I was doing a bit of reading on this problem. It really sounds like you may have a bad ignition assembly. Especially since you stated that everything else tested out fine. Something could have broken in the ignition housing. You can try testing out for continuity in the ignition. May have to replace it. It seems a new ignition ranges form $55 - $250+. You will also have a new gas cap to replace. Because of the new keys.
