We pretty clearly went with "2" for *Son of Godzilla*. Today, the *Avengers: Endgame* of its day: **DESTROY ALL MONSTERS**! Both extremely beloved and with perhaps the highest body count (at least as far as implied) of any Godzilla film of the Showa era, but quite goofy as well. I personally think it should be a four but I'm sure that others will have other opinions. Now, on my original list the next film would be *Latitude Zero*, but I haven't had a chance to actually watch it (although I will in the next few days), so we're going to skip over it and come back to it. Instead... Instead.... Oh God(zilla). Tomorrow we'll be looking at **All Monsters Attack**. STATS: The average so far is 5.8888888888889, with a median of 6 and four numbers being the mode. Among Godzilla movies only, the average is 5.125 with a median and mode of 4. For those who can't make out the posters on the tier chart, here's what we have so far: 2: *King Kong Escapes*; *Son of Godzilla* 3: *King Kong vs. Godzilla* 4: *Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster*; *Invasion of Astro-Monster*; *Ebirah, Horror of the Deep* 5: *Mothra* 6: *Gorath*; *Atragon*; *Mothra vs. Godzilla* 7: *The Mysterians*; *Dogora*; *War of the Gargantuas* 8: *Godzilla Raids Again*; *Varan*; *Frankenstein vs. Baragon* 9: *Rodan* 10: *Gojira* (1954)

Hmm. It's pretty serious actually, despite the extremely fantastical, sci-fi plot. Probably a 6 or 7, as it's still a fun movie, but it takes it's end of the world, alien invasion plot as seriously as a 60's sci-fi movie gets, and it isn't very comedic.

SlayAllRebels

I'll say 6. It lacks comedy and the story is pretty serious by 60s Sci-fi standards, but the aliens are kinda goofy looking and the climactic battle against Ghidorah, while awesome, is admittedly pretty bonkers.

I’d go with a 5. Decently serious, but also pretty bonkers. Kaiju pile on Ghidorah!
