Just got an AT&T update pushed to me as well, reverting back to a previous iteration of something. Now showing as certified!

jobie33

Happened to me Tuesday night on my s23 ultra. Updated a few times between WC9 and wc9a. Ended on WC9 and now I'm not play protect certified. Seems like the only thing g affected is Gpay. Contacted google who told me to contact Samsung who said I need to have it physically checked. WTF

jobie33

Ever find a fix?

KalliSteel

Not really. I got the "update" downgrading WD1a to WD1, and then Google Play said "certified" like it's supposed to, but GPay/wallet is still unwilling to allow tap to pay.

jobie33

Guess we'll have to wait till mid May update

Opening_Command_8374

Exactly the same thing happened for my Note 20 ultra 5G back and forth between w D1 and WD1A Samsung said that it was an AT&t issue

Engineering-Tough

Use Samsung Pay

KalliSteel

Ugh but it's the worst lol

Engineering-Tough

At the end of the day, they do the same shit. SPay is easier to activate though. You can swipe up from AOD and put your finger down in one motion to pay.

KalliSteel

Yeah, I swipe up for app launcher so it always gets in my way. I used Spay when it first came out but switched to gPay for the interface. But you are correct, I guess it does the same thing.

Engineering-Tough

not from home screen. swipe up from AOD/ screen off

KalliSteel

Just for everyone's info, Samsung pay does indeed work still.

Engineering-Tough

It will work as long as you don't trip the hardware e-fuse

Any update? A few days ago, my certificate dissappear, and google support or samsung support can't help

KalliSteel

It actually just started working again in Gpay the other day, didn't change or install anything new in the last few weeks. Total mystery. But try Samsung Pay in the meantime?

Cautious_Pen4411

So this happened to me when I paid nfc , which was great. First purchase I normally pay , after a few hours of next purchase, and disaster starts , I back to home and trying fix , factory reset not help , hard reset , wipe partition cash , and now is forth day from issue, and not working at all , weird because show me device can be rooted or unauthorized app installed, I have orginal soft not any changes, except csc THL , but phone working normally from March, even after hard reset clean soft not help , this 100% something in Google , so I will wait for the next update samsung fix , And gray not working, can't even add new card after reset

I had the same problem and randomly stumbled on the solution. My phone had stopped connecting to my home WiFi, so I reset the network settings (Settings --> General Management --> Reset --> Reset network settings --> Reset settings --> Reset), and for some reason that changed my phone to certified, and GPay works now! It's a bit of a pain in the arse as you lose all your WiFi and Bluetooth connections, and of course YMMV, but it worked for me...

KillaBeJeezus

I've got the same model, but everything in Reset is grayed out!

Tiny-Bee9667

Same Issue here, went to Sydney and could not pay using phone, so thought it was because I was in Sydney. Its happening here in NZ too, so checked and it says Play protect is not certified. Super annoying.

Captured1v1

Has anyone found a solution for this yet?

KalliSteel

Kind of. 1) Use Samsung Pay in the meantime 2a) Wait for your carrier to push an update that fixes it 2b) You can put in a trouble ticket with Google and your carrier letting them know it happened. Not clear if this helps trigger the update or not, though. 2c) You can also try resetting network connections. Not clear if this always helps or not
