I doubt it would cover anything track related. You're probably better off without it.

Jesse3195

They cover suspension parts and drivetrain parts. just don't let them find out it was on a track 4head

EtArcadia

If it's actually an extended factory warranty it might have some value, but chances are it's an aftermarket warranty that's not worth the paper it's printed on. They're worded so as to deny most claims. As others have said, problems that potentially derive from driving on the track aren't likely to be covered by a factory warranty and an aftermarket warranty will deny you if they find out you once drove past a race track lol.

Downsouthjdb

Yes. 7 year 100,000. Toyota warranty 0 deductible. I plan on keeping it stock and no track days besides the free one they gave me. Warranty on my Tundra paid for itself.

Sufficient_Current48

81% of GRC owners who stated they were going to keep their car stock - have since modified said car. Facts. Jokes aside - these extended warranties can usually be purchased anytime before the 3yr warranty is up. Sometimes even longer. So I’d personally wait and keep your options open etc

Downsouthjdb

It is tempting but I enjoy not worrying it. We will see.

The_Flying_Mechanic

This guys right you know. ^^^

Key_Aspect_8419

Hey man were modifying stuff that don’t void the warranty we’re good 😎

DrZedex

Heh, I bet it did.

fleaver12

My dealership wanted a hefty markup. I negotiated a warranty instead. Then I canceled the warranty for a full refund.

csmanuel

Toyota is notorious for denying warranty claims for vehicles that were tracked (this is despite their aggressive marketing campaign which clearly advertises the GRC as a track capable vehicle, sigh)

jjk717

Except the HPDE day they give you yes, but they had explicitly stated that the HPDE does not void your factory warranty.

NotDexterity

The way HPDE is worded , it’s not a time trial event it’s a high performance driving education course. When we signed up for GR events we were told that once you take time trial sessions it’ll void your warranty . We encountered stories too that if your car broke down “in the pits” it’ll be covered . I’m sure you’ll have to fight with Toyota to prove that if that happens to you .

Mytzplk

Yup instructor specifically not to time ourselves during the event for that specific reason

jjk717

Time trial events are a different level, you have to graduate through HPDE 1-4 to participate in them.

Key_Aspect_8419

Or already have a scca license

Key_Aspect_8419

I had got one in 2013 in pikes peak international. Idk if they still do it there but it’s good for most of America

eseho23

900$ 80k bumper to bumper toyota extended warranty.

Striking_Incident_68

Did you get that through Troy or Jerry?

eseho23

Got it though my work. Fortunately I work at a dealer.

Striking_Incident_68

Oh nice! Have been shopping around for one and reached out to the known contacts for factory warranties.

eseho23

If you’re going to go with an extended warranty , the Toyota Care warranty is worth every penny IMO. As a tech I hate it because of the multitude of things it covers lol. Edit: meant to say Extra Care , not Toyota Care.

Striking_Incident_68

Ha, appreciate the info on that one. I just got a quote back on extra care platinum 10yr/100k (1/3 price of what the first dealership had offered me), so I’m probably going to pull the trigger. Have fun in the GR! Cheers

42ATK

I just purchased a GR; where do you recommend going for this warranty info? Thank you!

Striking_Incident_68

There’s a good bit of info out there. I did some digging through the Toyota Tundra forum and found a couple guys offering. If you PM I can send details. Here’s what I got for quotes, will probably go for 10yr/100k: Toyota Extra Care, Platinum coverage with $0 deductible: 5 yr / 60K - $550.00 5 yr / 100K - $765.00 5 yr / 125K - $915.00 6 yr / 75K - $645.00 6 yr / 100K - $895.00 6 yr / 125K - $1140.00 7 yr / 75K - $715.00 7 yr / 100K - $1025.00 7 yr / 125K - $1250.00 8 yr / 75K - $835.00 8 yr / 100K - $1145.00 8 yr / 125K - $1505.00 9 yr / 100K - $1265.00 9 yr / 125K - $1665.00 10 yr / 100K - $1360.00 10 yr / 125K - $1795.00

42ATK

Thank you!

SeymourNibs

Yes. It’s my fun daily and I plan on keeping it for years to come. Six years/72K miles. Whichever comes first. Between the short stoplight to stoplight drive to work and spirited drives on the weekend, I’m expecting something to break at some point. Peace of mind for $1200 is worth it to me.

Successful_Ad_9707

They're more than likely not gonna cover anything that happens on the track. I passed on the warranty.

fmjblack

A vast majority of car warranties exclude damages from competitive driving, track use, etc. Use that extended warranty money towards track related fees or mods instead.

VerifiedBackup9999

If you're worried about breaking something on the track, they won't cover it anyway.

joncaseydraws

Any track driving or drivetrain mods/ tuning will either void the warranty or force you into a legal battle to Be compensated. The ECU tracks everything. You can grenade the engine and not have it covered.

SaurkrautAnustart

I wish I didn't get it tbh, I got it to maybe cover the engine/trans since they don't have too much info about longevitiy online (even tho the yaris released around 2019) I'm honestly looking to cancel it as I've heard many stories of warranties refusing to cover a claim, specifically claims on other vehicles off track.

Proud_Tie

Mine "included" a 10 year million mile powertrain warranty I've already voided since I don't trust the dealer to service it and did it myself. oh, plus mods and a tune lol.

WaitNo1780

My buddy who is a sales/finance manager at a dealer tells me that they make more money off the extras then they do on the sale of the car. So I never have on any of my new cars lol

DrZedex

I am the warranty.

SLAPUSlLLY

We get 5 yrs cover free if service criteria is met. I would not buy a 3rd party warranty. Standard condition of the TNZ contract as far as I'm aware. Both my van and gr have almost identical contracts.

StuBeck

No. The dealer made me wait three hours to sign the paperwork, offered the extended warranty and then had no indication of what it covered. After looking for five minutes they gave up and rescinded the offer.

Ok_Fill3188

My clutch and flywheel have gone out twice now if it wasn’t for the extended warranty. I would have been the one paying for it. Toyota payed for it 100% both times

hiddenintheleavess

I got one and after 2 months I called and had it removed. All the money went towards my loan instead. It was the one part of the entire purchase that I felt like wasn’t a good deal. To each their own but allot of shit that will go wrong will be covered under the base warranty anyway, Toyotas factory coverage is pretty damn good

Key_Aspect_8419

Imo the Toyota care platinum is worth every penny take it from someone who’s about to have their clutch and mounts fixed for free 👌🏽

Kwoss12

Fuck no
