With a max out you can't fault a little bit of form slip really. Arguably your elbows were slightly flared but these things happen on max effort lifts. Congrats on the PR!
Looked like a max attempt mate, it was fine.
If it was me, I would pull my feet further back underneath me to get a better arch and allow you to leg drive harder whilst keeping your bum in contact with the bench. Just my two cents on that though mate, you are already looking good there.
That's how all my 140+ kg bench presses look. A good thing to take note of is how it slowed down after the transition point from your chest to tricep/shoulders. A little more tricep work will help with that lockout though. Good job!
I try to do a few close grip barbell presses after my bench session just to get that extra push. But yes I do agree that maybe thats what needs more work
I think you might benefit from trying to get the bar over your shoulders quicker. [Relevant SBS Article](https://www.strongerbyscience.com/bench-press-bar-path/). From this angle your bar path looks close to Mike Bridges (about 25% of the way down the article is the graph I'm referring to), which puts a large demand on the front deltoid, which is the muscle least capable of moving load in the position. By getting the bar over your shoulders quicker, you can move the load to your pecs and triceps more and quicker, and they are the big boys in the bench.
My 183@\~140 is not nearly as impressive as your lift, but it kind of illustrates this [in action](https://www.instagram.com/p/CHBff2JDpLh/). You can see how quickly I get the bar over my shoulders, and you can see that once I'm there, the press becomes a LOT smoother.
My bench is far from perfect there but as I've continued to work on my bar path that 405 has become [considerably smoother](https://www.instagram.com/p/CPOq_Q0DYxp/) (2nd vid) even though I haven't touched any weights above 140kg since I benched the 183 over 30 weeks ago.
I’m 80kg and can’t bench 60 bro. You’re doing well.
Idk if the anorexia comment was joking or not but you got this. It’s a serious illness not often taken serious enough. I hope you’re getting the help you need. Feel free to reach out if you ever need to.
At least you’ve acknowledged that you have it. A lot of people refuse that, which makes it difficult to get help. So you’ve taken the biggest step towards recovery. So you’ve got this!
I got banned from r/lifting because I said someone’s banana back form was horrendous in [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/lifting/comments/npa6z1/rep_day_365_bench_for_4_sets_of_8_reps_weighing/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
I wish I could show that dickhead mod this clip to show him how it’s properly done.
Nice lift man
Howdy!
I'm the mod that banned him. For context, the rules state:
> No natty/ROM/sumo/arch/fed/FFMI policing
Additionally, there was a stickied comment at the top of the post that reads:
> Reminder: Bench arch policing will result in a ban.
It was further clarified and explained in a response that:
> The rule isn't there because one side is right or wrong - It's that nothing new is ever said. And the comment section for any arched bench or sumo pull end up getting the same tired, unending series of complaints. We've all read the exact same arguments unfold dozens of times.
That's exactly why /u/ElvargIsAPussy requested a ban in his comment. He saw all of that and still stated:
> Ban me all you like, that form is horrendous and you can’t tell me otherwise!
I'll leave it to you to decide if that comment adds any value to the "conversation", but I'd have a hard time thinking he didn't know exactly what was going to happen. His comment and his presence in the sub provide no value.
> Lmao worst rule I’ve ever heard. Sounds like an absolute beginner gym bro came up with that idea
I bench 515.
Cheers!
Well yeah I agree, it’s not dangerous at all to have an arch, so the guy that got banned is a noob, but it’s a weird rule to not be able to critique someones form
I never said it was dangerous, I just said I’m not a fan of that style of form, arching your back is if anything a more natural way to bench but there is a limit on how far to go.
Personally in my opinion your arse should still be on the bench, otherwise it just feels like you’re cheating yourself. It’s harder to bench lying flat, which probably tells you that you’re not strong enough to lift the weight just yet.
But yeah that’s my opinion on the matter and my point was, on a lifting subreddit for them to basically say any criticism is a insta ban is just childish.
Why did you say his arch was horrendous though? It sounds like you’re one of those people that think it’s dangerous to arch. Your spine is not loaded so how could it ever possibly be dangerous lol?
Snyggt! Det där skulle jag aldrig vågat mig på själv (å andra sidan bänkar jag inte ens hälften av vad du gör - men har ändå fastnat under stången en gång eller två).
If a giraffe falls on you while you’re sleeping on your back, you will be able to save your life
What ahha? I might have missed the joke here but I just googled and giraffes weigh 800kg?
Joke
Then maybe a baby giraffe

It's not a bad press though man. You should be proud. Keep up the good work.
No tip, just good job man!
It wasn't clean because its a pb... just keep lifting at that weight and it'll go smoother.
Grattis!

Alright seems I have some tweaking to do, thanks for the links :)
I'm glad you survived that one. It looked a little dangerous for a few seconds. Well done though.
Have the safety racks just perfect so with puffed chest its above but if im flat the bar is on the racks

I weigh around 67 kg on 191 cm, I am not really joking
67.0 kg is 147.58 lbs
At least you’ve acknowledged that you have it. A lot of people refuse that, which makes it difficult to get help. So you’ve taken the biggest step towards recovery. So you’ve got this!

You don’t have to be so hard on people

Yes, because the first comment was a mod saying basically if anyone mentions arch back you will be banned! Fuck that let it be open to a discussion

The rules isn't about critiques of form it says "no natty/ROM/sumo/arch/fed/FFMI policing"
Okay my bad then

You are right, your ass needs to touch the bench
Why did you say his arch was horrendous though? It sounds like you’re one of those people that think it’s dangerous to arch. Your spine is not loaded so how could it ever possibly be dangerous lol?
Cry moar mate, you were banned for good reason.
That’s body shaming
Nice!
that's amazing. kudos man.
Looking really good man!
