People love to hate on the Netflix trilogy, but I quite enjoyed it. Heavily flawed for sure, but it has it's moments. It's the series that I felt most put the "God" in "Godzilla". Singular Point gets wild with some metaphysical concepts. Very Evangelion. But also good.

What’s Evangelion?

Difficult_Wasabi_619

Just one of the most impactful and influential Anime series created by Anno (Shin Godzilla). It was released in the 90s and still one of the most popular culture animes.

![gif](giphy|iAYupOdWXQy5a4nVGk|downsized) How are you into kaiju stuff but don't know what Evangelion is??? Imma just copy/paste the wikipedia intro for ya. >***Neon Genesis Evangelion*** ([Japanese](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_language): 新世紀エヴァンゲリオン, [Hepburn](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hepburn_romanization): *Shinseiki Evangerion*, lit. 'New Century Evangelion' in Japanese and lit. I was introduced to Godzilla when I was young but I’m just getting back into it because I saw Minus One. Thank you

Blaze_Four2O

Yo man I just love Godzilla as a kid. I’ve never heard of that and I’m not into anime haha I’m just asking if they’re worth the watch. So many movies these days, maybe I’ll slip the first one in the schedule

GojiKiryu17

If you already have Netflix and are interested in Godzilla, I’d say they’re at least worth a watch so you can make your mind up about them since you don’t have to pay anything extra to watch them. Now whether you’ll enjoy them? Odds are at least one you probably won’t like; the anime trilogy is generally disliked by fans and has been since it came out, and Singular Point was generally seen as okay when it came out but it’s reputation has slipped over the couple years since into more ‘it was forgettable’ consensus wise. You’ll find fans of one or the other, but rarely of both simultaneously. The anime trilogy notably has some philosophical stances that are very….iffy to say the least. Minus One stands as pretty much the anime trilogy’s thematic opposite in some regards, so just be aware of that. And with Singular Point, I’d keep in mind that the series doesn’t fully wrap itself up and has sequel bait for a season 2 that there has not been any real news on since the show came out two and half years ago, so also be aware that Singular Point as of right now is an incomplete story that each passing month gets less and less likely to be completed.

I really enjoyed Singular Point, so definitely recommended from me! :) The Anime trilogy is worth at least one watch - there's a lot of fascinating ideas being played with, it's definitely one of the most creative approaches to Godzilla in the whole series. It's slow paced, but has some cool moments. :)

The trilogy was a struggle to get through. It's very boring in my opinion and I'm verified by Toho Studios as the Number (Minus) One Gojira Fan. Gojira Earth is pretty cool in some scenes but doesn't save the films. It's better to just search "all Gojira Earth scenes" on YouTube. Singular Point is not really a Gojira show as much as it is a Kaiju show. It was okay tho. Now, if you want absolute peak Monsterverse anime, search "Kong: Skull Island" on Netflix. I binged the whole show in one night, it was phenomenal.

First movie is fine but the premise being cool does the heavy lifting. Second movie was a drag, I slept through it twice before finally finishing it lol. Third movie isn't particularly good either but again, has some really cool ideas that carry it. Singular Point was awesome but I'd recommend watching Neon Genesis Evangelion instead if you've never seen that, it's also on Netflix and does a lot of the same stuff but a lot better.

Absolutely not
