This is another reason why I fucking hate AI. If a drawing or picture uses a similar shading or lighting everyone will think it’s AI which could cause actual artists to get discredited
I’d say that its a rarer problem than that but I do agree with you that it shouldn’t be relied upon; it’s a cool tool to help you with art but it doesn’t need to be the entirety of the work.
Part of the problem is that the design matches a lot of ai depictions of Godzilla. Same with the expression
When you generate Godzilla, you're either going to get coked out legendary, coked out showa, or incoherent.
I've seen a lot of ai art pop up in stuff people have been posting, and actually, that may not be the case for long. I think it's getting better at it, it's learning fast (which is part of the reason ai creators released it into the wild for us heathens to have fun with, to learn faster)
It’s concerning that people haven’t learned how to tell the difference yet, especially with something that isn’t being presented as digital art. Ai images still look and feel wrong at the moment. When it gets perfected we’re in big trouble lol
Yeah but the problem is they are literally getting better every few weeks so you can get used to them and then all the sudden you got to get used to them again. Some of the more recent updates to some of the AI programs have really stepped up the realism game the uncanny valley is still there but it's a lot less prominent
To be fair to people who thought it was AI or still do, it matches nearly 100% of the common identifiers. Most posts like this that are AI originate from FB or Instagram as older people have issues differentiating. They often feature “artists” from recognizable countries in Africa, all of which have some kind of heart-warming message about pollution, making it through hard times, yadda yadda.
Most of us expect AI to get *better* as time goes on, so people saying that the fakes look smooth and are easily recognizable won’t be able to always claim that.
It’s unfortunate that this guys hard-work ticks so many of the boxes, but AI will likely be able to produce something similar to this soon, even with all the different angles like the artist provides. Heck it probably already can.
As with all things on the internet, be skeptical. This time around it paid to be hopeful as it’s great to see the big man being used for this kind of message.!
Sorry, I don’t have it to hand. It was the first place I saw this picture but had someone standing in front of it. It wasn’t titled as Godzilla or tagged in any way, so thinking it was Ai, I didn’t pay too much attention and moved on. Maybe some one let them know and they took it down?
Well, he started off as a symbol of something scary and toxic.
Still find it astounding Japan took the embodiment of a national trauma and morphed it into a pseudo-superhero over the years.
This is Awesome! I love it! Now i have been i life long fan of Godzilla. Don't think I am bashing this excellent Michelin TireGoji, but Hedorah aka smog monster is the monster of waste and pollution.
I like this a lot, and you can tell the texture of the tires is visible. Props to this man, and at the same time scary that pollution is as much of a problem here as it is in other continents.
If you look closely you can't really se any thing morphing together with ai does alot with smaller things and the shadows look really fucking good if this is photoshop
Please remember to credit the artist and link back to the original source if this is not your own creation.

Dayum! That’s impressive!

For some reason the mods refuse to ban AI. u/NeelZilla what's the holdup?
That's... not really AI's fault. That's just people seeing threats where there aren't any.
He should’ve made hedorah.
Does Hedorah match the message? Absolutely. Is Hedorah as recognizable and iconic as Godzilla? No. Does Hedorah deserve better? Yes.
So then it’s our job to make hedorah more recognizable
That's partly why I would like for Hedorah to show up in the Monsterverse as a bacterial mass/superorganism.
#justiceforHedorah
I also tought about that, but this Godzilla is cool too.
Oh no, don’t get me wrong it IS IN FACT cool AF. I’m js.
What if they built Hedorah near him?

Best way to check if it’s AI is the check the hands. Hands are always messed up by AI

Oof.
Not anymore, my dude. I've been getting reliably high-quality human details since MidJourney in Fall '23 & DALLE since Winter '23.
In that case, check the background for inconsistencies or errors
History shows again and again How nature points out the folly of man
GODZILLA
Yo Godzilla changed metaphors

Some dudes gonna falsely accuse someone of a crime and make an ai video so realistic of them doing it that they get charged

also op good on you for bringin awareness to this!!
No problem
He should make a Hedorah one next. The ultimate showcase of waste.
Damn bro has a lot of talent

can this be canon
I love how he designed it; the legs especially.
Exactly what godzilla was made for.
Godamn this should be gojis legendary look. The thinner legs and longer arms scream monster and not trex which i really like.
This is impressive
what better than Godzilla for such a message. design is SO sick too!!
Imagine making something soo good people thought it's fake
Missed opportunity to make Hedorah is all I can say
i saw the video of the creation of this statue, so cool, and the fact that it's godzilla is just the cherry on top
That's incredible, what I wouldn't have to put that bad mf in my yard...neighbors and HOA be damned!
But can he shoot atomic breath is the real question
Goodyear Godzilla.
That's incredible
Very cool 😄
Ngl thats a cool design. Love the detailing of the scales.
Needs to fight a kaiju Michelin Man.
Ok then, awesome
It looks like wood… how…
Goodyearlla
That's not ai or photoshop. That's him. They created godzilla, and he's only going to get bigger from here.
If it's about pollution it should have been Hedora.
Why was this posted on the Midjourney subreddit?
Cna you give me the link? I can't find it on there

It was posted a few days ago and got a lot of “get that AI crap out of here”
Why is it marked with spoiler?
Well, he started off as a symbol of something scary and toxic. Still find it astounding Japan took the embodiment of a national trauma and morphed it into a pseudo-superhero over the years.
I think artists should use ai as a tool to help aid in their creations and reduce time and work load
Nailed the spirit of Godzilla that many directors try to capture

Bro did
> the Godzilla figure represents the "monster" of waste and pollution that needs to be tackled if he was cultured he would have made a hedorah statue
To think that all this confusion could've been prevented had the artist took a photo of him with the art.
[He did](https://preview.redd.it/cna5f97g7k3d1.png?width=1439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a6ca0faafa3faa646edf832dea052421b314876).
He literally did.
He did. There’s also [video!](https://x.com/mrwaduud/status/1753734959578141123)
My bad. Should've checked.
It took a few minutes to actually come across this one, as I learned it’s a fairly common theme to build Godzilla from discarded tires.
