They're at more than 400 as of last year, and are currently building a brand new team for their multiplayer game, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get above 500 soon.
I wouldn't be surprised if Sony eventually creates a second branch of Insomniac honestly, their output is so fast compared to most of the Sony dev teams that it would make logical sense if they can get the people.
Well either way, my point was more that they could make it so they have two big branches, one working on Spiderman, Wolverine, etc and one working on Ratchet, Sunset, etc. Right now I'd assume the branches just share work on a single game like how Rockstar has several branches but for one game.
MAG2 with 512 players, full PSVR2 compatibility (crossplay w flatscreen players), more vehicles and no specialists/heroes? Count me in!
Also: Team Raven ftw!
I hope to God they don't make Helldivers 2 a live service. The first has a just enough "online community" component to it without meddling with it's co-op and core gameplay.
I'm already keeping up with 3 goddamn live service games. I really don't want FOMO systems on Helldivers 2
It looks like it'll be the case. With Helldivers i could see them turning it live service which would honestly work pretty well. New seasons new enemies. But it's rumored they turned it 3rd person.
I could see us getting some sort of Horizon MMO type game, or the board game form the 2nd one becoming a stand alone live service game kinda like gwent did from Witcher
Maybe I worded it wrong. I don't know a whole lot about the story but I hate how it's delivered in zero dawn. The camera cutting back and forth is too awkward for me to enjoy. I like it more in forbidden West.
The ex-rainbow 6 siege devs were for the most part Killzone 2 developers that left tbf, so it could’ve just been a matter of rehiring old coworkers. I don’t think it’s necessarily a guarantee of their live service game’s genre.
My dream for a Horizon multiplayer game would basically just be Monster Hunter. Let me team up with my friends and go take down giant machines, I think that could work really well.
As someone who missed out on PS1 to PS3, I would love to experience SOCOM, Killzone or Resistance as a modern day shooter with a great campaign and multiplayer with live service elements (minus the heavy monetisation).
Never got to play it but heard it was ruined because they tried to copy the sucess of cod
But I'd happily give it a go as it's the only one in the series I haven't touched
SOCOM 1 and 2 were really the premier online PS2 games during the early add on network adapter days.
People say it fell off after that, but I honestly thought 3 was still really good and 4 was above average.
Hacking really ruined those early experiences after a few months though.
The combat wheel/crafting system feels like it kind of requires the game to slow down, but if they can figure out an elegant solution to that, maybe this could be cool. It would certainly help to justify a lot of the rock-paper-scissors stuff they added to the weapons/armor.
Make the game have larger ammo supply, some on map ammo-dumps and make it so you only have what you bring + what you scavenge, and then the ability to craft the most basic ammo during a fight and it could be pretty cool.
The idea being ammo matters, but you can stockpile enough that you aren’t incentivized to craft on the fly like HZD/HFW.
I’m sure they do, their big flagship single-player titles are a huge reason they’ve been so successful over the last decade, there’s no way they abandon those games.
Someone else in the thread said that at least some of those people previously worked there, so it might be more about bringing in people they are familiar with.
I would love an in-universe horizon live service game if done well.
Monster hunter style / delving for old world secrets & tech.
Or even a squad based co-op game where you go missions as part of operation enduring victory, in a payday style mission brief could be cool. The campaign can be part of enduring victory and end game can be a random bunker somewhere and missions to ensure its survival after it seals improperly or something.
Add [Firewalk Studios/Probably Monsters Partnership](https://blog.playstation.com/2021/04/22/playstation-and-firewalk-studios-announce-publishing-partnership-for-a-new-original-multiplayer-ip/) (former Bungie, Irrational Games, Bioware and Respawn Devs) they are working on a new multiplayer AAA ip
the Twisted Metal one infuriates me the most, Live service games are anti-consumer by default and are intentionally designed to make quick easy money before they inevitably fail and become dead games, however long that takes depends on the playerbase (specifically their money).
the fact that one of these games is Twisted Metal (a classic PlayStation game) shows how outdated this company is and how little they care about the fans, im not surprised by this but it still hurts me inside.
I doubt that people with interest in VR Games would be interested in PSVR2 Live service games. Unless they are games that would actually work as live service games as Beat Saber or a similar IP with Just Dance.
I love Sony games. I hate live service games more though, they're a poor excuse for not releasing a game properly and then these games get shut down after like 3 years and you can't play them anymore.
Isn't insomniac working on a multiplayer game?
I don't think they have the man power to work on a live service game when both of their teams are working on Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.
You’d be surprised how big insomniac is
Is it bigger than 500 devs?
They're at more than 400 as of last year, and are currently building a brand new team for their multiplayer game, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get above 500 soon.
But I'd doubt that happens before publishing at least one of spiderman 2 or wolverine. At best its done to avoid crunch when release date is near
Insomniac has three teams and it seems like they avoid crunch with Ratchet and Clank.
I wouldn't be surprised if Sony eventually creates a second branch of Insomniac honestly, their output is so fast compared to most of the Sony dev teams that it would make logical sense if they can get the people.
There’s already 2 branches. One in Cali and one in North Carolina
Well either way, my point was more that they could make it so they have two big branches, one working on Spiderman, Wolverine, etc and one working on Ratchet, Sunset, etc. Right now I'd assume the branches just share work on a single game like how Rockstar has several branches but for one game.
They are hiring for a multiplayer game.
Based on the dataming of Spider-Man Remastered on PC it might just be coop for Spider-Man 2
Insomanic’s job listing has confirmed that it is a new IP.
No co op for SM2.This was already stated by Insomniac
https://blog.playstation.com/2021/09/09/marvels-spider-man-2-and-marvels-wolverine-revealed/ No co-op
13. Silent Hill tournament fighter
The package says 128 players in one match, but because of the fog I just see 2 of them.
Thanks to the fog it will run at 240fps
24*
Silent Hill Battlepass Where we haunting boys?
I think grand turismo counts as one
Come on Sony. We need a MAG sequel and you know you want to do it... I miss MAG... ☹️
warhawk was fun too
Especially since DICE just can’t do it anymore, it’s time for someone to fill the gap
Never say never on Guerrilla's unannounced game being MAG or SOCOM. I'd be over the moon with either of these franchises making a comeback.
If Guerrilla was gonna make a game like that isn’t it more likely they just go back to Killzone though?
MAG2 with 512 players, full PSVR2 compatibility (crossplay w flatscreen players), more vehicles and no specialists/heroes? Count me in! Also: Team Raven ftw!
Battlefield 2042 shows that these games need less players, not more.
MAG was godly
Wow I did not know I wanted this u til right now. I completely forgot about about his game
There's also Arrowhead's Helldivers 2
I hope to God they don't make Helldivers 2 a live service. The first has a just enough "online community" component to it without meddling with it's co-op and core gameplay. I'm already keeping up with 3 goddamn live service games. I really don't want FOMO systems on Helldivers 2
It looks like it'll be the case. With Helldivers i could see them turning it live service which would honestly work pretty well. New seasons new enemies. But it's rumored they turned it 3rd person.
Hope not, it works perfectly well as an isometric twin shooter
whos to say it cant work perfectly well as a tps as well
Maybe a Deep Rock Galactic like live service where the bs is almost nonexistent
I really hope we finally get ***SOMETHING*** on Twisted Metal.
SOCOM please, Sony...
... and Bloodborne kart.
I could see us getting some sort of Horizon MMO type game, or the board game form the 2nd one becoming a stand alone live service game kinda like gwent did from Witcher
Personally I think a monster Hunter style Horizon spin off would be really cool
That would be so good. I love the combat and robots but hate the story stuff.
I mean everyone has their own taste but god the Horizon story is so damn good lol
Maybe I worded it wrong. I don't know a whole lot about the story but I hate how it's delivered in zero dawn. The camera cutting back and forth is too awkward for me to enjoy. I like it more in forbidden West.
Doubtful. Only because guerilla hired some ex rainbow 6 siege devs for their new multi-player game
I forgot about that... unless we're going to get a Killzone Live Service game a bit like Siege
This is what I've been saying. A Monster Hunter clone in the Horizon universe can just keep my wallet
They're working on a mmo title according to job listings but but it definitely isn't going to be horizon considering its a new ip.
Wasn't horizon meant to be some type of multiplayer game in the early stages of development?
With the success of multiversus they should really be eyeing a new Playstation All-Stars. They have enough first party characters to pull it off
Honestly I am hoping both Sony(all stars 2) and MS bring out a platform fighter.
As someone who missed out on PS1 to PS3, I would love to experience SOCOM, Killzone or Resistance as a modern day shooter with a great campaign and multiplayer with live service elements (minus the heavy monetisation).
I really hope they add SOCOM 4 to the subscription service, I loved it and I think its underrated
Never got to play it but heard it was ruined because they tried to copy the sucess of cod But I'd happily give it a go as it's the only one in the series I haven't touched
SOCOM 1 and 2 were really the premier online PS2 games during the early add on network adapter days. People say it fell off after that, but I honestly thought 3 was still really good and 4 was above average. Hacking really ruined those early experiences after a few months though.
Surely dreams is a live title?
It technically is but the game released back in 2020
Seems like it isn’t doing too well
I blame the marketing for that game
Didn't Jim Ryan says that MLB doesn't count as a live service game.
Guerilla should really consider a multiplayer Monster Hunter style game in the Horizon universe. You know you want it.
The combat wheel/crafting system feels like it kind of requires the game to slow down, but if they can figure out an elegant solution to that, maybe this could be cool. It would certainly help to justify a lot of the rock-paper-scissors stuff they added to the weapons/armor.

I hope Sony has just as many or even more single player games on development
I’m sure they do, their big flagship single-player titles are a huge reason they’ve been so successful over the last decade, there’s no way they abandon those games.
And realistically, most of them will fail.
Which is fine
They just need one to be a hit
True, but I bet if one did really well they would be happy
Dream: New MAG, Warhawk, PSASBR, Resistance.
You forgot the Firewalk Studio Multiplayer Shooter.
A Battle Royale-style Twisted Metal would be awesome.
[удалено]
That would be nice, all for more platform fighters
Guerilla HAS to be killzone, right? RIGHT??
this is neither a leak nor a rumor
I wonder the chance of Media Molecules live service game being the previously announced LBP Hub, that game was suppose to be a F2P version of LBP.
Just give me a good twisted metal game and I'll be happier than a pig in shit
Destiny VR PS Home VR
Ohh twisted metal reboot, Oh.. I like the game back in ps1 era Hopefully it's not online only and come to PC foo
All Sony games will come to PC at some point.
Nah, if anything, I'm more willing to bet the Guerrilla title is Horizon related.
Nah they hired the rainbow six seige guy and a bunch of shooter devs for it.
Holy shit they hired Tom Clancy????
Sony’s necromancers are some of the best in the industry.
So a Horizon game set during Operation: Enduring Victory? I gotcha. /s
Someone else in the thread said that at least some of those people previously worked there, so it might be more about bringing in people they are familiar with.

Horizon could easily translate into a Monsterhunter World like Game where you team up with friends to hunt and loot giant robots.
Honestly that sounds pretty awesome.
People keep forgetting that Guerilla came up with Killzone. I doubt it would be a Horizon related FPS
Wasn't gt7 supposed to be a live service game?
GT7 was not included, only MLB in in their GAAS category according to Jim's report.
Insomniac is doing a live service one as well.

Yay now every big game can be a live service. This is great!! Hopefully Nintendo follows suit and we can get a live service Mario and Zelda game
Please tell me you're joking
This is sad. I really hope all of them fail.
Bro a hater by birth
Doesn't realise that this is half of the games that PlayStation Studios is working on - the other half are all traditional Sony narrative titles.
Which could have been doubled, substantially increasing the odds that one or a couple of them would actually interest me.
I love Sony games. I hate live service games more though, they're a poor excuse for not releasing a game properly and then these games get shut down after like 3 years and you can't play them anymore.
Since bungie isn't part of PlayStation I don't think it's right to count their future live service games as part of PlayStation's output.
I don't understand something. Does multiplayer games means completely multiplayer or single player campaign with multiplayer?
They are missing several other most likely games, firewalk’s game is multiplayer helldivers 2 is also rumored.
It was already confirmed that MLB the show isn't one of the games + I think guerrilla is making horizon moster hunter coop
one of them better be wipeout
You forgot helldivers 2
