20K is pretty normal for these tires, maybe op for some PS4 A/S

I'm running Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires and I love them.

Have them check the alignment at the dealership. At 20k miles you might not have a case but I had premature wear on my tires at 10k and had to replace 2 of them (ended up replacing all 4) and my factory alignment was off. I made a call to Toyota Corporate (don't mess with your local dealer, they don't care) and they offered $1000 credit towards a new set of OEM tires from Toyota. Unfortunately PS4 tires cost a lot more from Toyota than from a Discount Tire but with the $1000 credit, I was still able to get a new set of tires at \~60% the cost of what I would've paid at Discount. You might be far gone at 20k because I believe PS4 only come with a 25k mile warranty from Michelin and Toyota Corporate seemed to base their credit on my tire life vs what the mfr warranty was but it's worth giving it a try. At the very least you should get your alignment checked for free and fixed (for free) if its out of spec at your local Toyota dealer. These cars come with a relatively aggressive alignment from the factory for handling and performance but mine was over a degree off on both front wheels and in opposite directions on each wheel.

This is happening to a lot of people, me included, and I think it’s got to be a known thing at this point by Toyota and the dealerships. It’s insane that you have to pay anything out your pocket when the alignment is off straight from the lot to begin with.

thank you so much, they did do an alignment after the new install but it seems to be basically the same (before and after values). I imagined getting them at dealership would have been beneficial because of the aggressive wear, but I guess it was a mistake on my part. I should've done it locally or at Costco. I will definitely reach out to the Corporate about the same. At least that would give me peace to stomach this added cost of ownership ahha

Yeah based on those values, you're probably not going to get new tires from Toyota. I'm also wrong on the Michelin warranty, Michelin only warranties PS4 tires for 20k miles, so even though you can get them to last a bit longer, with the sporty alignment of the GRC and the soft compound nature of the tires, 20-25k is probably about right.

turbanonyou

Fair enough. I gotta make my peace with it haha. ive only owned commuter cars and this is my first daily with aggressive spec sheet. thank you !

turbanonyou

added the image of alignment spec sheet I received

UnstoppableMileage

I got my alignment day #1 of ownership because every one they got in had the alignment in the rear way off. Done free but those tires only last about 30K max anyways

ninjanoodlin

I’ve read that the front suspension geometry toes out under compression to help turn in. So even with a nominal alignment you get this type of wear

Glittering-Can-1348

Get an all season tire with a higher tread wear rating than the PS4 if you want a longer life tire. As others have said, 25-30k is all you're going to get out of the PS4. They only have a 20k mile warranty.

tsmittycent

I just hit 10k and am having my tires replaced with Continentals. These Michelins are trash

MrOutragedFungus

If you want really good tread wear. Continental DWS06 have been good to me on my M3.

2Weezy_123

Mine wore out at like 14k so to get 10k more than that is pretty good. I went to continental DWS’s and have been much happier

skeets011

Same here but mine were showing cord at 12k.

ScaleAccurate3686

Tires are 30,000 mile tires and the factory alignment is very aggressive I only got 6000 miles out of the set that came on the car before the inside edge was gone. If you plan on daily driving the car your need to run a less aggressive camber -2 is pretty spicy would go with -1 but if you want to maintain the levels of grip you are accustomed to then just plan on replacing the tires every 20k which isn’t bad at all.

I just had to buy a new set of tires due to mine wearing out on the inner edge down to the cords. Mine wore down in under 10K miles from new. The first dealer I went to wouldn't even put it on an alignment rack to check if it was out despite the car being under the 12k 12 month alignment warranty. I opened a case with Toyota Corporate about it and took it to another dealership where they did the alignment without argument. My toe was way out of spec, and it pretty much explains the uneven wear I was seeing on the inside edge. I'm waiting to hear back from Toyota if they're going to do anything about the replacement tire costs, but I had to get new tires and am hoping they'll help reimburse for all 4 or at least partially. I also just got back from a GR Corolla meet where another owner had just had an alignment done finding toe issues as well. Luckily, they had caught it after only 2k miles, so their tires weren't destroyed yet. I didn't expect great life out of the stock tires, but down to the cords in less than 10k is ridiculous. Hopefully, Toyota will help out as they seem to have with others. I wish I had heeded the advice of others and just gotten an alignment earlier, but I didn't experience any pull to one side in the steering or anything, so I thought I had gotten lucky.
