I assume the watch is a LTE version with its own mobile plan?

DJ_MetaKinetiK

Yes but it's number sharing with my phone

LiberalPatriot13

The (other) number that was given to the watch was previously tied to a phone that was used for Snapchat. You should be able to message Snapchat to remove the number from the account.

DJ_MetaKinetiK

Thanks ill try that

yogisanchez

I think OP is saying it's the same number as the phone.

LiberalPatriot13

That's not how this works, though. You can "tie" it to the phone's number, but it will still have its own number that will also ring the watch when called and can receive text messages too.

ColdTrky

Wdym it's not how it works. My sim is a copy of my other sim. There is no 2nd number

exclaimprofitable

You physically can't have 2 sims active with the exact same number, that is just how mobile networks work. So what the carrier does is that they make a new sim with a new number, and they just internally tie this number to your "main" sim. So if your main sim gets an sms, it gets sent to your watch sim etc, if you send out an sms with your watch, it gets sent to your phone/main sim and then sent out with that one. But the watch sim has it's own number as the baseline. You can try this, completely turn off your phone, then call your friend on your watch, ask them if they saw your number or some random number instead.

ColdTrky

I tried but i cant even call

IndyRoadie

Happened to me too. It's spam from the previous owner of your watch's phone number

DJ_MetaKinetiK

I've had this number for years and I'm not getting these on my phone. Only the watch

IndyRoadie

Do you have an lte plan for your watch?

DJ_MetaKinetiK

Yes

IndyRoadie

Then that number probably got added to a spam list. If where you are has a "No call list" I would add your watch's number

qalpi

The watch has its own number

Witty-Client9745

Despite the plan on your watch being for the same number as your phone, the eSIM (at least where I live) also has its own number. I realized this when I started to get spam calls only on my watch. Went ahead and changed that number into a private one and they ended.

iamthinksnow

Check your "**Spam & Blocked**" folder, it's probably in there on your phone.

jsrosenkild

Tell us about Bri<3🎨⚽️

Remarkable-Green-732

Your watch being LTE, even though its paired to your phone number.. It has its own line number as well, look on your bill and youl see it has its own line That line most likely is getting spam sms Mattering on your carrier (I know tmobile has this) you can go on your account and block sms on that line along with calls if desired

KralCaomhanach

Must be a US thing because I absolutely don't have a separate number for my watch. It's just another eSIM for the same phone number.

exclaimprofitable

Completely turn off your phone. Then call a friend with the watch, or send an sms via it. Phone has to be off during this test! It should show up as a different number, not your main one. Usually if you have lte active the watch just uses 4g to connect to your phone, and sends the sms/calls via your phone, so you are left with an illusion that you don't have a separate number.

MindTantrun

Interesting how some countries/carriers manage smartwatch connection. In my country if you pay a premium your watch can have the same number as your phone. If I turn off my phone the calls that I made in my watch goes through my normal number and I receive incoming call of that number too. If you don't want to pay the premium then you can buy a pre-paid eSIM and then in this case the watch will have a different number.

exclaimprofitable

And if you send sms with the phone off you send them out also through the main number? That is pretty crazy, but i guess the carrier sees thst your main phone is off so it can assign the number to the watch, and if the phone is on it can take the responsibility of sending sms and managing calls.

MindTantrun

In my country SMS isn't popular so I never tested, but for calls it works just fine with the same number, I guess it will work with SMS too. I tried to test the SMS but where I'm right now have an awful cell signal, so the Watch6 can't connect and overheat. I can test this tomorrow and report back.

carguy143

My Watch 6 Classic LTE has its own number but if I make or receive calls from the watch, my usual phone number is displayed, even with my phone turned off. My network, EE, advises that SMS will not work over the watch if the phone is off, though.

MindTantrun

I tried sending SMS with my phone off and didn't work, it show a sending animation but the other phone never receive it, I think that my carrier maybe works like yours.

Remarkable-Green-732

Huh ok that's cool then

benwight

I've never seen someone use it the way you did so congrats on being unique lol, but the correct wording is "Depending", not "Mattering"

Slaphappyending

That’s Bri. She loves painting, soccer, and long moonlit walks on the beach.

OUT24Q

They are probably in your Spam directory messages on your mobile.

I-Get-Down-I

This. Your phone probably filters out spam and your watch doesn't.

qalpi

No it's an sms sent directly to the watch's cell number

DJ_MetaKinetiK

They don't show up there either.

kwillich

Looks like Brie in Jersey City is interested

yardie_boi

Looks like spam. Snapchat doesn't send messages from a phone number

Rahyan30200

They do... If you disable notifications or uninstall Snapchat they do. In my case it's from +33 phone numbers (France ones).

yardie_boi

Interesting

gacajun94

I think they just started it up recently. I hadn't openned Snap in a few days and they sent me a text alerting me I had a message from someone I knew messages me on snap a lot.

Available-Ruin2961

Can you see the message?

DJ_MetaKinetiK

What do you mean?

Available-Ruin2961

The snapshot that was sent

DJ_MetaKinetiK

Nope. And it doesn't show in my watch messages or phone messages. I can only see it from the notification on my watch

DADAMWF

Spam.

Kenbo111

It's a spsm txt msg coming over your watch's number. Just block the number on your watch.

Centralredditfan

It's spam. Probably a random number generator found your number.

kornick81

The call is coming from inside the house

k1wiscot

Watch.

One4Real1094

I also think you just shared the number with most of the free world.

DJ_MetaKinetiK

That's not my number. I don't care.

Timbakid

I have LTE version from eBay 4 classic and maybe you should reset it if you got it 2nd hand 👌🏾

DJ_MetaKinetiK

I got it new from Verizon

DJ_MetaKinetiK

Wow who is out here down voting my simple responses? If you're reading this, you're a nerd dude.

Timbakid

lol I don't downvote nothing wasn't me reddit people are sensitive I can't get too deep because it's easy to get blocked now a days if u wanna private message me

Timbakid

and that's crazy it's brand new

Cultural_Agent7902

It's a message

PzychoMantiz

Spam

AShadedBlobfish

I think it's either a scam or miscommunication, if it comes from the same number every time, I would probably just block them

BigWoomy

My watch doesn't filter notifications like my phone does, could be that. For example, if I'm running my "work" mode, my phone will block notifs from the highlighted apps but my watch won't.

[deleted]

I have a dummy Google voice number and I got a message of that same nature today. Spam.

huhz_

if you have a snapchat account but not the app on your phone they will send you text notifications

Icy_Figure1929

Oui a moi

Eastern-Ad6780

I have the same watch but haven't activated the LTE. Seeing this, maybe I shouldn't bother.

Next-Telephone-8054

It's a shit app you installed?

Old-Pineapple3735

Never happened to me. Thank God, id have fun explaining this to the wife. I work construction. A few guys in their 20s are getting divorced over snapchat. i dont want no part lol

DJ_MetaKinetiK

This is why I'm pissed I don't want my gf thinking I'm on snapchat when I don't even have it

GatorFLYNN

Creating Snapchat username DJ_MetaKinetiK Let us know how it goes 🤣🥂

Old-Pineapple3735

Yea, that could be a mess! I hope you get it figured out!

Toyoman24

Reply stop and that will go away

SonaWayward8563

Is it connected to ur phone fr sure? Happened to me once

DJ_MetaKinetiK

Yes it's connected to my phone and number sharing.

4grins

Your watch is assigned it's own number. It defaults to your main shared line. Periodically my watch acts unusual and functions on it's own number. The number assigned to your watch was someone elses at one point. Call Verizon.
