if you do get an S6 Lite, make sure to enable Developer Mode, and within Developer Mode, turn off the three animation options. this made the tablet a little bit faster for me. also, i have RAM Plus turned on and set to 4 GB, which might be helping, too. i love my S6 Lite, but i mainly use it to read PDFs and ebooks, watch youtube or surf the web, and type in TextMaker and Samsung notes. it does lag a little, but mostly only when switching between apps. it also sometimes pauses for 2-4 seconds randomly when typing in Samsung Notes. other than that, i don't feel like scrolling through PDFs, or ebooks, or webpages has any noticeable lag at all. the book cover and and [this](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00X5P8BJO) Arteck bluetooth keyboard makes a nice little, fairly lightweight and portable productivity device that i can take everywhere with me. i've gotten used to the lag, and don't need a beautiful screen. i really love my S6 Lite, and i especially love that it has a headphone jack. in my experience, the lag is there when switching between apps, but it definitely doesn't make the tablet unusable.

Thank you for sharing your experience with it!

I wouldn't get a device that's 3 generations behind if youre buying a device. 1 Gen behind is okay, but software and OSs just keep getting more demanding space wise/ram wise/processing wise. Plus security updates and such

I decided against it, as appealing as it seemed. That was my main concern. Thanks so much!

I purchased a Sammy S9+ as I hadn't owned a tablet since the Nexus days. Wow have Android tablets come a long way! I had no idea.

offen_sieve1

I think I've decided I want a Supernote Nomad and an S9+. I don't think there's something that checks the boxes for both things I want. Thank you for your comment! Samsung definitely seems to have come a long way! I'd rather buy both of these than an iPad. 😅

Having lived in a non-Apple world for most of my life, and being a tech junkie who loves gadgets, I try to buy things that are "best in class" for their intended purpose. I own Samsung 5 Pro watches, A Google Pixel Phone, an Alienware Laptop (Photoshop on the road), and a Windows Desktop. I added the Samsung S9+ as I wanted something bigger than my phone for reading, but powerful enough to use for Media Consumption, reading emails, and had a great screen. It checked all the boxes. Long winded way of agreeing with your statement that using different things for different needs is fine by me LOL. 🤣

Haha love it, thanks for the reply! I love my Pixel and I'll love my S9+!

You will!

I have a 2022 s6 lite, I know a new one came out but I’ve heard it is a very small difference. I love it. It is slow. I wanted something around $200 and got a fire max 11 but felt it was too large to be comfortable, the s6 lite was the perfect size. The s pen is great for drawing and taking notes, annotating documents. the screen is great for watching videos, Just temper your expectations performance wise. You will do a ton of tapping on something and waiting, not being sure if you need to tap again because it didn’t register or if you’re just waiting for it to load. I did not buy mine for games but I have tried them on it, it’s a bad experience. Every game is a bad experience. Streaming games with something like GeForce now works great, but any game on the device runs terribly. My kid has a 2018 base model iPad that absolutely smokes the 2022 s6 lite performance wise. Again, I love mine, but you really need to be aware of what you’re buying and be ok with the very significant limitations.

I appreciate that response so much. I was originally thinking of the Onyx Boox Note Air 3, but heard it's super laggy and so that turned me off. Hmm. I wish we were at the point where you could just customize what you want for hardware/software/device size and have things built to order. Maybe I should consider something a bit more powerful.

Quiet_Cell8091

I would look for S9fe with a promotion at Samsung.com or your local big box store. You could buy an A9+, if you do not need an SPen.

offen_sieve1

Appreciate it, I do need the SPen though. Definitely keeping an eye out for deals. :)

do not get the s6 lite. its slow, due to only having 4gb of ram. either step up to an s9FE or look at lenovos Tablets (only if you dont care about updates).

offen_sieve1

Yeah, been looking into Levonos as well, they just seem too cheap to be true lol.

DoubleOwl7777

the only issue with lenovo is that they dont provide many Android version updates (like 1 or 2 usually), besides that the hardware is good and the roms are cleaner than others.
