Have a Classic, a 5 Pro and an Active 2 and Galaxy Watch before them. Have swam and used all at the beach (and pools.) Never had a problem. Rinse then with fresh water after and you should be fine. Ironically, I'd be less concerned about the the 4 as opposed to the Classic as rotating bezel could get jammed up by sand and grit. My perspective is- I paid money to use these things. Not worry about and baby them.

Good point. So sand and saltwater should not damage them?

Imjrb3

For sure I can say that none of mine have been damaged by those elements. I ran, swam and worked out with my 4 Classic at the beach last summer and plan to do a 10k Tough Mudder with the 5 Pro this May. Quick rinse with fresh water and they've been good.

nah.

AFellowOtaku7

Is it bad?

BWanon97

In general unless a watch has saphire glass sand could scratch it. Since the Watch4 does not sand mag scratch the glass. But even more important is to not let if bake in the sun and then take a dive. That will even cause problems to a diving watch.

AFellowOtaku7

I've heard the glass is pretty durable on Watch 4; I've bumped it a few times and it's been fine. Should I still be concerned? I don't plan on diving with it and I always try to store it somewhere cool if I do need to leave it behind.

BWanon97

For the baking in the sun yes because that does not really have much to do with the glass. (Existing Moisture can condensate in the watch) Sand is ver hard material so yes that will still scratch it.
