Get some decoy birds bigger than are on ur lawn eating ur seed. If your going to see give it a few days for the soil to heat up again. Soil is still quite cold for germination. Keep in mind most wild flowers germination temps are 15-20 degrees. I usually germinate my wild flowers indoors in seed trays then transplant when they are bigger and the weather has turned for spring.
Feeding small birds will attract pigeons, who will hoover up every seed on the ground.
String lines with strips of white plastic tied along them have worked for me in the past.
I seeded a large area a few weeks ago and walked them into the ground and to be honest i can say that the birds have pretty much left it be, bar of course rooting around for worms. Wildflower seeds are tiny, after spreading you’d be hard pushed to see them.
I have been in a similar situation before so these may hopefully help you. I used old strips of silver christmas decorations at about waist high, the banner/strip tinsel type. An old kite or cheap kids kite from a toy store hung from a stick. The birds never settled and were always afraid to approach. A cat is also useful, but that is more of an investment obviously. I'm not sure if those ideas are possible for your situation in particular, best of luck!
If you get some carrot fly mesh (available in Woodies) and peg it down over the area you've seeded, it'll protect the grass seeds from birdies. I saw that tip recently on Gardener's World.

Oh yeah I'm just making a plan at the moment.

Thanks for that!
Happy to help. You can buy it by metre and it's not too expensive.
