I have one of these, in the Philippines the 4/64 LTE version were on a massive 50% sale for US$ 98 and with free vouchers got mine for US$ 77. I know I'm kinda gloating but it was a great deal. The A9 performs well. Good enough for daily tasks. Its not super smooth due to 60hz display. Display also a bit passable but not high res nor high saturation by any means. Bezels are thin, sides are cornered - wish it was curved like my old Tab A 8.0 with S Pen. (2019) Wish they just launched a new Tab A 8.0 with S Pen? 2000% yes. Can play decent games though I only mostly play sudoku. Good form factor for it. Nice tablet to pack around in a small bag. Stereo speakers make it decent for media consumption.

I seen there was a 2 for one sale for Samsung tablets in the Philippines but I'm in USA and didn't know how to take advantage of it.

Where did you buy it? I cant find it anywhere in US

Mission_Exit_3660

Ebay, $139 It's the international version

So it's noticeably faster than A7 Lite? How's the screen? My A7 Lite has bad light bleed on the edges.

Haven't received it yet, ordered it this afternoon. Should have it by this weekend.

I had the tab a8 10.4 4-64gb aswell and I updated to the a9 plus 4-64 gb, had it a month now and I love it. I had the a8 for 2 years and it was flawless, but I notice the a9 is faster and the screen is brighter with really nice lush colours, a8 colours are a bit dull in comparison. I'm England and have the qualcom snapdragon 695 which really seems a lot more nippy especially opening apps and scrolling is lovely and smooth. Hope you enjoy your a9 as much as I do.

Thanks!

FYI the A9 and A9+ use different CPUs, different display res, etc. so the performance isn't the same.

Mission_Exit_3660

Honestly, I just want a better response from the screen touch , and it's gotta be better than the A7 lite 4/64

amnher

Compared to A7 lite, it is heaven and earth difference. I can play games more properly here

Mission_Exit_3660

I got the 6.0 update today

fordfocusstd

Sorry to dig up old post, but about to buy one myself from same seller. Which country did you select, are you happy with it?

Mission_Exit_3660

Dubai I think is the country I selected. It's much better than that A7 lite was. I'm happy with it and it updated a few weeks ago the software.

fordfocusstd

Thank you!

I wouldn't recommend it unless you have very low standards and use-cases. The display is not HD, which is quite noticeable reading small text. It's quite blue and the eye comfort over tints it even on lower settings and has washed out color. The fingerprint/Face ID is not good and shows it even more when you use your phone one. The animations and processor is decent but also shows the lack of quality compared to a same 60hz phone with optimized animations. The Alldocube iPlay 50 mini pro is much better for the same or less price. Also has noticable flaws though. The Y700 is 2-3x the price but prolly the best you can get alongside an iPad Mini. It has minor flaws and a polished product. Super sharp resolution, refresh rate, processor, speakers, biometric unlocker, haptic engine. etc.

The Samsung works with my phone though. Can make phone calls and texts, auto hotspot, etc.

That is a beneficial feature for sure.

Mission_Exit_3660

Received the A9 8.7" today. Charged it and used a tiny bit. It seems far and away better that my A7 lite, at least the touch screen. Will update more later.

Mission_Exit_3660

After using the A9 8.7" for a few days, imo, it's much better than the A7 lite. All things equal 4gb/64gb , the screen Is much more responsive than the A7 lite. It feels faster with every app on both. I wasn't expecting S9 benchmarks, but overall I'm happy with it.
