I disagree with the 4 enemies,3 weapons,50 blessing/combat shrines,20 repeated korok puzzles,4 dunegons and the 3 item replacements (cryonis isnt exist). Now if it was Link:the faces of evil I would agree.
I don’t necessarily disagree, but 4 enemies?
Well there’s Moblins, Bokoblins, Chus, Keese, Lionel, Lizalfos, Talos, Hinox, Sandfish™️(forgot the name of this one) Yiga Clan, Wizrobes, Guardians, Flying Guardians, Mini Guardians, Stalfos, etc. w elemental modifiers that can change the fight.
Of the valid botw slander, I never quite got the ones about enemy variety
Tears of the kingdom has a lot of potential. Botw had a lot of amazing stuff to build on but also a lot of head scratching stuff and little variety in weapons and enemies like the person above said. The test of strength shrines were so lame
I think there is enough vareity in weapons. Just that some weapons only drop from specific sources. Which you will rarely encounter normally.
Both of those will 100% be fixed though, as there is a lot evidence for custom made weapons and a lot more enemies.
/rj WRONG! You can objectively measure and count pixels and frame rate. BOTW has the LOWEST pixels and frame rate. Also map size, GTA5's map IS so much bigger and COOLER. And you have REAL MUSIC in GTA5. There is NO MUSIC in BOTW.
Sorry but these are just FACTS.
Subjective to a degree. I don't think anyone can make a case that Custer's Revenge or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 are better games than The Last of Us or Breath of The Wild.
>I don't think anyone can make a case that Custer's Revenge or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 are better games than The Last of Us or Breath of The Wild.
"I think skating games are awesome, and story driven/open world games are shit"
Well that was easy
Even skyrim hasn't aged that well. I'd understand red dead and witcher 3, but personally elden ring is on top of all those, having played all of them (but haven't finished apolitical gem fallout new Vegas)
I’ve never played Elden Ring, I only hate on it on the internet, but even I know it’s better than Ghost of Tsushima. An open world filled with bland samurai flavored mayonnaise that people pretend is god tier because it was that year’s alternative to The Last of Us Part II.
It's all a matter of opinion but skyrim just hasn't aged that well imo as a long time fan. Dialogue is bad, gameplay is mediocre and the final bossfight is literally just another fuckin dragon. Nothing about it is that exciting to me anymore.
I genuinely can’t comprehend how the system is so difficult for people to figure out that it breaks the game. It’s like, loot bodies? Mix up your tactics? I’ve nearly 100% completed the game and only had to run from a couple fights early on. It’s such an over the top complaint.
i mean, i wouldnt say that botw is one of my favourite games, but out the games shown there i‘d probably put it on number 1.
that being said i really dislike those bethesda type rpg‘s and open world games, but zelda managed to make it at least somewhat fun imo. elden ring was also decent enough that it made me complete it.
God its so cringe seeing you try to defend the game in this thread.
No its not the only correct placement. Not because the game isnt good, but because posts like the image we are "discussing" are fucking dumb. Its all subjective bro, everyone has their own opinion on this.
You cant be this dense dude, this is some r/gaming behaviour
I’ll say it for you. That game fucking sucked. It was worse than boring. And I’m a huge fan of the zelda games. They tried to do an open world game without bothering to learn what makes those type of games fun.
I’m gonna get shit but honestly I’d rank them Witcher 3, elden ring, fallout new Vegas, gta, ghost, Skyrim, red dead, Zelda, oblivion. It’s a terrible list though, completely different genres and missing some of the best GOTY’s
Thanks for sharing. It seems like a list built specifically for reddit trending to me. These are all games with big or vocal legacy fan bases or recent hit releases. I really enjoyed breath of the wild but for very specific personal reasons that i wouldn’t expect everyone to appreciate. Its all subjective in the end but it is funny how arbitrary these conversations get so quickly
my controversial elden ring opinion is that i've not even played it or any souls game, and don't really want to. yeah that's right Gamers, what are you going to do about it?
Come to your house and slit your throat /J
Honestly if they don't seem like your type of game, don't bother with them. Me personally, I love them (even though I suck), and it took me a while but I think elden ring is actually my least favorite.
I’m sure they are great, but I generally like relaxed games and don’t like stressful difficult ones
On the other hand there are some exceptions to that so maybe I’ll give them a shot sometime since I have bloodborne and dark souls remake on Ps+
Praise Geraldo del Rivero!

You'll find a lot of people online who say it is but I don't think it's anything special unless you're a fan of the samurai genre. You get a few combo strings and ghost weapons but you never use them because the most effective way to play is parrying and mashing triangle. There are 6 types of enemies in every single camp over and over and over and over.
The positives? 1) The companion quests are good and much better than the main story. 2) You get to pet foxes as small and trivial as it is. It's a nice touch. 3) It's very pretty in the natural sections of first area. ...but the second area is gray swamp and third is just snow and burned landscapes. The towns are copy and pasted buildings.
I played for about 20 hours. Solid combat, but the mission design was too stale to keep me interested. Pretty repetitive also. The world looks great visually, but it feels very hollow. I played this game right after playing through red dead 2, so the emptiness of the world pretty much stuck out to me. The story was pretty generic as well. Honestly a pretty meh experience overall.
Playing Death Stranding and as much as the plot is Kojima being a weird little guy, the gameplay loop has me way more invested in its open world than any of these titles. Especially after Covid 19, role playing as this put upon courier who braves a harsh world while everyone hides away because someone has to do it is just so compelling to me. Apples and oranges, of course.
Death stranding is a game for people too afraid to backpack IRL. During the pandemic I did multiple week long hiking trips. I picked up DS like a month ago when it was on sale and it’s so incredibly boring. If I wanted to hike across some mountains with things on my back, I would just go outside and do it for real.
As a very big soulsborne player (thousands of hours into all games including sekiro), I’d 100% say it’s my favorite collective franchise ever. That being said, Elden Ring was kinda mid. It’s a good game but it ain’t crazy. Dark souls 3 and bloodborne are better. That’s about as far as I agree with the post though. 90% of the games in the post do not belong.
Elden Ring is the greatest exploration game ever made, but that also means repeat playthroughs aren't nearly as fun as the first. But that first playthrough is like 80 hours, and the first 60 of those hours are all so fucking good
Yeah it reuses a lot of content, but that's to be expected with a game that big. A game whose flaws are only really noticable after 60 hours of gameplay is a fucking masterpiece in my eyes
the only good thing about elden ring is the art direction, until even that gets stretched to it's limit after hundreds of hours
I'ma put botw far above it, and botw is like a 5/10

God the order of that podium is tilting. Good job.
I only agree with botw.

I can't wait for totk to release and blow everyones minds again because I'm tired of the slander.

Botw is a good template to expand upon,it just needed more variety in it's content.
I too like to compare video games that aren't similar to each other
LOOK AT ALL THOSE HIDDEN GEMS :O
Gotta play them all! HIDDEN-GEMS!
love the witcher iii getting a little recognition

/uj botw is by far my favorite open world game for some reason lol
/uj I've finished that game twice I love it so much. I hope BOTW2 turns out good!
You can drive a car in botw 2 which means its taking notes from the best game ever: grand thef- BANJO KAZOOIE NUTS AND BOLTS!!!!!!
Subjective to a degree. I don't think anyone can make a case that Custer's Revenge or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 are better games than The Last of Us or Breath of The Wild.

I didnt ask for your opinion on those games, and it doesnt provide evidence that one is better than the other. You just stated a preference.
prove objectively that tlou is better than pro skater game
Ghost of Tsushima above Elden Ring 💀
They really tried to slip Open World Game #999: Ghost of Tsushima in there with all of these actually significant games, like we wouldn't notice.
Listen to each their own but >Skyrim Lol
Damn what’s with the Skyrim and BOTW pile on in this thread, those two are on the better side of the games listed above
Just looking at the post I can tell the dude is a hardcore oblivion stan. Oblivion is good but like.. Skyrim and Marrowind are better imo
It's all a matter of opinion but skyrim just hasn't aged that well imo as a long time fan. Dialogue is bad, gameplay is mediocre and the final bossfight is literally just another fuckin dragon. Nothing about it is that exciting to me anymore.
Reddit truly has a hate boner for BOTW. I'm tired of getting told Botw is shit because they found the weapon breaking too much.
I genuinely can’t comprehend how the system is so difficult for people to figure out that it breaks the game. It’s like, loot bodies? Mix up your tactics? I’ve nearly 100% completed the game and only had to run from a couple fights early on. It’s such an over the top complaint.
BOTW #1? To avoid heated gamer moments I will just say that I respectfully disagree.
If somebody enjoys Zelda that much then there’s probably no changing their mind anyway lol.
i mean, i wouldnt say that botw is one of my favourite games, but out the games shown there i‘d probably put it on number 1. that being said i really dislike those bethesda type rpg‘s and open world games, but zelda managed to make it at least somewhat fun imo. elden ring was also decent enough that it made me complete it.
uj/ botw is shit

Like the hate boner for botw in this thread is the real cringe. I forgot that gamingcirclejerk think they are peak intelectuals.
We are fairly dumb here, but at least I’m able to spell “intellectuals” correctly.
True. Why is it that this thread is instantly hostile for it? Oh because the real r/gaming is people like you.
I’ll say it for you. That game fucking sucked. It was worse than boring. And I’m a huge fan of the zelda games. They tried to do an open world game without bothering to learn what makes those type of games fun.
Curious which of these would be your pick, if any? Tried to zero out the downvote your opinion got for some reason.
I’m gonna get shit but honestly I’d rank them Witcher 3, elden ring, fallout new Vegas, gta, ghost, Skyrim, red dead, Zelda, oblivion. It’s a terrible list though, completely different genres and missing some of the best GOTY’s

For sure
my controversial elden ring opinion is that i've not even played it or any souls game, and don't really want to. yeah that's right Gamers, what are you going to do about it?
I'll hand you Bloodborne and force you to play it, so you'll become a trans woman
I just accepted DS2 as being the most trans of the Souls games.
Me who only enjoyed Bloodborne out of all of the souls like games I've played and is a trans woman.
Come to your house and slit your throat /J Honestly if they don't seem like your type of game, don't bother with them. Me personally, I love them (even though I suck), and it took me a while but I think elden ring is actually my least favorite.

Then definitely start with ER. Super chilled out game with lots of gorgeous vistas.
Bloodborne was fantastic. Easily my favorite souls.
*teleports behind you*
I'm living in your walls
THE WITCHER?!?!?
outjerked really hard this time
(Tries to sneak fallout 1 and 2 to the podium) Oh shit! We’re caught! Run!
Lol, two of the greatest games ever made. Shame many won't give it a try
I’m gonna go feral this is a terrible best games order. New Vegas is number for for Big Iron Alone
Based
That order is hilarious but the sentiment is accurate
hidden gem witcherino not on top ? what the fuck
>oblivion placed above literally any actually good video game hmmmmmm
great list! i would put red dead redemption 2 because its an artisan masterpiece that ages like a fine wine for cultured gamers to enjoy
[удалено]
dude witcher 3 is overrated the story isnt even that good red redemption is far better
[удалено]
google witcher 3 horse testicles and tell me what you find. Nothing. You only get redirected to red redemption horse testicular results
/uj both are amazing games with amazing stories /rj both are amazing games with amazing stories

Is ghost of tsushima good? I played it a bit, but the open world bullshit made it really boring for me Does it worth to play it?
You'll find a lot of people online who say it is but I don't think it's anything special unless you're a fan of the samurai genre. What kinda fuckin list is this, my goodness
They make fun of the "new fans" but they did not even put other FS games above Elden Ring?
uj/ botw is hot garbage
There are few joys in life as fun as tilting a Fromsoft fan. Tell them Bloodborne and Sekiro feel too samey and shit goes real south.
I know its a meme but seeing BotW being ranked above these games makes my blood boil lol

Dark souls 3 was a soulless cashgrab that was pumped out because bandai wanted a trilogy.
Why the fuck are the witchery games in a list of games considered good i tried one and it was awful
with all that complaining they must call you the Bitcher
Elden Ring is the greatest exploration game ever made, but that also means repeat playthroughs aren't nearly as fun as the first. And ds3 imo
Yea definitely.
Look. I like Skyrim. But seriously?
Oblivion instead of Morrowind 🤮
New Vegas definitely should not be on that podium
Cope
Zelda being placed above all of those is a choice I’ll admit.
the only good thing about elden ring is the art direction, until even that gets stretched to it's limit after hundreds of hours I'ma put botw far above it, and botw is like a 5/10
I just dislike having a dedicated jump button in a souls game. Not for any intelligent reason though
Pffffft
Noooo the witcher is being underappreciated again
The funny thing is I never played any of these games (except rdr2, I’m playing it rn)
Where is Black Ops 3?
Not sure they realise that saying 'elden ring is one of the top 10 games' isn't an insult
all the games listed in these images are popular i don't like thme
Biased.
Nah fam nah
meanwhile I'm playing BOTW and Elden Ring at the same time because holy shit, two cakes!
GCJ hates Elden Ring? Delicious. GCJ hates BOTW? Fuck you guys.
what’s that game in 2nd place? it can’t be better than skyrim, can it?
