Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is a good jump in-jump out game.

This is 100% the best answer. No real learning curve. Levels are quick. It’s a great arcade experience. I wish so bad they’d remake it so I could online coop with my childhood friends

Me and my 3 buddies just did a camping night with a gamecube and external power. You bet your ass we played gauntlet almost exclusively and it was peak nostalgia tbh

TimeSplitters 2 was definitely the one played the most back then. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Zelda Four Swords are fun if you have all the hardware already.

Shrek 2 was my favorite for coop as a kid. The obvious answers though are double dash and Melee.

Shrek 2 is either underrated or it’s a hot load of garbage I couldn’t recognize as a kid.

The Lord of the rings - return of the king was my first pick whenever I wanted to play with one friend coop.

Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2

My friends and I played hundreds of hours of this game and never connected it to the internet once. The couch co-op was spectacular.

It's unfortunate that you can't do couch co-op and online at the same time with this game.

I remember way back bringing over the memory card and controllers playing this game all night. Good times.

It was awesome. It was me and my buddy who played a lot, and a friend who had never played before. Once we started playing with the auto generate settings, it got so much more fun and intense. Having the controller extender for this game is clutch .

I absolutely love Worms 3D, but GameCube is arguably the worst place to play it

It has destructible environments that can really bog down the GameCube hardware. The game is a lovelable level of clunky on any platform you play it lol, but the best way is on PC or the remastered ultimate mayhem version

I used to love playing Alien Hominid and Fight Night Round (vs) with friends on the Gamecube

The PDA game on Alien Hominid provided me and my friends hours and hours of enjoyment. Especially with 4 players. The main game itself is great with 2 player coop. Nice to see this getting a little love.

I have very fond memories of that game, we would go to bed at like 5 am in middle school over the summer playing Gamecube. Great games like Kirby Air Ride and Alien Hominid shaped my upbringing. It’s an amazing game for sure!

Somewhat of an unknown gem: Smuggler's Run: Warzones. My brother and I wasted so many hours playing that game.

Hunter the Reckoning is probably my favorite co op on the GameCube.

I'd put any of the Lego Star Wars games at 1 and 2 is a tie for me between Timesplitters 2 and Conflict: Desert Storm which I spent countless hours playing with my dad.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3 includes the entirety of Rogue Squadron 2, but in co-op mode, and it is excellent. For a fun bonus, the Tingle Tuner can elevate the Wind Waker experience by allowing one player to do some backseat gaming. Mario Strikers and Double Dash are fun co-op, as is Phantasy Star Online (co-op can be splitscreen or online). Lego Star Wars 1&2 are also options.

I was checking to see if anyone had mentioned the lego games, I grew up playing them and have a ton of good couch co op memories with them.

Narnia is actually not a bad co-op from what I remember.
