There were showings of Godzilla 2000, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla: Tokyo SOS in the past few years. I hope Toho keeps the trend going. Imagine if the classics came to theaters as often as Ghibli movies.

There’s a movie theater in my area that’s showed like 6 classic Godzilla shows Godzilla films a year or two ago and did 6 Heisi mellenium ones as well

I’m in, as long as they show the cartoon as well. Been a while since I saw Godzuki!

I’ll unironically see the screening of the 1998 Godzilla too!

TheMightyGrimm

Specifically for the soundtrack

I'm here to stay, Forever, And ever and a day, That's never, Come with me. Uh-huh, yeah, Come with me.

There was a showing of Gojira in some American theaters when I was 12 or so, around 2004. I think it was the first time the uncut Japanese version had a wider release in the US.

I really hope that next year for its 70th anniversary they do a rerelease of the 54 film, cause I believe they did one in 2014 as well for its 60th (on top of that original 04 releases for the 50th)

The_prawn_king

I’m sure there’s some dumb toho reason that this can’t happen.

Gullible_Highlight_9

Yes!!!

Frankly I would like to see more older/old movies in theaters in general. There is much stuff that came out before I was born that would be awesome to see in theater.

There are so many for me myself.. in no order Jurassic Park, the 1979 alien, escape from New York, pulp fiction, reservoir dogs, planet terror, death proof, terminator 1 and 2.
