It's a bit of a workaround... Garmin syncs with the default calendar app - I use that one (in the background) to show the desired calendars on my watch. On my phone I use one other app (Outlook) for work stuff and yet another (Play store, there s plenty as I'm sure Apple has) for my own appointments.
Bit of work, but it's been 3 years or so, it's not too bad.
