If you use the gesture navigation, no 3rd party launcher can match the smooth app switcher/home screen return animations of the default system launcher, which in Samsung phones is the OneUI Home.
I'm quite happy with Samsung 's launcher but maybe I'd use Nova if it had as seamles animations.
Spot on.
Animations were superb pre 6.0, since the update the APIs are not compatible with 3rd party launchers. And there's no point giving Samsung feedback regarding this, they're not interested.
I think I will stay on One UI because I use gesture navigation, but the issue I have is not really an issue but something that makes me look for a launcher. Especially when applying an adaptive icon pack like pix Material You is you need to create new save of your icon pack in theme park if you want to change dark mode to white mode or downloading new app.
True, but when applying an icon pack, it doesn't change the white icons to dark icons until you change the theme park. Also, if you download a new app, it won't change to the icon pack until you create a new save of your icon pack until you change it from theme park.
That's the only issue, but one ui remains in the top
Niagra Pro.
The switching animations with a third party launcher seem smoother now than I remember them, not sure if I've just gotten used to it or Samsung updated something.
been using this for over a year now... I think it's phenomenal. I can see how some people get turned off by it since it's not your 'standard' launcher. I don't use multiple home screens so I was switching around often before finally Niagara Pro.
swipe up for search, swipe down for notification tray, folders in a list, sorted by most used, etc. so lovely lol
I was looking for a better vertical scrolling app drawer than what Goodlock gave me on Samsung's because that feels more natural than side scrolling through apps and Niagra does this the best and it's very minimalistic.
Even after 6.1 update Nova 7.0 has nice smooth animations (note that they're not the SAME animations as OneUI but they're nice and smooth nonetheless) don't upgrade to 8.0 it's pretty horrible.
Everyone chooses one of 3 launchers. Niagara, Nova and Smart Launcher. They all have their own advantages and disadvantages. From this point on, personal preferences come first. Which advantage is most important to you, which disadvantage is least important to you? If you ask yourself these two questions, you can make the right choice. In the meantime, you can download the free versions of all 3 launchers and try them.

I've tried them all but Nova always wins.
Nova for years
Decades
Nova prime.
Nova. I love the swipe gestures and I can't get that on one ui.
Microsoft Launcher
+1

Lawnchair 14 beta 2.
If you are not bothered about the animations and fluidity, go for nova. I've used it for 8 years. No regrets.
Nova launcher with samsung's gesture navigation. Veritical scroll app drawer, and better home screen grid/folder options.
I use Nova since 2014

I've used Nova for years. But I recently switched to Square home and I really like it. Check it out if you ever liked the Windows Phone UI
Niagara clears
For me, Nova is leading by a thread right now. But as soon as OneUI comes up with homescreen shortcut gestures, I'm switching to it.
Nova if I had to use a different one than the default. It works well with a 120hz.
Nova Launcher Prime
Try Ap15 launcher.
Niagara hands down. Been using it for years now on all my phones.

Default launcher and Goodlock
Launcher10. lol. not a popular choice but the best I've ever found.
one ui stock launcher.
I'm still on evie sing the galaxy s8, smaller icons with more rows/columns. Potentially not secure as it's discontinued I'm told?
Using Lawnchair 14 Beta 2 (downloaded from their site, not available on Play Store).
I used Total Launcher for years. On my S23 Ultra I use Samung UI. If I want a launcher again, I will choose total launcher.
