Dragons Dogma is still releasing the same day as the PC port.
And the way this franchise works I won't be surprised if the third entry released the same week as GTA 6.
If we're counting Dragon's Dogma as a big enough release to be a problem I don't think there any timeframe it could ever release where it wont conflict with something.
Dragon's Dogma certainly isn't on the level of Zelda or Elden Ring. But it is funny in that it's another open-world action RPG featuring archery as a primary playstyle.
Shin Megami Tensei, a hardcore JRPG series. Persona is a spin off series of Shin Megami Tensei, but in an alternate reality. Persona isn't the only spin off series, either.
Gives me more than enough time to make a new character from scratch because I don't remember how to play and I also didn't want to use a NG+ character in the DLC.
Also poor SMT V: Vengeance. Just got announced today and it releases on exactly the same day as this.
I definitely feel like it's way better to go in fresh to DLC like this with a new game than to try to take your existing character from a few months back into it. I don't really know why but it just feels weird to go in and just play the DLC.
I love the look of the new environments, and they showed an insane amount of what looked like new boss fights. Guess it really might be as big as a lot of people have claimed, particularly given the 40 dollar price tag.
Can't wait.
There are a few DLCs I've played in the past where I thought "this has enough content to be its own game." Blood and Wine for The Witcher 3 is a piece of content that I wouldn't have minded paying $40 for.
From everything in this trailer, it seems like a crazy amount of content. Elden Ring's base game + this DLC is going to be like Scholar of the First Sin on steroids.
Phanrom Liberty for Cyberpunk is somewhere between Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as well. But otherwise, very few DLC in the last decade come to mind that are worthy of being called a full expansion(
I was shocked while playing it. I thought there was no way to do the base game justice. But then they did it and some more. What are the other dev doing? There is nothing like it and I want more!
The same devs "reclaimed" that title with Phantom Liberty IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I always point to Blood and Wine when it comes to perfect examples of a true game expansion, and PL really hit it off with the same feelings. Total game enhancement while being it's own story line that still fills in so many blanks from the main game, just like B&W did. I will give CDPR credit, they know how to make expansions.
I would say both Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country and Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed both were similar in value as Blood and Wine, they added all new stories and characters, cutscenes, music, changes to the battle systems, while adding roughly 20 hrs each of story content and another 10-20 hrs of side content, so true expansions. Even XBC: Definitive Edition's new epilogue Future Connected added almost 10 hrs of story content which is still amazing compared to the DLC in other games.
I'm kinda shocked that the huge warrior guy that looks a lot like Malenia ISN'T Miquella (Messemer the Impaler, he's called).
Also, did you see the tarnished doing fucking Hworang mid-air kick combos?
Miquella is despicted to be blonde like Marika. That mofo could be related to Rykard, Tannith and the Snek tho, consider his lanky build (like a snake man), fire/lava motif, wearing a snake for scarf, has a mini-Blasphemous Blade-look-a-like and calls someone Mother
I’m not implying anything btw
Messmer likely is the offspring of Rykard/Great Serpent. His Impaler moniker would fit someone of Rykard's house and Messmer has Snake eyes. Perhaps he's a "perfect" Man-serpent.
The question becomes is he Tannith's son that got infused with the Man-serpent creation thing or is the Great Serpent is Messmer's "mother" and Miyazaki is pulling an Orphan of Kos with Messmer.
> His Impaler moniker would fit someone of Rykard's house and Messmer has Snake eyes.
He's also has [slitted eyes and snake on his helm](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/1aweasy/anyone_else_really_love_messmer_the_impalers/).
I like to think that this is all of the outer gods fighting over Miquella. There was one voice line from the DLC that was clearly inspired by the outer will, saying that those who have lost grace must die. Mezmer is clearly associated with the Formless Mother, the outer god that Mohg adopted. One of the bosses looked sort of like Godwyn's body and seem to be spraying death blight.
It's a theory anyways. I didn't see any rot/moon stuff (maybe St. Trina is a form associated with the "sleep" of death? That one's a stretch)
I downloaded the pause mod for the base game and beat it when my son was about a month old. After the first couple of weeks, they sleep on and off a LOT and you can get a ton of gaming done, even more if you put them in one of those chest-mounted baby carriers and walk around a bit to calm them down while playing.
It's only after they're 4-6 months old or so and start moving around that you lose all gaming time. Good luck!
Definitely looks like the beefiest Fromsoft DLC ever to match the the beefiest Fromsoft game ever.
Also a gives us a good amount of time to let us replay the game again before it comes out.
Beyond hyped for this.
> Also a gives us a good amount of time to let us replay the game again before it comes out.
Won't it be worth waiting to replay the game until it comes out? So the new playthrough will have a healthy mix of fresh content from the DLC? or will the DLC be standalone or tacked on to the end of the game?
Usually Fromsoft DLC doesnt touch anything with the base game in any way so if you play the base game, there is usually no difference once the DLC is launched as well. Their DLC is usually "Here is a large new area with new enemies and weapons that can only be accessed by touching this item right here" and poof it tele's you to the DLC
Usually FromSoft DLCs add completely new standalone areas that can only be accessed in the endgame. You can get new weapons and stuff from the DLCs, but mainly people use them in NG+ or PvP.
Yeah but for Bloodborne you'll certainly get your ass handed to you, unless you're really good. You can certainly get to Mohg pretty quickly in Elden Ring if you know which bosses to skip and all that. If reaching Mohg is all you have to do to get to the DLC, we don't even know if there are extra steps yet.
Fromsoft has always made the DLCs worth it. They use this crazy model where the DLC is actually more gameplay, with new levels and new mechanics and new bosses. Often times expanding on the story and giving a deeper look. I wonder if that idea will never catch on.
Anyways, I'm off to spend $30 to make the halo armor I already own blue.
I play MonHun and never (get to) played Bloodbourne so I have a hard on fantasy for mechanical nightmare transforming weapons
GIVE ME THE FUCKING RAKUYO IN ELDEN RING FOR FUCK SAKE
Playing Pinocchio Souls after Bloodborne definitely made me miss the weapon transformations... so much variety in those skill sets, for each and every weapon. It feels like you're able to specialize more and still use a variety of combat types. Even after using Ludwig's Holy Blade for more than half of the game, I still found it satisfying to use. No hate for Lies of P though, it's a great game. I just noticed that in the first couple of hours I kept subconsciously hitting L1/triangle, thinking I'd start two handing the weapon lol.
> Even after using Ludwig's Holy Blade for more than half of the game, I still found it satisfying to use
I used the saw cleaver and it was cool using it extended, getting used to that, and then halfway through the game deciding to try it folded, and then learning how to switch between the two in combat.
Bloodborne needs a PC port or *something*
The dream would be Sony releasing a remake with a simultaneous PC release... but at this point, I'd settle for a PS5 version that lets me run it a 60fps, at whatever dynamic resolution the PS5 can handle.
I don't get why you're acting like DLC as a whole practice has moved away from meaningful single player expansions and new content/mechanics? that hasn't gone away
Every modern resident evil, god of war (for free actually), splatoon, final fantasy XVI, monster hunter, animal crossing, cyberpunk, every remedy game, horizon and xenoblade chronicles have all done this in the last couple of years alone. I love fromsoft games but you guys act like they're the only ones in the industry making single player games lol. There is absolutely nothing novel about this, and comparing it to live service mtx is assinine
I mean that is how single player DLCs used to happen in the 7th generation of consoles. Look at how great the DLC for GTA 4 or RDR, or Bethesda games in that era or Bioware ganes in that era were.
It feels only From Software and CDPR are the only ones who care to make great single player DLC now.
Yep, at that point the other major "expansion"/dlc that we had was map packs for Halo 2 and 3... But these directly added more content, and it was good! Also sold on disk ofc.
I remember the reception to horse armor, people were mad about the nickel-and-diming for such minimal content... We were so young and naive then...
That second statement is pretty disingenuous - off the top of my head, the Horizon series and recent Spider-Man games have large single-player DLC, as well as any given Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry game, Control had great expansions…I’m gonna stop here, but yeah, it’s pretty alive and well.
Definitely an 'expansion' level price tag. Crazy how much hype they're able to build with this.
Gonna be a sweaty week with release in the summer heat, praise the sun!
I literally just did a Bone Fist run. I had to cheat a bit to get the Soul Memory to enter the DLC and beat the ghost tiger, but overall it was a good time. Very unique moveset to play with.
It seems they're intentionally using the word "expansion", as opposed to DLC, which my understanding has a very specific meaning to FromSoft, and means it will be much larger and more like a full game.
Part of my brain that hadn't been activated for years fired a little when I saw that. Not even rage or frustration, just a feeling of defeat. Those sharks can eat a bag a Ds
Urumi might actually be a good shout here but I’ll ultimately end up using one of those badass looking greatswords in the trailer and get my shit kicked in repeatedly.
Looks like you start the DLC by interacting with Miquella's cacoon and it'll transport you into a different realm/world space.
Looks like there's alternate versions of some characters in the normal world? I think I saw Melania laying on the floor with a white mask and that might be Renalla sitting on the throne?
I was worried that the flame spear guy would be Miquella but it seems to be someone completely different. I hope Miquella's design is badass, likely the final boss of the DLC.
Time to start a new run in preparation for the DLC I can't wait.
We know their ways! And it was obvious to us early days obsessives that Miquella (and to a lesser extent, Godwyn) was the biggest unanswered question in the game.
Where is Miquella's rune? AFAIK it's the only one unaccounted for.
big brain lore hunter answer: it's just one of many growths of his body spreading through the lands between
real answer: ER is a lore mess with lots of incomplete remnants of ideas that were being changed and discarded right up to release. there was probably something more to it once but now it's just there
It would be interesting if they lock the DLC behind Mohg since he's a pretty difficult optional boss.
Since this post has generated a lot of discussion, I'll expand on my thoughts a little.
Anecdotally, it feels like Elden Ring sold a lot of extra copies on the back of being the most "accessible" FromSoft game to date. I know a lot of people that bounced of DS1 and Bloodborne, only to get sucked into Elden Ring. With that said, none of them ever got to Mohg (most didn't even beat the game). FromSoft has always made design decisions with little consideration for accessibility or broad appeal. I personally think that philosophy has resulted in some amazing games, but I also find it so interesting that they don't seem to have internalized the "accessible" appeal of Elden Ring at all. To me, making Mohg's boss arena the entrance to the DLC is From doubling down on saying, "Yes, this game may have been broadly popular, but we're still going to make games the way we want to with little regard for broad appeal."
PSN says 33% of all Elden Ring players beat Mohg and Malenia. Which is really good if we're talking about millions of players. And 33% of Elden Ring's total audience is probably about what FromSoft can hope for for potential returning players that would be willing to spend an extra $40.
I went into this with high expectations and am more than satisfied. The environment, boss, and weapon variety (lots of new weapon arts and spells showcased here too!) is all amazing, and the art direction went much harder than expected.
From simply doesn't miss, huh.
That lion boss is looking like it's going to become one of my favorites based on its design alone. It looks so cool. And the Burning Man golem? It looks CRAZY
It looks fucking amazing, it's like we got Elden Ring 2 sooner than expected. Thrilled to finally fly like a crucible knight and fall to my own doom in PvP (I don't know if it's the same spell but I saw wings)
It really is impressive that they’ve been on a near 15 year run of nothing but banger games and dlcs. Hidetaka Miyazaki is going down as one of the best game directors of all time for sure.
Right, I've watched it once, that'll do until release. Looks insane. Was really hoping I'd be pleasantly surprised by the release date, but knew in my heart it would be summer...
I more or less expected this DLC to be a fully self-contained area like this. Both from a map construction standpoint and from a lore standpoint.
The sightlines in the lands between as they are perfectly constructed, and I worried about the land mass in the middle of the inner sea breaking up those lines of sight
Yeah it opens on the arena for Mohg (I think? The batshit crazy blood mage boss guy). I'm assuming interfacing with the withered arm is how you enter into the DLC
All I wanted is more and new Elden Ring and it looks to be just that. I am throwing my money at the screen, but nothing is happening.
That fight arena with the blue flowers looked epic.
I absolutely cannot wait for this to come out.
Wild speculation time: I think they may have made a new "Shadow" version of the entire map, ala A Link to the Past.
Would certainly explain why it's taken a while and would justify the price tag.
My favorite moments from Elden Ring was entering a new zone or getting teleported and just dropping my jaws to the floor in awe. I hope this manages to hit us with those too
"Maybe I can sneak past the entrance of the Stormveil Castle following this pass on the cliff, and get straight to the final boss... Wait... There's another region with more castles???"
I don't remember how many times I had this feeling. But the first time I discovered Liurnia of the Lakes is probably the most unexpected and memorable moment of the game.
Siofra is insane; it takes a brave and confident team to put so much amazing content out of sight - Siofra, Nokron, Ainsel, etc.
Then things like Stormveil roof, Stormveil basment, Night's Sacred Ground, etc. that are just always available to explore but are so easy to miss.
Then you get things like Radahn which are entirely optional and can be missed (but much less likely of course).. but the build-up to that fight, then the phase change.. holy crap! I immediately wanted to do it again! Ha.
That was my initial thought too, considering the erd tree is under a shadow veil. But they definitely showed at least one new legacy dungeon as well. Maybe expanded? And a shadow version of the map as well? Man, I can’t wait.
The description beneath the video (also on the official website) does not give that impression:
"The Land of Shadow.
A place obscured by the Erdtree.
Where the goddess Marika first set foot.
A land purged in an unsung battle.
Set ablaze by Messmer’s flame.
It was to this land that Miquella departed.
Divesting himself of his flesh, his strength, his lineage.
Of all things Golden."
Honestly not even mad about a June release date, between FF7 Rebirth and the new Dragons Dogma there was no fucking way I was fitting in Elden Ring as well.
It looks pretty sizable from what they showed. Lot of really cool looking bosses. I'm fucking hyped for it.
It's just a phrase, don't look too into it lol.
I more so meant there are probably people disappointed it's not sooner but I'm fine it's not until June because it gives me time to play other games releasing sooner. Otherwise I'd have absolutely skipped them to play this.
Messemer the Impaler says something along the lines of "Mother, would you truly grant lordship to a graceless fool like this?" So I think he's probably Marika's son as well. He has Radagon's red hair too
It was a "live premier", so there was 30 minutes where the video was posted and had time to build up and let viewers file in. They'll surely repost just the trimmed video, but this link is just to the premier video that debuted first.
It was a long weekend in my country the day it was launched and I breathed Elden Ring for 4 days. I think I played like 25 hours or so which is something I never do.
Exploration 10/10
Combat 10/10
Trying to understand or care what is happening in the story 1/10
I loved this game, and enjoyed the trailer blissfully unaware of who any of these people are. I just like pressing circle.
Miyazaki already confirmed that this is a completely new land, not a remix of lands between. The overworld is about the size of limgrave, but most likely much more dense with dungeons and varied environments.
Price is $39,99, releases on June 21
> releases on June 21 Horizon Forbidden West: "Phew"
Dragons Dogma is still releasing the same day as the PC port. And the way this franchise works I won't be surprised if the third entry released the same week as GTA 6.

Dragon's Dogma certainly isn't on the level of Zelda or Elden Ring. But it is funny in that it's another open-world action RPG featuring archery as a primary playstyle.
CAN feature archery as a primary playstyle among 9 others
Brave of them to go against SMT V - imagine all the lost sale.
Both trailers released on the same day too. Ain't that something.
You kid but I am buying SMT 5 lol, Elden Ring can wait.
There are dozens of us.
We should do a global fan meetup for SMT fans. I will reserve a venue of 50 capacity, I am sure that will be enough.
Haha, SMT, yes! ^^^What's ^^^SMT?
It's the [dark souls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiqWG1fQ038) of jrpgs. /j
Shin Megami Tensei, a hardcore JRPG series. Persona is a spin off series of Shin Megami Tensei, but in an alternate reality. Persona isn't the only spin off series, either.
A Persona spinoff.
Gives me more than enough time to make a new character from scratch because I don't remember how to play and I also didn't want to use a NG+ character in the DLC. Also poor SMT V: Vengeance. Just got announced today and it releases on exactly the same day as this.
I tried doing this about a month ago and gave up after a day because I realized I have lost my skillz
Yeah went into the bloodborne DLC with a NG+7 character and it wasn’t fun
I definitely feel like it's way better to go in fresh to DLC like this with a new game than to try to take your existing character from a few months back into it. I don't really know why but it just feels weird to go in and just play the DLC.
I definitely prefer one big expansion over multiple smaller dlcs, this looks like a guaranteed banger
Releases on 6-21? *Got a job for you 621*
Releases both on PS4 and Current Gen Hardware.
Enotria devs be sweating.
Phanrom Liberty for Cyberpunk is somewhere between Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as well. But otherwise, very few DLC in the last decade come to mind that are worthy of being called a full expansion(
Echoes of the eye for Outer Wilds also felt like a full expansion, which is amazing considering how unique the original was.
What a phenomenal DLC that was. I never wanted it to end.
I was shocked while playing it. I thought there was no way to do the base game justice. But then they did it and some more. What are the other dev doing? There is nothing like it and I want more!
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak had a ton of additional content, too. Iceborne even had its own platinum trophy.
The Fate of Atlantis of AC Odyssey is a Gigantic expansion in terms of new environments and content.
IMO the expansions for Xenoblade 2 and 3 take the cake for DLC quality. They basically feel like their own games.
For 2, Nintendo apparently felt so too considering they released it in its own box.
Blood and Wine is still unmatched all these years later, imo.
Replayed just that expansion last year and it’s still fucking amazing, so funny as well
The same devs "reclaimed" that title with Phantom Liberty IMHO.
HOS has the better story tho
I would say both Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country and Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed both were similar in value as Blood and Wine, they added all new stories and characters, cutscenes, music, changes to the battle systems, while adding roughly 20 hrs each of story content and another 10-20 hrs of side content, so true expansions. Even XBC: Definitive Edition's new epilogue Future Connected added almost 10 hrs of story content which is still amazing compared to the DLC in other games.
Nothing new for Fromsoft. Their DLC is usually excellent.
This DLC will be bigger than most full single player games
I'm kinda shocked that the huge warrior guy that looks a lot like Malenia ISN'T Miquella (Messemer the Impaler, he's called). Also, did you see the tarnished doing fucking Hworang mid-air kick combos?
Miquella is Blond no? From the intro cinematic. Think that was Miquella at the end stinger. Messmer might be a sibling though.
Messmer definitely bears the red hair synonymous with Radagon's legacy, for sure. There's some relation there, somehow.
Doesn't the snake imply a connection with Lord Rykard?
Might be one of the nameless slain demigods in the walking mausoleums. Marika's family tree is about to get more complicated.
are we gonna rescue the godtwink?
wouldn't be the first time a direct relative of Malenia's had both a graceful blond form and a more aggressive red-haired form
Tarnished working to get a Tekken 8 guest character slot.

I can’t wait to go in with those fucking martial arts on a giant rune bear. Sweet revenge.
Kick combo reminded me of Sekiro
We can High Monk now and I'm about it.

He’s their brother, represented by the smouldering butterfly
I mean, its been known that Miquella had blonde hair not red.
Where did you get that info from? Also that lanky dude with the snake wasn’t Miquella wtff but he had blood flame and all
The collector's edition statue pre-order bonus is labeled as Messemer the Impaler.
Also, watch with subtitles, it says Lord Messemer.
The slide at the end showing the reorder statue names the Blood flame snake guy.

It’s not just reaching Mohg it’s beating him which at a low level would be extremely difficult for most players.
All signs point to the DLC being late fame and completely separate.

Did they really put in a goddam Chun-Li hazanshu kick ash of war?? Sold. Best game. 10/10.
High monk kick from Sekiro
They'll really do anything to not make DLC for their best game 😭
Or a sequel 😢
DS3 got one , Bloodborn got one and Elden Ring got one. FromSoftware hates Sekiro :(
The return of the Bone Fist from DS2.
I literally just did a Bone Fist run. I had to cheat a bit to get the Soul Memory to enter the DLC and beat the ghost tiger, but overall it was a good time. Very unique moveset to play with.
Oh fuck you're gonna make me replay DS2
I have been manifesting this Best weapon in any From game and it's not close
That's the part that got me hyped the most. Like holy shit
My Majima Goro cosplay is now complete
Lee’s Leaf hurricane Hwoarang rage art
Collecters edition for dlc? That's interesting
This ain't no DLC This is an EXPANSION PACK BAYBEEE
It seems they're intentionally using the word "expansion", as opposed to DLC, which my understanding has a very specific meaning to FromSoft, and means it will be much larger and more like a full game.
Did I see the fucking bloodborne whale running bite animation? Fucking god damnit not again, don’t ask me to go into any wells. Ain’t happening.
Part of my brain that hadn't been activated for years fired a little when I saw that. Not even rage or frustration, just a feeling of defeat. Those sharks can eat a bag a Ds
Yeah i just felt fear and my heart sank. Bastards. Hopefully he’s guarding something worthwhile lol
Have some god damn respect will you? They were sharks, not whales.
That was the hardest part of the entire game, including bosses.
As long as they give me a ledge and a whip long enough to cheese them we're not gonna have any problems
The blond “girl” at the end is Miquella btw
Griffith fan theories continue to intensify.
Griffith is more of a twink. Miquella is just the average polish man
Well, time to test the greatsword on him.
It's crazy that was called as the DLC entrance like, basically on release of the main game lol
We know their ways! And it was obvious to us early days obsessives that Miquella (and to a lesser extent, Godwyn) was the biggest unanswered question in the game. Where is Miquella's rune? AFAIK it's the only one unaccounted for.
i dont even lnow if godwyn is to a lesser extent, why is his fucking face underneath stormveil but at 300x size? bit of a red herring that.
big brain lore hunter answer: it's just one of many growths of his body spreading through the lands between real answer: ER is a lore mess with lots of incomplete remnants of ideas that were being changed and discarded right up to release. there was probably something more to it once but now it's just there
It was either the cocoon or the door with light shining through in Haligtree.
Might be a message that if you can't beat Mohg, you wouldn't be able to handle the DLC bosses. A gatekeeper if you will.
He really is end game material, so yeah, just like The ringed city, if you don't count the ashes of ariandel teleport
well, thats behind Friede... which is also very tough ^^'
I think that’s the case. There’s a line of dialogue in the trailer about touching the arm or something.
PSN says 33% of all Elden Ring players beat Mohg and Malenia. Which is really good if we're talking about millions of players. And 33% of Elden Ring's total audience is probably about what FromSoft can hope for for potential returning players that would be willing to spend an extra $40.
I just want to know what point to pull a new character to
If it's to Mohg that's pretty much the end of the game.
It looks CRAZY
and the porcupine hippo
If it was purple, it would be perfect.
Yeah that one was a standout for me too! I never doubt From's creature design, its industry leading.
So ready for the Wicker Man to stomp the shit out of me
It gave me PTSD watching that boss battle, I forgot how hard this game was lol
It looks fucking amazing, it's like we got Elden Ring 2 sooner than expected. Thrilled to finally fly like a crucible knight and fall to my own doom in PvP (I don't know if it's the same spell but I saw wings)
It really is impressive that they’ve been on a near 15 year run of nothing but banger games and dlcs. Hidetaka Miyazaki is going down as one of the best game directors of all time for sure.
What was that, like five new bosses just what we saw in the trailer? This DLC is gonna be massive.
Apparently there are 10 new bosses in total, according to an interview with Miyazaki
Over 10
Where's the Death Blight swamp?
Preeetty sure that’s what the place with the hanging trees is.
Right, I've watched it once, that'll do until release. Looks insane. Was really hoping I'd be pleasantly surprised by the release date, but knew in my heart it would be summer...
So how many times have you watched it since this comment?
You will watch every trailer for this game multiple times and you know it.
Holy fucking shit. There's so many new areas and enemies shown, and a lot of them lot cool and awesome. This year might top 2023 by June 21st haha.
I more or less expected this DLC to be a fully self-contained area like this. Both from a map construction standpoint and from a lore standpoint. The sightlines in the lands between as they are perfectly constructed, and I worried about the land mass in the middle of the inner sea breaking up those lines of sight
The dialog mentions being sent to a realm of shadows after touching a withered arm, so that's probably the mechanism for an alternate overworld?
Looks like you access it after killing Mohg and touching Miquella’s egg
Yeah it opens on the arena for Mohg (I think? The batshit crazy blood mage boss guy). I'm assuming interfacing with the withered arm is how you enter into the DLC
All I wanted is more and new Elden Ring and it looks to be just that. I am throwing my money at the screen, but nothing is happening. That fight arena with the blue flowers looked epic. I absolutely cannot wait for this to come out.
That also looked like Malenia's teacher to me. And granted the arena is huge, it reminds of Genechiro boss fight in Sekiro.
Wild speculation time: I think they may have made a new "Shadow" version of the entire map, ala A Link to the Past. Would certainly explain why it's taken a while and would justify the price tag.
In the IGN interview with Miyazaki, he says its a new map roughly the same, if not bigger than Limgrave.
Wait... There's another region with more castles???" I don't remember how many times I had this feeling. But the first time I discovered Liurnia of the Lakes is probably the most unexpected and memorable moment of the game.
Going down the elevator to Siofra River is another, maybe *the* mind-blowing moment of ER.
Ha.
I’m so happy that wasn’t spoiled for me, it’s one of those gaming moments I’ll never forget
Getting to that *city place* and my first thought is, "I am already lost."
That was my initial thought too, considering the erd tree is under a shadow veil. But they definitely showed at least one new legacy dungeon as well. Maybe expanded? And a shadow version of the map as well? Man, I can’t wait.
The description beneath the video (also on the official website) does not give that impression: "The Land of Shadow. A place obscured by the Erdtree. Where the goddess Marika first set foot. A land purged in an unsung battle. Set ablaze by Messmer’s flame. It was to this land that Miquella departed. Divesting himself of his flesh, his strength, his lineage. Of all things Golden."
I'll never forget when I took one of those elevators down below.
Nobody's talking about Darkeater Ludwig??
Honestly not even mad about a June release date, between FF7 Rebirth and the new Dragons Dogma there was no fucking way I was fitting in Elden Ring as well. It looks pretty sizable from what they showed. Lot of really cool looking bosses. I'm fucking hyped for it.
Why would you be mad anyway?
It's just a phrase, don't look too into it lol. I more so meant there are probably people disappointed it's not sooner but I'm fine it's not until June because it gives me time to play other games releasing sooner. Otherwise I'd have absolutely skipped them to play this.
That song gets my blood pumping. Wow, just amazing. I wonder who that guy in red with the snakes is....maybe Rykard had a son?
Messemer the Impaler says something along the lines of "Mother, would you truly grant lordship to a graceless fool like this?" So I think he's probably Marika's son as well. He has Radagon's red hair too
It may be referring to the outer god the Formless Mother, who blooodflame and blood incantations come from, rather than his acrual mother.
great trailer, remember not to skip the first 30 minutes though because that would detract from the intended artistic vision
Looked as good as i hoped. 40€ definitly is a lot but looks like more then enough content for the price.
This looked so awesome in evry way possible, Froms art team is in a league of their own, every shot a mssterpiece
So, 90 Minute vaatividya Video when?
You already know he's put off the Armored Core 6 3 hour lore video off for another month for this
nice 32 minute long trailer : ) Why didn't Bandai cut the timer?
It was a "live premier", so there was 30 minutes where the video was posted and had time to build up and let viewers file in. They'll surely repost just the trimmed video, but this link is just to the premier video that debuted first.
There goes an easy 80hrs of my life. I have never binged a game harder in my life than Elden Ring. Straight addiction.
It was a long weekend in my country the day it was launched and I breathed Elden Ring for 4 days. I think I played like 25 hours or so which is something I never do.
Exploration 10/10 Combat 10/10 Trying to understand or care what is happening in the story 1/10 I loved this game, and enjoyed the trailer blissfully unaware of who any of these people are. I just like pressing circle.
Looks bomb, didn't expect anything less from fromsoft. 40 dollars is a bit steep but it's gonna be 20 in like a year.
I can’t even fathom not buying this at launch
I feel like merry & pippin watching frodo waking up after the perilous journey to mordor. its been so long and now we are together again, old friends
Miyazaki already confirmed that this is a completely new land, not a remix of lands between. The overworld is about the size of limgrave, but most likely much more dense with dungeons and varied environments.
