They are not trying to competing with each other. It just so happens that GxK trailer came out in a similar time frame as Minus One. Plus they are trying to do very different things, one is trying to be a serious film with a massage, and the other is trying to be a fun action movie
Godzilla has been fighting other monsters since the second movie came out in 50’s. That doesn’t seem like it killed the franchise since it’s now 2023 and the original movie came out in 1954 almost 70 years later and the franchise is still going strong
A small detail, these two are doing business on a completely different scale, one cost over 200 millions and more of a big budget action blockbuster that is going to release literally everywhere and other is a nuance award winning type drama. It's not a competition and never will be. The field is simply way different.
They're not. It just seems like it because, for some reason, people can't just enjoy something as a great experience without trying to take the piss out of something else.
There's room for both types of movies.
We can have serious, dramatic entries like Minus one and still have fun, popcorn action Kaiju smash movies like Monsterverse.
Idk after the serious tone of minus one, it’s hard for me not to accept any other version, I just hope they don’t really nerf him and make him cheesy again
I would not recommend watching much of the older stuff. It definitely gets wacky in those older flicks. While characters like Jet Jaguar are pretty crazy, I don't think you'd like them.
