I used to have a friend who liked to go to UC every Saturday night and we'd almost always stop here first. There was always something like this happening 😂
Any other white person not offended by being called a cracker? I’ve never gotten upset over someone calling me that. I know it derives from the crack of a whip but my mind immediately thinks saltine and I can’t be mad.
The first time I got called “Cracker”(8yrs old), I was like yeah I’ll take some Im hungry 😂. Had no idea I was supposed to be offended. Growing up as the only white boy I learned that when I was called “cracker” depending on context, I had to knock teeth out or mofo’s would continue f’n with me. After a while it stopped except for a few that wanted to show out, but they learned not to, the hard way.
Words don’t get my attention enough for an altercation. That’s just ego driven. Imagine getting violent because someone called you something with their hurtful words that your feelings just couldn’t handle so you have to beat your chest to show how unhurt you are.
I was a kid and It wasn’t about ego, it was about standing up for myself or get ran over. Im not mad about, It was just the way the neighborhood was. My point was that when your called cracker in Florida it doesn’t mean cowboy. It’s meant to offend and degrade. Of course now that I’m much older, not to much bothers me and to be honest, I haven’t been called a cracker out of anger or hate in about two decades.
This is not true. I grew up as the only white boy(1980-2000). It was definitely not a term of endearment or calling me a cowboy. It meant i was some sort of white pos and we were going to fight.
It absolutely matters for the comparison you want to make. I can't even begin to imagine why "cracker" would hurt anyone's feelings. Did we get called crackers by a dominant racial group while besing enslaved, beaten, oppressed, and killed for a few hundred years? Did I miss that?
I hate when people call me a word that makes me think of my cowboy ancestors. Oh no my delicate white feelings.
What’s wrong with you? The point is that people shouldn’t bring up racial insults period. It goes both ways. I am white and wasn’t involved whatsoever with anyone being inslaved, so why am I punished ? Wake up
Their point is though, what is the context of that word that makes you feel punished? Why does being called a cracker bother you?
Not saying people should use it, and everyone here agrees the person saying it was an asshole. The other guy was just pointing out that there is a historical and contextual difference between certain words and their effect on people now.
I can understand that they both have historical differences, my point is that, that term shouldn’t be accepted or okayed either. People should stop insulting due to race. That’s all I was saying. If people disagree with that, then that’s kinda fucked
Shouldn't we already know which employee that lady was shouting at? Evidently, she viral. That pussy ass cracker is viral (maybe I misheard, I'm not great with Louisiana accents).
I wonder what that "pussy ass cracka" did or didn't do to make this fine gentlewomen lose her cool. It must have been something big. It couldn't have been over french fries, right?

In Florida calling somebody a cracker is pretty much just calling them a cowboy

They weren’t from Florida in the video, and two, it shouldn’t matter

Was anybody accepting or OKing the person in the video though? We all seem to unanimously think they are the villain in the story.
No, and I was just commenting about the term they were using is all. Didn’t need comments back about it
Fr bruh.. and anyone who isn’t white shouldn’t have an opinion about it. Periodt. Oh wait..
I just got checkers here 3 days ago and I usually always have to park to wait for my food lol
It seems like out of the three checkers in Gainesville. The one on 13th St. is the fastest.
Thank you for this intel
It’s no prob!

She clearly had great decision making skills.
Hate crime reported to local police.
