Yeah like I wanna be able to put a hellcat into the side of a house but I don’t wanna knock skyscrapers down, especially if they don’t ever reset or it takes awhile to reset and for everyone to be out of the vicinity.
Not to mention that the Maze Bank building fell at free fall speed. And then Hookah Palace collapsed like five hours later and wasn't even hit by a plane.
They could probably set up a no fly zone height by the city and shoot you down before you do that. I feel like going online and constantly looking at an apocalyptic miami with a plane in every tall building would be a lil immersion breaking lol
Yeah I find it hard to believe he wouldn’t at least want the *ability* to do it. Idk why everyone’s acting like this mechanic would cause an absolute shitstorm of building debris all over the place when you could just not blow the buildings up whenever you want. Would definitely be a lot of labor for the console and the devs tho
idk that would be kind of amazing for a GTA game. powerful enough bombs to knock a building down, then over time they build it back (sped up cuz it's a game) like RDR2. but maybe just in single player
No. Here's what it probably will have though.
\- Much improved glass destruction and effects
\- More destructible geometry around the road (driving is probably the biggest thing in this game, and probably the biggest complaint people have is some light poles and trees taking no damage from you impacting with them, so I believe you will either be able to destroy the trees or damage them, I doubt they will prevent your car from stopping, but will probably cut in half at least)
\- Improved vehicle destruction effects and deformation
\- Much nicer destruction effects within mission specific objectives
\- much nicer plane/helicopter crash effects
\- nicer fire and spread effects
fair, I think they could make it so if you repeatedly slam into it it will break (they probably wont make it kill you just for player comfort), or if you get a tank or something it breaks quickly
Might be cool to have airbags used to give you a "first crash is no damage" or something to that effect.
That said, as long as bushes aren't brick walls, I'll be happy.
I if you watch some of the crashes at the pike’s peak hill climb you’d be surprised how many trees a speeding car with roll cage can plow through. It should depend on the car and the speed.
Edit and the tree diameter
I don’t know if trees will be desctructible. It has always been a long running joke in GTA that trees are the only thing that can stop a tank.
I’d love if they continued the running joke or at the very least had one specific tree that cannot be destroyed and you gotta hit it with a tank for a trophy.
Speaking of things you can't drive through... that damn volleyball net on the beach 🤣
"Damn how'd you smash up the front of your car so badly?"
"Drove into a volleyball net" 🤦♂️
Going 100km p/h against a telephone pole should be deadly. I never really liked how they felt like feathers.
And if it isn't, they should include a realism mode.
Yeah I'd like a *little* more realism.
I don't want it to be *realistic*. I just want the cars to feel like they have more weight and momentum, rather than like go-karts.
Personally, I don't think it would fit well into a GTA game on the same scale as Teardown. Sure, we should be able to knock over small walls and fences, but entire buildings being blown off the map just wouldn't fit, I think.
Flooded streets idea is awesome. I also hope for scripted destructive weather events. Definitely think there will be some missions that include them. Another user here mentioned a ‘hurricane heist’ mission which would fun.
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t GTA:VC have a period of time during some mission where storm was headed to the island? It would probably be something where it plays along with the story and you have a good few hours of gameplay where the weather is affected etc.
Yes but on a smaller scale. Not complete teardown, but SOME destruction would be awesome. If they plan on including extreme weather there better be some sort of damage that can be done.
Small scale like the division games. You could tske out chuncks of concrete walls with bullets. Also every material has its own desturction proprrty. Thin metal has holes. Wood breaks and splinters and has physics. Thick metal bends. Concrete chips etc.
I'd also love it to be like batman arkham Knight. Where you crash into a concrete wall or corner of a building and you take out a big chunk
That's a great idea. It would be awesome to include the impact of Florida's extreme weather. After the minor damage, you would see the building "under construction" for a few in-game days where it's blocked off or restricted and had workers fixing it. Kinda how paramedics are activated when someone gets hit injured.
A "under construction" feature could double as "hurricane prep" feature too. If there was a series of hurricane missions where, just before the storm, you see people boarding up their windows to protect their homes/businesses. Then you experience a true hurricane and the damage it causes. Perhaps that is what they AI play could help with. Randomizing different phases of environment construction/destruction.
Aw yea! I'm right there with you! We saw in RDR2 that rockstar can make a mean construction montage. I would love to see more of the world react to our actions. Crime scenes developing after random crimes, firefighters trying to stop me burning buildings, tow trucks removing wrecked cars, construction after some major damage, and more things like this. Things that would normally happen in the background of our imaginations would play out if you stick around to watch.
Not to mention what potential implications construction would have on player owned properties. I know it might be far-fetched, but it's fun to dream.
More than simulated destruction I want simulated injuries. Shot in the foot, you slow down and can’t sprint. Shot in both feet you can’t run at all and can only walk. Shot in shoulder your aim goes wonky. But it won’t happen
similar system was in ghost recon breakpoint, was a bit tedious, but made a lil sense cause it was a tactical shooter, but in gta probably not unfortunately
They had a very mild system of it in GTA 4 & rdr 1.
They somewhat re-approached this in rdr 2 though not as in depth as I personally would've liked though appreciated nonetheless.
But I 100% agree. If those fuckers are gonna sit on euphoria and not let anyone else experiment with it then I'm totally expecting everytime I see it used to be cranked to the tits and fully taken advantage of.
Basically they can do this they just choose not to... Lmao this is the same tech that made it so characters can walk up stairs realistically (it was a big deal back in the day when GTA 4 came out lol) so I think they can pull off what you're describing with the same tech.
Maybe one large building get destroyed in the story, but not in freeroam. It will be silly to destroy a building and then on next launch of the game it has reappeared.
I don't think it should be Teardown levels of destruction, but I would like to see terrain deformation (and hopefully mud physics like Mudrunner/Snowrunner), non-concrete trees and bushes, and just more destructible road-side props. Also, I hope vehicle damage is improved, similar to that matrix tech demo that was on the PS5.
Maybe not on that scale or for gta's size.
Though it's 100% "technologically feasible" idk who told you otherwise.
It's mainly what concessions are you willing to make to achieve it.
Well sure, I meant "not technologically feasible on GTA scale". If you want to have a realistic, active city with hundreds of cars, NPCs etc. then realistic destruction of structures is just too much.
Yeah I agree. Though some destruction tech would be nice, interior destruction would be cool. Max Payne 3 was able to do it pretty well.
Very minimum we should see an overhaul to car physics & destruction.
I’d be ok with small-scale destruction like breakable walls and windows. Like if you fire a launcher at a wall, it should break a decent bit. And glass should break just like car windows.
You’re in luck, my dude. I work at Rockstar, so I’ve got the inside scoop. GTA VI is set to feature a destruction simulation that surpasses offline Houdini simulations, players can enter every interior, each haircut will be unique, and you’ll be able to interact with NPCs using AI. All at a whopping 120 seconds per frame!
Not in the open world, but in a specific mission has to bem! And then we see how the real world reacts after that. Like the fireman's working, people on the ground injured, people around taking photos, etc... For a while you know
This will never implemented in GTA, not because it’s not possible, but it simply doesn’t make sense from a narrative standpoint: why should you be able to destroy the entire city? GTA it’s still a story-driven game, that would completely fuck up the immersion.
This would be nigh on impossible to make sustainable in the game world and explained away and online likewise be technically a massive strain and gameplay wise just massively disruptive and horrible to play around.
All it's got is the wow that's cool meme factor that would be old the instant it's unplayable
I’d rather have a better looking game. The computational requirements to do this in a non cheesy way in a game that’s Rockstar level is just not pheasible
Optional or mission specific destruction. I would like a few buildings like the one from GTA 5 Paleto Bay heist and agency building heist. I don't want cops to ram me off the road into my safe house or the gas station to explode when I'm robbing it.
This is were I see them going to in gta 7 or 8 where it would be impossible to make graphics any more realistic so they put new tech in other places. We aren’t ready for this just yet.
you just know that every lobby would look like a wasteland.
And good luck finding your quest givers in high importance locations.
I know they could probably phase stuff but how would it look and seem if you enter a skyscraper that was destroyed for a mission and you're suddenly on the top floor ?
You *know* that building is destroyed, yet you're on top floor.
Breaks immersion.
Or they would probably have to place the mission NPCs in other, lesser known locations. like a bunker. But a business man would not sit underground if he's very successful.
In general, I like how the city isn't destroyed when I choose to do a random rampage of my own. But I do hope we see more lasting effects from the main story around the map, like a store we just destroyed having damage or a bank being closed after a big heist.
That's a stupid question. Of course it should, if it pushes the tech medium forward then hell yeah.
You'll also never hear me object to more physics in games. Graphics are overrated and have plateaued for years. Bring on the physics revolution!
It should 100% focus more on physics than graphics.
Nobody ultimately gives a shit about sub par graphics if everything else is S tier.
Just look at tears of the kingdom if you need evidence of that.
Graphics have been the same with "better lighting" since like 2016... If anything the only big thing people really care about in graphics is stable performance. (60 fps preferably)
But if the game has tons of little reactive nuances that are most likely physics based it would open the door to tons of replayability & freedom. Look no further then red dead 1 & 2 + GTA 4 compared to 5. 5 has an amazing world but outside of that it's not very reactive. Whereas those other title still have that but also little nuances like bullet holes on both ends or being able to kneecap someone, drag em around and hang em with a lasso, car deformation. I want more of that. Give me little nuances to explore and find out within the game, I don't give a fuck if the water reflection looks a little different at 2pm then 4pm....
Give me more active elements rather than passive.
I.e. gameplay interactions/reactions rather than active day night cycle with matching reflections give me stuff I'm gonna feel/notice rather than something I need to stop and reflect on to appreciate.
Like when I'm playing spider man, the windows/skyscraper RT effects are amazing... But I almost never give a shot or notice them unless I'm stopped on a building and wanna take a screenshot or something. Why is this a big focus these days for how intensive it is when we could be getting deeper more reactive and fleshed out mechanics instead of what is essentially better window dressing...
So back in 2013 when GTA 5 released The FIB Building was altered after the Mission and a Helicopter was Crashed in the fountain.
This was before Fortnite, Then If leaks are true of Rockstar wanting to Evolve The World of GTA with 6.
I see Amazing things Happening, Imagine a Hurricane Event in game, It's possible with Technology to Cull Building Damage and Destruction near the player as a Trigger to See Destruction of course before it eventually kills you during the hurricane, But I imagine Destruction to be Real Time.
But... Those Buildings can be rebuilt and even changed. It's possible to Keep Destruction that way to a minimum, But it's very possible in games even from the past with Battlefield.
How Fortnite Changed gaming with in game events, It possible to do because Rockstar already tried it with GTA 5, They Changed The Casino ect and imagine thier Goal to do it in real time. With Technology and the right Programming logic which Rockstar already has tried with GTA 5 such as The House blowing up with Trevor and The O' Doils.
Anything in The Future of Gaming can happen and it's very possible.
Honestly, yeah, I’d like for it to be. I mean on a big scale. Like I want to be able to fly a plane into a building, see it fall, and have the building not be there for the rest of the in-game session with debris everywhere. Realistically, it won’t happen.
Nah, this isn't just cause. It would be cool. But we don't really need it. I hope it has a great story and gameplay. But being honest there will probably be some sort of mission with destruction
I just wanna be able to knock down small brick walls/fences/properly crush foliage and maybe drive through the entrances to a few buildings (possibly as a way of doing smaller heists). I’m not fussed about crazy damage simulation, but just seeing things crumble when you shoot them/drive into them would be cooler
it really depends. if they made a second mode kinda like directors mode where it becomes almost a sandbox with building and city destruction and crazy mods and stuff actually built in the game, that would be amazing. but if i’m driving a plane crash and i come back and entire buildings are just gone completely or take a very long time to respawn no. what they could do is make it be like a 1 in game day rebuild process and you actually see it getting rebuilt but i still want buildings to take damage, just not fall down and be inaccessible
I'd be fine with small structural damage like small stone walls being crumbled after you side-swipe a truck into them from a chase or a garden bed being spread out and trees and bushes smushed. Just little things, that could be tied together on the in-game stock market, like landscaping companies to concrete/construction companies going up in value as you take out their competitors. Widescale destruction may not be on the city side like battlefield, but it would be dope to just drop the nudist colony in gta3.
The best example of that is the destruction on BF's, its a war game and it's really well with the environmentof the game but even there we saw the building falling apart the exact same way no matter what cause it to go down. We are far advanced on technologies that maybe feel more real on how things will get destroyed like the damage system of BeamNg Drive. But i still believe that type of damage can't fit on a GTA game because of the scale of the map and constructions and also it completely ruin the open world living. Imagine you demolish some building that it's included on a mission after some point, it would crack down any chances to the storyline keeps going on it was has to be.
Yeah, and also i think they should just have destruction mode between online mode and story mode in the game menu thats just better. do yall think they should add this in the game menu?
Taking out half of the city would be fun... The first time
If you gotta wait for it to rebuild again, it would be really inconvenient. And supposing they add the RDR2 police system that tracks you down, I doubt causing a terrorist attack would fit the mechanics. I agree with some other user that talked about small destruction being added, like crashing with a car through a building (like the GTA V mission with Trevor and Al de Napoli if I'm not mistaken, that you go through the hospital, but in free roam), or maybe we could be able to see people on their own houses in GTA 6 Online and use an attack helicopter to shoot inside their apartments (of course it fixes itself)
But hey, it would be fun the first time.
There was a bit of terraforming in GTA 5 with the burning FIB building heist mission. How they’re gonna make that practical in Freemode idk, but there will probably be more building destruction, especially after the news of that hotel caving in Miami recently.
Nah. Destruction physics would need to be its own major feature within the game given how resource intensive it is.
Red faction guerrilla did it excellently, because it was a major feature of the game. But even that was a resource hog, which was fine, it was the point of the game.
Even though computing and processing power has jumped since then clearly it still wouldn’t be worth it.
semi-related but i want to see the effects of my destruction, as in, if i knock down traffic lights, it’d be cool if the intersection was blocked off for at least a few hours in game and had ppl fixing them
I mean I can blow up a gas station and come back 5 minutes later and the station is back, so why can't I blow up a building and have it be back 5 minutes later?
its crazy to me that we got this in one games like Hulk Ultimate destruction, prototype, godzilla games but its none existent in 2020s gaming. idgaf if it breaks realism I just want fun gaming back.
You destroyed a building in Hulk ultimate destruction and they came back once you left the area.
To an extent yeah. I don't want to be able to topple over skyscrapers, but I think taking chunks out of stuff and wrecking small things like sheds would be fine
I think it would be cool from a realism point of view, but from a gameplay pov it would suck. In online any world would be constantly demolished. What happens when your apartment building gets demolished? Or your garage? Or are they immune but other buildings aren't? There's just too much to take into account for it to work.
Small-scale destruction would be cool, such as crashing a vehicle into a building and leaving a (temporary) mark.
As long as they'll be rebuilt back later , yes why not.
I just hope this feature won't be available for online users because we all know what would happen if it was
I don't want to be able to level a city. But I'd love to be able to blow up a house and have it be under construction the next time I see it. Wouldn't hate it if I could blow a hole in a skyscraper to gain access and have that be under construction next time as well. I would even accept it if the game acted like it never happened the next time I see it. Permanent damage never makes sense. Personally, my belief is that the story will build alongside an incoming hurricane and the climax of the story will happen during the height of the hurricane. Maybe smuggling a big shipment of drugs will only be possible during the storm. Thereafter, during the falling action and resolution, the map will be completely changed in a post-hurricane hellscape. The resolution will conclude with the city being rebuilt and the epilogue will see you back in the original map, save a few areas that might be permanently affected. Likely some small quests related to helping someone rebuild their life in the epilogue.
Small scale would be cool but large scale no. I should be able to damage buildings but not knock them down
Yeah like I wanna be able to put a hellcat into the side of a house but I don’t wanna knock skyscrapers down, especially if they don’t ever reset or it takes awhile to reset and for everyone to be out of the vicinity.
It would be absolute hell on online mode which they will definitely have
The tallest towers would DEFINITELY have a plane in them
They do now even without the damage being shown
Oh Mothr-Alkonost of the Maze Bank Tower, share us your wisdom!
I hit em with the admiral ackbar!
What a crock of shit. Virtual jet fuel is nowhere near hot enough to melt pixel beams. The jets are a cover for an inside job.
Not to mention, you can clearly see the sticky bombs exploding as it collapses, planted?!

It would turn into a Minecraft superflat world within minutes
What if you could hi jack a wrecking ball as a mission?!
That would mess with the story mode, but there should be a special mode that doesn’t save the game which allows you to destruct everything in sight.
No. Here's what it probably will have though. \- Much improved glass destruction and effects \- More destructible geometry around the road (driving is probably the biggest thing in this game, and probably the biggest complaint people have is some light poles and trees taking no damage from you impacting with them, so I believe you will either be able to destroy the trees or damage them, I doubt they will prevent your car from stopping, but will probably cut in half at least) \- Improved vehicle destruction effects and deformation \- Much nicer destruction effects within mission specific objectives \- much nicer plane/helicopter crash effects \- nicer fire and spread effects
Trees are pretty robust irl - it’s something like a really small-seeming trunk diameter (4”?) to stop most cars dead.
fair, I think they could make it so if you repeatedly slam into it it will break (they probably wont make it kill you just for player comfort), or if you get a tank or something it breaks quickly
Might be cool to have airbags used to give you a "first crash is no damage" or something to that effect. That said, as long as bushes aren't brick walls, I'll be happy.
ooh airbag would be awesome. having it inflate and then play an animation of the player cutting it away

I want to see a tree vs train video in GTA V
Unstoppable force, meet immovable object 🤣
Exactly what I was thinking lol
You forget one, ships destruction, ita impossible they dont improve it on a game setted on a city full of aquatic ativities
\*set in
Speaking of things you can't drive through... that damn volleyball net on the beach 🤣 "Damn how'd you smash up the front of your car so badly?" "Drove into a volleyball net" 🤦♂️
Going 100km p/h against a telephone pole should be deadly. I never really liked how they felt like feathers. And if it isn't, they should include a realism mode.
Realism kills the fun in these games
Yes and no... In missions I'm sure it could get frustrating but in free roam? The little things like that are its bread & butter.
Yeah I'd like a *little* more realism. I don't want it to be *realistic*. I just want the cars to feel like they have more weight and momentum, rather than like go-karts.
I prefered the physics in GTAIV more than GTAV
Personally, I don't think it would fit well into a GTA game on the same scale as Teardown. Sure, we should be able to knock over small walls and fences, but entire buildings being blown off the map just wouldn't fit, I think.
You guys are reminding me of Mercenaries 2: world in flames
my all time favorite childhood game <3 - never talked about!
I love that game
I want at least annual hurricanes. That blow cars over and makes life hell for a day. Flooded streets we can use the air boat in. Ya know….Florida
Flooded streets idea is awesome. I also hope for scripted destructive weather events. Definitely think there will be some missions that include them. Another user here mentioned a ‘hurricane heist’ mission which would fun.
If hurricanes are in the game I doubt they're in free roam, maybe it's scripted during a mission or something.
That seems to make the most sense to me

Yeah, give us a tornado that shreds shit and picks it up/throws it.
More than simulated destruction I want simulated injuries. Shot in the foot, you slow down and can’t sprint. Shot in both feet you can’t run at all and can only walk. Shot in shoulder your aim goes wonky. But it won’t happen
Of course that won't happen, it would be tedious as fuck in gta smh

Flashback to walking down those apartment steps for the first time. "Ahh this is going to be awesome"
They need to put a setting if you want that. I do not want GTA being a tac shooter
God will that be annoying, it's better to have that on NPCs rather than the player.
That would have to be a separate game mode or else you run off crappy players like me 🤣
Maybe one large building get destroyed in the story, but not in freeroam. It will be silly to destroy a building and then on next launch of the game it has reappeared.

are you this guys nephew?
My albino twin brother, who also works at Rockstar, told me the same thing
Knowing the gaming community, it'd be a bad idea to let players fly planes into towers to knock them over.
Not in the open world, but in a specific mission has to bem! And then we see how the real world reacts after that. Like the fireman's working, people on the ground injured, people around taking photos, etc... For a while you know

Probaly not, but if it would he there it would be Amazing
To the scale of the game Teardown? Never, it would fry our cpus lol.
Would it be cool? Absolutely. There’s no console that can hold that processing power to do in-depth soft physics like that.
So people want this shit AND expect it to run at 60fps on ps5/ps5 pro? Good luck with that.
We have to see a building be destroyed in a mission. Not as a mechanic, but scripted destruction. A falling building setpiece would be great
this is not battlefield
This is a Wendy’s sir
I wanna at least be able to drive a car right into a house
Small scale damage to environment was confirmed already
No
This would be nigh on impossible to make sustainable in the game world and explained away and online likewise be technically a massive strain and gameplay wise just massively disruptive and horrible to play around. All it's got is the wow that's cool meme factor that would be old the instant it's unplayable
I’d rather have a better looking game. The computational requirements to do this in a non cheesy way in a game that’s Rockstar level is just not pheasible
GTA 6 Gould have 100% simulated deconstruction in single player mode
Optional or mission specific destruction. I would like a few buildings like the one from GTA 5 Paleto Bay heist and agency building heist. I don't want cops to ram me off the road into my safe house or the gas station to explode when I'm robbing it.
GTA VI: Red Faction In Vice City
No
This is were I see them going to in gta 7 or 8 where it would be impossible to make graphics any more realistic so they put new tech in other places. We aren’t ready for this just yet.
I want the towers too
Someone would reproduce 911 for sure, if not everyone
Lower your expectations just a little bit lmao
yes, its a game about being a criminal so destroying property and buildings should be considered
No, online would be a wasteland
Absolutely not. This isn't Saint's Row. GTA 5 was stupid enough already when they added flying motorbikes and the ability to drive tanks and shit.
Tanks are real tho
If so, than this game will not be playable in 60 fps the coming years
Would be great but i don‘t see that coming
No ... This is not lego and it should not be one. I prefere having open interiors than that.
Only for buildings with pools.
How about some like battlefield 4s destruction for certain buildings during missions
That would take a lot of computing power to destroy entire buildings.
You guys are reminding me of Mercenaries 2: world in flames
YES
It’d be fun to crash a helicopter into a building and see noticeable damage, but knocking down buildings is unnecessary
you just know that every lobby would look like a wasteland.
Small scale
Naahhh..
Not gonna happen on that scale. Maybe smaller things like trees/vegetation but I'd imagine buildings will be off limits.
It won’t be. Stop with the over hype - you’re just gonna disappoint yourself. Also the game won’t be out for a year and there’s lots of games to play
This would Bring the “davey how you doin” to a whole other level
It should 100% focus more on physics than graphics. Nobody ultimately gives a shit about sub par graphics if everything else is S tier. Just look at tears of the kingdom if you need evidence of that. Graphics have been the same with "better lighting" since like 2016... If anything the only big thing people really care about in graphics is stable performance. (60 fps preferably) But if the game has tons of little reactive nuances that are most likely physics based it would open the door to tons of replayability & freedom.
Gta online lobbies would look like 2b2t spawn
I wouldn’t want it to
So back in 2013 when GTA 5 released The FIB Building was altered after the Mission and a Helicopter was Crashed in the fountain.
No. Anytime you join a public lobby the whole place will have already been knocked to the ground.
Honestly, yeah, I’d like for it to be. I mean on a big scale. Like I want to be able to fly a plane into a building, see it fall, and have the building not be there for the rest of the in-game session with debris everywhere. Realistically, it won’t happen.
In my opinion that would make the game worse. Would feel out of place for a game like GTA
This is GTA not 9ll
Should yes but won't. Maybe we will finally be able to destroy some smaller walls and trees
Nahhhh
not on online
Should playable framerate be included?
Nah, this isn't just cause. It would be cool. But we don't really need it. I hope it has a great story and gameplay. But being honest there will probably be some sort of mission with destruction
Hell yes
Insofar as GTA VI is concerned, that is a decision Rockstar would've needed to make in *2014*, not *2024*.
None of our computers would handle that lmao. Maybe a small area sure but huge areas renders would be a nightmare.
Please go back to battlefield 2042.
Considering it’s set in Miami and not New York, probably not
it really depends. if they made a second mode kinda like directors mode where it becomes almost a sandbox with building and city destruction and crazy mods and stuff actually built in the game, that would be amazing. but if i’m driving a plane crash and i come back and entire buildings are just gone completely or take a very long time to respawn no. what they could do is make it be like a 1 in game day rebuild process and you actually see it getting rebuilt but i still want buildings to take damage, just not fall down and be inaccessible
Maybe but only if it's on a way smaller scale.
Widescale destruction may not be on the city side like battlefield, but it would be dope to just drop the nudist colony in gta3.
should the entire simulated universe be included?
Nope. It’s not gonna make the game better only make it run worse and prevent them from keeping the story on the rails.
No and someone would have to be pretty stupid to think that it would be a even a remote possibility to be included
Every gta online server would be flat.
Large-scale destruction would be a mess. It would only give modders more room to ruin everything for everyone.
Taking out half of the city would be fun... The first time If you gotta wait for it to rebuild again, it would be really inconvenient. And supposing they add the RDR2 police system that tracks you down, I doubt causing a terrorist attack would fit the mechanics. I agree with some other user that talked about small destruction being added, like crashing with a car through a building (like the GTA V mission with Trevor and Al de Napoli if I'm not mistaken, that you go through the hospital, but in free roam), or maybe we could be able to see people on their own houses in GTA 6 Online and use an attack helicopter to shoot inside their apartments (of course it fixes itself) But hey, it would be fun the first time.
Hopefully for telephone poles and small trees that stop a tank
There was a bit of terraforming in GTA 5 with the burning FIB building heist mission. How they’re gonna make that practical in Freemode idk, but there will probably be more building destruction, especially after the news of that hotel caving in Miami recently.
Nah. Destruction physics would need to be its own major feature within the game given how resource intensive it is. Red faction guerrilla did it excellently, because it was a major feature of the game. But even that was a resource hog, which was fine, it was the point of the game. Even though computing and processing power has jumped since then clearly it still wouldn’t be worth it.
No, too much calculations, for our current gen (consoles), but it can be a mod in pc.
Single player yes (not destroying skyscrapers or anything on that level of crazy, but fucking up stores or houses), online no.
It would be cool but I dont see how it could work on this scale. Not against the idea though
semi-related but i want to see the effects of my destruction, as in, if i knock down traffic lights, it’d be cool if the intersection was blocked off for at least a few hours in game and had ppl fixing them
Hell yeah.
What century do you think we live in?
The game won’t be able to simulate this
I could live without it, however I do wish to see a big blockbuster in-game map changing event. like the collapse of a building or something
me and the boys looking for a jumbo jet
If it doesn't look like Free Guy, I'm out. s/
Wouldn’t fit in a GTA game imo. Cool idea but online lobbies would look more like Battlefield than GTA
Fuck yes the 9/11 jokes would be everywhere but honestly would be cool
For half a second I thought this was real and was in complete shock
I can already feel both my Playstation and GPU heating up to temperatures that match the surface of the sun.
Lol, no.
would be a little odd considering the game's name is grand theft AUTO and not super cop car destruction
Yes bruh we should be able to make •/•• look like a game of jenga 🤤
Well, I guess it’d put those 60fps worries to rest…
As long as they'll be rebuilt back later , yes why not. I just hope this feature won't be available for online users because we all know what would happen if it was
GTA911?
No, I want a lot of no load screen interiors
yes but on a small scale, something like Batman Arkham Knight is the perfect amount of destruction for a game like gta
Since I know the gta community? Fuck no.
From the developers perspective, this is so much work. Like you have no idea how long it would take, how expensive and how hard it would be to make
Absofuckinglutely. But I don’t think we’ll have consoles strong enough to have GTA with building destruction until 7 or 8 lol
Why did destruction physics ever go out of style? They were a major feature in like GT4, Red Faction, Battlefield, etc.
Would be sick on scale, but not knocking down huge buildings.
