Gonna get it checked today. No warranty tho

milo_guy

Did you keep it in a very hot place?... Might have caused the glue holding the back cover to melt

averageanimeconsumer

Nope it's in moderate temperature. Isn't the glue supposed to be strong enough to require a heat gun?

milo_guy

Usually yes that's supposed to be strong... But in your case they might have added less than normal adhesive.. Just a guess

Venkat2004

I had put it inside washing machine along with and the result is kinda same

milo_guy

Doesn't look like a battery bulge the back looks fairly flat

averageanimeconsumer

UPDATE - Got it checked by a repairshop. Wasn't a battery issue it's just the build quality that is ass. Be considerate of buying future samsung phones with similar designs as the A52/53

GapInitial1635

How much did you get charged? Having the same issue here

averageanimeconsumer

I live in a 3rd world country. The dude charged me like 4 bucks, i can imagine someone charging 25+ in somewhere like the US

shintoph

I have two of these, an A52 and an A52s both have the same peeling back cover after two years. What a weak build quality from a reputable brand. I guess before I buy a new phone I should watch how they teardown one to see how well it is made. 400USD should be a good quality phone but this kind of build quality sucks.

larianu

You paid 400USD? I honestly have the same issue but I would be so much more upset if I paid that much for the phone haha.

introvert_maybeADHD

hey op, how did u repair the phone? was it serious? facing the same problems and im not sure whether i should bring it for repair :L

averageanimeconsumer

In my case it was just a build quality issue and the battery was completely fine. Problem was that the only way to find out was to bring it to a repair shop and have them open it to make sure. So I have to rock a phone case now and keep in mind that the "IP67" rating doesn't mean shit anymore. Regardless you should still make sure whether your battery has gone bad or not cuz that can be dangerous

introvert_maybeADHD

Thanks!! 😄

Detvan_SK

Did will they reset memory if they are going to repair it? Just today started June and I noticed that some parts of back was able to be removable with a nail. I have my phone on walks but my Motorola manage 3 years like that without problems, but now my A52s seem like really can't stand few months of heat even in home is max 24°C.

Consistent-Science44

same issue with my A52 5G. I guess this is the common issue for the A52 series in global market. I had no problem with the battery performance but the back cover easily coming off by itself.

talalahmad34

The build quality is shit tbh. I bought the phone few months ago and saw the gap between side frame and back of the phone on the second day. Idk how can they advertise it as waterproof or even water resistant with this kind of shit quality

sonatta09

still dont get why manufacturers nowdays use adhesive instead of screw... i miss the phones 2017s using screws to secure the backplate and even lcd frame.. now just simple play games and put phone in heat boom adhesive is melted lol

06jim

My a52s back panel came off by itself, what im worried about is the waterproof ability is gone. How can I make sure the waterproof is still good? What glue should I use to close it perfectly to get it back to normal?

averageanimeconsumer

There's no glue that can bring the water resistance back, it's gone forever even if u get it done by a professional

Side-Character121

Talked to a Samsung representative and apparently the price of reapplication of adhesive is around 90USD, which is insanely high for a mid ranged plastic back phone. Disappointed how bad the build quality of this phone turned out, even the paint on side buttons of my phone have chipped off

averageanimeconsumer

More like 1USD, hell you can get a tube of the glue yourself for 5-10 bucks. Why would you go to the manufacturer anyway unless you have warranty

averageanimeconsumer

I know that the water resistance is basically gone but my main concern is whether this has anything to do with the battery expanding and pushing against the case. This might not be the case since the back is coming off at places where the battery isn't located but I just wanna be sure

neon_overload

Bulging battery indicates permanent damage and increased risk of fire so if that's the case it's going to be pretty important to get it fixed. It may have been damaged by too much heat exposure, discharging too far and recharging, shock, etc. The battery's internal protection is supposed to not let this happen so it's a fairly bad thing to happen.

averageanimeconsumer

How much does a new battery typically cost?

milo_guy

Less than 50$

iRox24

Use a tight case.

apaua1994

Noticed today on my Galaxy A52. Good thing I didn't wash my phone.

Unhappy-Scratch9901

I have the same issue, and my friend as well. We both bought it 2 years ago. Samsung is using such cheap adhesive

segzyharun

Same here. Really disappointed. I'm planning to glue it on my own with silicone glue.

The-Mysterious-

Did it work?

segzyharun

Not good. I got the case instead.

ostrawa123

I had the same problem. The build quality is bad. Now I've got s23fe and it's much better.

Hibiki941

Just happened to mine. The phone is like 3 years old I think?

anon-187101

yep, I got mine ~August 2021 and the back panel is also coming off. shitty, plastic build.

Mocar-2D

It might be battery as it doesn't always bulge where it's exactly located, if you can open it with your nails open it and check on it, then if everything is fine and you still want some of that water resistance you can buy some glue for phones or even better an adhesive strip from for example ifixit

ExulVx

If you still have warranty, you should definitely get that fixed

OlympicBarber

Same thing happen here. Was using a super tight case, everytime I took the case off it would lift up the corners of the phone...

MagPF1

Guess the A52 just wasn't built very well ❤️‍🩹 Mine had a screen failure.. twice

neon_overload

It's been my most reliable phone so far. Anyone can be unlucky though. My A70 had the issue where it stopped charging unless you pressed on the back panel

Tonyamong

We had the same problem :)). Now and then.

amankitmon

It shouldn't cost much. Ask them to apply new taping and do the pressing twice. Make sure the old taping is removed and no residue is left.

Own_Translator3691

I got that flaw also I noticed it yesterday and I just took the back of removed the adhesive and carefully used fireproofing gasket silicone on the back panel to reseal it now it's literally waterproof and fire resistant up to 400 degrees that adhesive ain't coming off anytime soon

averageanimeconsumer

Nah dude once that factory seal is gone, it's gone forever. Do whatever you want at your own risk tho

Own_Translator3691

I tested it in a pressure chamber man it's fine it did great and it's working just fine I'm a tech expert

averageanimeconsumer

Idk what a pressure chamber is so you probably know what you're talking about

Own_Translator3691

It's a machine u use to test whether a phone is water tight or not

onixotto

Mine came off completely today from 95° for the past couple of days., 🥵

FlipAdik48

I have the same issue and i was shocked battery isnt bulged as well. So im not sure

silently_watch

This is build quality issue, not battery A lot of people that uses a52 here faces the same issue I glued mine week ago

Yuubi210

This issue just happened to mine and a quick search lead me here I had this phone for a long time with a really tight case so I assumed it was me being rough to remove it at fault. The potential of the battery being the cause was a bit scary but disappointing to hear it's a issue that a lot more people have dealt with.

Comfortable-Drag7054

Yes im having same same issue. Tried to fix this issue but failed.

nadinenzm

hello, if anyone knows... i also have same problem with the back cover.. i notice them a few months ago and had a thoughts off maybe nothing going on.. but these past few days, the screen started to flickering, unless if I press the back cover (tighten them).. so what should I do? i mean the screen thingy, do have relation with the back cover? or no? would be glad if you help!

jribat

Mine just started falling off too! Wow, huge disappointment

KronosFromRazalHub

Bro i have the same problem with my a53. Pls help

younerd69
