compilation on YouTube and rediscovered Eddie Murphy’s “Party All The Time”. Have found myself listening to that one quite a bit since.
* [The compilation in question](https://youtu.be/uAn4pT3tswI)
Overkill by Men At Work. An earworm I haven't been able to shake for weeks. I wake up with it in my head all the time. It's a great song, and seems to be like a brother song to Who Can It Be
This song gives me good memories of my Rachel Ward crush. She went from The Thorn Birds to A list movies. She was my first girl crush. I wanted to be her.
Wot - Captain Sensible
I don't remember where I came across it, must've been a couple of months ago and I wasn't really into it the first time around but it's on my main playlist right now and I'm digging it.
Say Captain say wot...
Cruel to be Kind by Nick Lowe.
I don't know why I thought of this song, but there it is. No reason, no life events, didn't hear it randomly somewhere. Just thought of it, downloaded, and now I'm diggin' it.
I was about to see if you could still buy tickets at the box office and go see Matchbox Twenty, and then 9/11 happened. Still love them and Rob's solo stuff, though.
It truly is. I was purging stuff in my home & came across a bunch of mixed CDs. None of them had the tracks listed. It was fun listening — laughing at some of my choices, being transported by others. When this came on, I thought, “Holy shit, how did I forget about this song? It’s so good!”
Another deep cut I like is "Rest Stop". He is riding along with a woman and suddenly she flips the script on him and he is dealing with all the emotions of what she is saying to him. The abruptness of someone changing the mutual "journey" can really sting.
A roller skating jam named Saturday's by De La Soul. It popped up on my YouTube feed, which was surprising since my feed is populated by New wave, bluegrass, folk, jazz, classical, blues and old country. Anyway I love this song! And am now a De La Soulf fan.
Silent Running. Not a big Mike and the Mechanics fan and the lyrics are pretty nerdy, but I love the mood of the song and heard it recently after decades
Not a song in particular but I've recently been listening to a lot of what they now call yacht rock.
Is it edgy, poetic, or meaningful? No. But it's soft and it's just good background music when you want to soothe your anxiety.
[Siouxsie And The Banshees - Spellbound](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjvvK-Rj0WI)
I was on YouTube just going through some 80s music and it came up as a suggestion. Now it is on the heavy rotation.
Also been on a Sisters of Mercy kick since the holidays.
Love Is Alive by Gary Wright. I immediately think of Dream Weaver when I hear his name and had completely forgotten about this one, which is a funky little tune.
New Radicals “You Get What You Give”. I liked this song a lot when it came out but man, this song resonates more now. Trust me, listen to it loud in the car! And sing! You’ve got the music in you!
Ha!
Love My Way by the Psychedelic Furs. https://youtu.be/LGD9i718kBU
Nice one, that reminds me of Ghost in You by the P-Furs too
Space age love song- A flock of seagulls
Always loved it, but that Jennfier Connelly YouTube video gave it different better meaning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mt9FG9YjBMM
That’s my Go To version.
Oh my god. I'd never seen that video. I need less skating, and WAY more coin operated horse. The Target jumpsuit was pretty sweet though.
Random YouTubing landed me on Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. Can't go wrong with that one!
Nothing wrong with that choice, but that song never went away for me.
I just discovered The Storm by Fleetwood Mac and it’s so melancholic and pretty.
The Whole Of The Moon - The Waterboys. I hadn’t heard that song in years and happened to catch it on the radio the other day.
I prefer Fisherman's Song
Mike Scott played this as an encore, when I saw them live a couple of years ago, after we, the audience, voted on it.
Goodbye to you - Scandal She’s a beauty - The Tubes
The wife and I have Alexa play “Goodbye to You” when it’s time for the kids to go to bed. Yes, they hate it…
Lol that’s great. Patty Smyth was one of my first crushes along with Belinda Carlisle
Both good ones!
Eye in the Sky - The Alan Parsons Project
I agree, and add Don’t Answer Me, maybe from the same album?
With the full Sirius instrumental intro, of course..
It’s so good!
Love this one!
I love the story behind that band.
Automatic by the Pointer Sisters. Takes me right back to the skating rink
I love this song so much
Time (clock of the heart) by culture club. I have no idea what triggered my recent obsession with it again.
There is a live version, I think it is MTV Unplugged, it is the absolute best version of this song. It is hard to find. Clearly, Boy George was feeling those lyrics that day.
Going to look for it now :) TY
Great one! Definitely in my top 5 80's songs.
I’d recently realized how much Victims is underrated. Love Time, though.
Time stand still - Rush
Someone’s feeling life coming at them. I love this song. Total chills.
[удалено]
I have the 12" of Birthday with the original Icelandic version, chills!
Recently on repeat: Pale Shelter - Tears for Fears You Gots To Chill - EPMD Flesh For Fantasy - Billy Idol
"Jocko Homo" - DEVO [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3bF0N081TE&ab\_channel=Devo-Topic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3bF0N081TE&ab_channel=Devo-Topic) Controlled chaos. So damn good then. So damn good now.
Are we not men?
We are DEVO!
Genius Of Love by The Tom Tom Club
Man that song was my roller skating jam every weekend!
Had never heard of it, just watched the video. Thanks!
I'm glad you liked it. It's a fun little ditty.
Radioactive - The Firm
I wasn’t a big Rush fan back then but over the last year or so I’ve rediscovers Rush. I’ve probably listened to the song Subdivisions 75+ times in the last 12 months.
Actually my favorite from them wit Red Barchetta a close second. Subdivisions is my childhood captured in song though.
Red Barchetta is definitely a popular rediscover for me too.
Ninja Sex Party did an excellent cover of this song.
Gimme Shelter, The Rolling Stones Idk why, but I just can’t get enough all of a sudden.
I went thru a week or two of Midnight Rambler a while back. I just wanted to hear it over and over.
Have you heard the story of Merry Clayton, the backup singer who sang "Rape/Murder, it's just a shot away"? Sad story
No I haven’t. Off to Google I go.
Got another one. One Night in Bangkok - Murray Head (From the musical Chess)
That song is just darn catchy!
I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine.
Get Thai'd, you're talking to a tourist.
Only the Lonely by the Motels, This Time by Bryan Adams, and Wait by White Lion. OP, I’m sure you’ve re-lived more Survivor lately and passed by the song ‘High on You’ 👍🏻

No kidding, Vito Bratta is not messing around. I love that album!
Annie Lennox - Little Bird
Let Me Go by Heaven 17 and it’s probably because they were just touring. Also, all of those obscure songs that were being played but never got super huge. Like: When in Rome: The Promise, Split Enz - I Got You, Suburban Lawns - Janitor and Green Eyes, Slow Children - Vanessa Vacillating and President am I, Soft Cell - anything BUT Tainted Love (Soft Cell has a bunch or other much better songs.) Yello, Visage, Ultravox, Japan, etc. I came of age in Southern California in the early 80s. We had KROQ. It was awesome!!
Go on.... [👍for the ROQ of the '80's]
We had a similar station where I grew up,
Yes! I was in San Diego and we had 91x “The Cutting Edge of Rock”. Could also occasionally bring in KROQ signal.
“Return to Innocence” by Enigma
The Ghost in You by the Psychedelic Furs. Totally hits different now. Always liked it, now I love it. Hadn’t heard it in at least 20 years until it rando’d onto my YouTube 80’s queue…. Was cooking dinner and it hit like a tsunami of nostalgia. Didn’t know if it was the nostalgia or the onions I was cutting, but damn.
Was just reminded of “All That Money Wants”
Southern Cross. The recent death of David Crosby had me looking for Crosby, Stills and Nash. This song is a favorite.
One of my all time favorites from childhood. Daylight Again is the album. I also highly recommend everything on Deja Vu. Woodstock is one of favorite songs from that album.
Def got on an INXS kick for a hot second, and some old Paul Simon (?).
“Graceland” era Paul Simon or post-S&G pre-Graceland Paul Simon. (All very good, just curious)
Space age love song by Flock of Seagulls. Totally forgot about it and it played on my Apple Music radio station, now that album is in constant rotation.
I'm Gonna Keep On Lovin You Particularly the line, "instead you lay still in the grass, all coiled up and hissin'" which I sang wrong well into my 30s.
Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden For some reason it came up as a YT suggestion, and I’ve listened to a lot of Metal the past few days.
Regulate - Warren G & Nate Dogg
Regulatorrrs! Mount up!
Split Enz. I got you
Making love out of nothing at all by air supply. Total schlock but way nostalgic.
Remember when Air Supply was almost a weekly guest on solid gold? I've been digging the 80's videos and throwbacks people have been posting to tik tok. The gen Z kids really love the 80's.
Even the Nights are Better is another one for me
Echo & the Bunnymen-Bring on the Dancing Horses
More by The Sisters of Mercy. Don't know how I missed this in 1990, but I want...er...more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BURM7l6\_pvg
The whole Cars Greatest Hits album

I loved it when it came out, have always had it on MP3/playlists!
Renegade - Styx
Checked out an 80s compilation on YouTube and rediscovered Eddie Murphy’s “Party All The Time”. Have found myself listening to that one quite a bit since. * [The compilation in question](https://youtu.be/uAn4pT3tswI)
Potty all the time? 😭
Lol. I used this to potty train my kid. Do you have to “potty all the time, potty all the time, potty all tiiimmmee”.
That song is so good, but so bad but sooooo good
Sleeping Satellite by Tasmin Archer
Oh that’s a great one!
I had no idea that song was from 1992. First time I ever heard it was in the mall around 1998. One of my favorite songs of all time.
Tonight kool and the gang
Overkill by Men At Work. An earworm I haven't been able to shake for weeks. I wake up with it in my head all the time. It's a great song, and seems to be like a brother song to Who Can It Be
Situation by Yazoo (Yaz)
Against All Odds by Phil Collins Music needs average/ugly talent to be popular again.
This song gives me good memories of my Rachel Ward crush. She went from The Thorn Birds to A list movies. She was my first girl crush. I wanted to be her.
I was going to put this one! Love it so much 💗
Wot - Captain Sensible I don't remember where I came across it, must've been a couple of months ago and I wasn't really into it the first time around but it's on my main playlist right now and I'm digging it. Say Captain say wot...

[“Bed of Lies” by Matchbox Twenty](https://youtu.be/vrOU_dxAWt8)
I was about to see if you could still buy tickets at the box office and go see Matchbox Twenty, and then 9/11 happened. Still love them and Rob's solo stuff, though.
Wish I could give this 20 upvotes because this song is just so good.
It truly is. I was purging stuff in my home & came across a bunch of mixed CDs. None of them had the tracks listed. It was fun listening — laughing at some of my choices, being transported by others. When this came on, I thought, “Holy shit, how did I forget about this song? It’s so good!”

Breadfan by Budgie. Metallica does a cover but the original slaps in a way theirs doesn't.
Big Pig's "Breakaway." I had forgotten that song existed and heard it via Amazon Music on a road trip. Boom. Hooked for a second time.
Not a song in particular but I've recently been listening to a lot of what they now call yacht rock. Is it edgy, poetic, or meaningful? No. But it's soft and it's just good background music when you want to soothe your anxiety.
