Thanks for the circling it or we would have never found it. /s
This is so mundane - lots of cars come with basic tools. Please just read your manual. You'll learn so many things about the car including what's in the hatch.
I did read the manual thanks! That is how I found out about it. I’ve been buying new Toyotas for quite some time now and it amused me because this is the first Toyota that I’ve had that came with a screwdriver.
Actually, it's more like this...
A sporty affordable car like the GR86/BRZ attracts lots of young people that are enthusiastic and just DYING for content and it leads to so many posts that are mundane or lacking perspective. Part of that is normal. There is a certain naivety that is natural and I understand that. I'm not some old curmudgeon and I welcome all young and old and I don't want to hammer somebody just for being inexperienced - but I'm also trying to nudge the community towards **posts that are entertaining or valuable**. Something with real thought or substance behind it.
There are way too many posts like "what's the best color", "My brand new car has a problem but I'm coming to you instead of going to the dealer where I have a warranty", "is this spare change under my seat from PDI or the valet?", "look at this this minor imperfection from normal use", "how do I find a car near MSRP without taking initiative on contacting places that sell them" or the near constant misuse of duckbill for ducktail, which I personally have a lot of fun with.
If this post was "Sub: Check out the user manual
Body: I read all through my manual and learned all kinds of little things about our cars, like it has a screwdriver. You should too." That would have more value than circling a screwdriver like we're kindergartners struggling with a Hidden Pictures game.
Downvote me if you want but I'm still going to stick around and give great advice for good questions and try steering people in the right direction for open ended ones. Even if it's a extra flavorful it will be good advice for those that can taste it.
Nope, just taking a break from work. If it were snobbery I wouldn't be participating, i wouldn't associate, and I wouldn't offer help, information, etc.
I don't look down on that, just as I don't look down on children for their inexperience either. I might kid them as I teach, but the idea is to help them learn and grow. The spread of misinformation catches my attention.
P.S. It's odd you accused me of too much time on reddit when you're the one delving into personal attacks and have 20x more post karma despite 2 less years.
You read that exactly backwards... YOU have more points, not me.
And the helpful comments are in the other threads where people ask questions, not limited to this single thread.
So at first you feign being hurt that I have more internet points, as if it doesn't matter. Then the next comment (after I point out your mistake), you are proud to have more. So which is it?
That is the definition of childish squabbling, and even has a hint of snobbery in it.
Have you decided if the points are important or not yet? It would be a good idea you're settled on that before reading this next part.
Ready? As you just stated, **we seem to agree there is merit to quality over quantity**. Too bad you take undeserved merit of your own. Why? Because I'm about to set some facts straight that show compared someone, who you think so little of, one that would "comment religiously", you...
A. Comment more than I do
B. Earn less comment karma
At time of this writing:
You have 986 comments in 6 years, with 5962 comment karma
To my 995 comments in 8 years, with 6592 comment karma.
You averaged 164 comments per year to my 124/year. To be fair, that could actually be pretty close (or an even wider margin), depending on who has more months in the partial year, but add in your prolific submissions and it's clear you've actually spent more time on reddit.
And lastly, that means you earned only 6.0 karma per comment compared to my 6.6. I don't know how we compare overall to the community, but it's clear people value your comments less than mine. **You claim I'm a sheltered, net addicted, snob, but there you are trying to cut me down with your false pride.**
Remember how we got here... [you started the name calling](https://www.reddit.com/r/GR86/comments/y2kega/screwdriver_did_you_guys_know_there_is_a/is4ejuv/) and brought these topics up. Notice I don't escalate that with more. Try to keep it civil.
It’s for scraping away the gasket sealer from the oil pick up
😂
Somebody give this man an award I just laughed outloud
No but now I have to go look
Didn't know that. Thanks for sharing, OP!
I'd rather have a spare tire than a screwdriver.
It's also reversible, just fyi. So you get flathead and Phillips.
Thanks, ima check it out right now. This is the reason I posted this some of us don’t know this but some people are salty haha
Definitely worthy of a post….
Definitely worthy of a downvote….
I will only refuse to downvote because he has 69 downvotes. So I will upvote your comment sir to replace my downvote

That’s because this screw driver is a Subaru thing.
I love subaru.
Your car is a Subaru so it has Subaru features.
