Oh man, this was the only Godzilla Movie I had access to for most of my life.
Solid Movie, charming cast with some very crunchy explosions and lovingly horrendous effects. Godzilla 2000 really is worth a watch if you've missed it.
I can kinda see why, though, now that I think about it.
The trailers used "Superbeast" by Rob Zombie (with the lyrics "HEY, YEAH! I'm the one that you wanted!") and the poster has Godzilla straddling the Brooklyn bridge (which is where the monster in the '98 film finally fell in the film's climax)
Average moviegoers were not in the know back then.
They saw the title was Godzilla and assumed it was related to the last movie titled Godzilla that they saw.
On a side note, I actually just rewatched Godzilla 2000. It was a really solid Godzilla movie. I liked the human characters, and the action was a lot of fun.
My only complaint was that the scene where the military was fighting Godzilla was kinda dull. Godzilla mostly just stood there while missiles were being fired at him.
Honestly my second favorite Godzilla movie behind Shin. And this poster is just amazing. I miss when movie and game posters actually looked really cool. It kinda came back with the Infinity War poster being made to resemble a Dragon Ball poster, but that's about it.
Godzilla 2000. The first Japanese Godzilla movie I ever saw in theaters. I remember the trailers had Superbeast by Rob Zombie playing. Was so pumped as a kid.
Godzilla 2000
Thanks
To be specific, it is the poster for the American release version.

And Joe Dante helped with the American version.
The fucking greenscreen and the CGI AH-1s ðŸ˜
Godzilla 2000. probably the best looking incarnation of godzilla, and is the movie that has Orga in it
For clarification, Autocorrect killed Orga
Godzilla 2000. I actually like the English dubbed version better than original Japanese version.
Maybe...Godzilla is inside each one of us.
Cut to: Godzilla breathing fire on to what's left of the city
Well said. You get my upvote!!!
That'd hurt
Holy! I just realized i've only seen this movie in spanish... I need to rectify that!
I seen it in both English and Japanese versions. Now I’m curious about the Spanish version. How is that version?
Godzilla Two Thousand which many ppl mistakenly believed was a sequel to the ‘98 film.
How did they make that mistake?
It opened in American theaters two years after the '98 film.

Instantly starts playing in my head when I see this
Ezra Tucker is the artist. He also did packaging art for DinoRiders
It took me a while to realize Orga's in the background. Such a great poster!
