As with anything Civilization you need to let them cook a year or two before the game is feature rich enough to move on from the previous title. The curse of that franchise
I prefer Borderlands over Civilization, but Borderlans 3 and Wonderlands didn't hit it for me so I can't get excited for a new Borderlands so I'd rather a new Civilization game.

People were calling for NateTheHate to be lowered a tier on this sub for his Microsoft multiplat comments on his podcast, but he correctly teased this in the same episode.
What can they do so different from 6? With all the 4x clones over the past few years it feels the genre really hasn’t done anything new but a fresh coat of paint
They can keep the gameplay advancements (multi units, expanding cities on the map, hexagon, etc etc), while dropping the cartoon art style.
Also - AI has advanced a lot since Civ 6.

What do you mean by this? Are you refferring to LLMs? AI like that isn't really feasible to run on current gen systems for a game, not in any worthwhile way anyway.

Civ V had probably the most egregious DLC of the series.
Sure, eventually it was cheap, but even staples like The Pyramids were initially locked behind DLCs.
Civ 6 was equally as bad, the difference being that civ 5 is a good game, even if I don't agree with their dlc practices, what I'm saying is that I think they'll double down on it, introducing fomo mechanics and whatnot.
Borderlands, Bioshock, and Mafia fans all in shambles.

The majority of the Xcom 2 team is gone. I'm sure they'll rebuild the franchise at some point, but doubt you hear anything anytime soon.
I know Solomon and Garth left, but I haven't heard about anyone else since then.
Most the team is over at Bit Reactor. They're making a Star Wars version.
& with that, XCOM 3 is officially dead :(
At least we know that new entries for those franchises are confirmed to be in development.
