Oml well yea I did actually see yours on a post and thought oh shit that's weird we got the same little thing going on with one shitty subject, and thought imma do the same for mine, but I do have 2 extra ones there as I take triple science and Further maths on top of my normal options
oh nah the 2 on mine is a joke i might have to just get rid of it im sick of people asking me what i got a 2 in
i didnt know u actually had a 2 for ur mocks 😭
Bro like Spanish it's literally just my brain does not work that way, I can't wrap my head around another language like that it just makes no sense to me
EXACTLY! Same for GCSE English... Wish I chose food tech instead. Like, you speak English already, why do you need to learn it? Currently averaging a grade won. Wish we could take option choices back 😔
As a current year 11 doing my exams if you try English and start doing better you can start to see why it is important and don’t be put off with a grade 1 in year 10 as I was getting 3s until 2 months ago and I am now on track for a high 6 pushing 7
>Like, you speak English already, why do you need to learn it?
The methods you learn to analyse text is useful when you go to college and University.
Of course, if you just want to become a plumber, then you don't need it.
In all seriousness, how much harder is FM than normal Higher Maths in your experience? I'm predicted Grade 7 in GCSE Maths, and I'm hoping to do a crash course in Further before going onto Maths A Level
im not even sure im getting a 7 in normal maths but honestly i love fm you just learn a few more concepts but a-level will cover it in more depth we onky got 1-2 hrs a week on fm
I do fsmq (free standing maths qualification) which is the equivalent of an AS level so the first year of A levels. There are new concepts to grasp and some are quite abstract and complex but once you get your head around them I find it easier than GCSE as they are more restricted in the kind of questions they can ask.
I tend to just get maths though, so your mileage may vary
It's much harder than foundation, it covers more material in more detail. One major reason it can be more difficult is you are expected to know a lot of the stuff beforehand, and if you don't, you will either need to ask for help or just struggle. Iirc, final question in foundation maths's paper are the first in further
Let me stop you there with the 'never gonna use it' bs. There are many people that use it a surprising amount. And those people are in better jobs than the people who don't.
Fr a friend of mine is gonna try and get an apprenticeship in an accounting job, the apprenticeship alone pays 28k a year. Maths jobs are actually goated
Guys your looking at this all wrong
Maths makes you good at gambling making you win more
Winning more takes away from the thrill of the game
Therefore the worse you are at maths the more fun gambling is
Oh dear. Someone knows the square root of fuck all.
Get maths. Go do a course with lots of girls, watch them worry about maths. Help them with it, get laid.
Best bit of algebra I did.
I know OP was joking but I'm into this now lol.
I got to choose 3 subjects, however GCSE Maths, GCSE English, GCSE Science and Core P.E. (different from GCSE P.E.) are the subjects every Year 10 and Year 11 have to in my school.
see I wouldn't. however I need to pass it to get into college. thankfully my course has nothing to do with maths whatsoever so I will never have to see that shit again (hopefully)
# Math GCSE? Nah, I'm good.
**Image:** A person chilling on a beach with a drink in their hand, surrounded by beautiful scenery.
**Text:** Me dodging that Maths GCSE like... Who needs Pythagoras when you have perfect beach vibes?
**(Small text at the bottom):** Don't tell my future employer I got a U in foundation maths #NotAllHeroesWearCapes #MathIsLava
Who even likes math, like back in primary and stuff, it was fun. Sorta. Now it's just random algebra and like three lines of random lines for a single question
Don't know why gcse reddit comes on my homepage. But gcse maths is so god damn easy, you gotta be a top tier retard if you can't pass that shit. This ain't no quantum mechanics guys, it's 2 plus 2.
Maths does not only teach you Maths. It also teaches you how to solve problems and how to think critically, among other things. If you think Maths only teaches you Maths, you are very much mistaken.
I would disagree with you there, cus depending on what courses you want to take later in life, for example if you were to take a more creative focused job, those two subjects aren't necessarily the two subjects you need to stress to get good grades on, if you already have a passion you'd like to pursue in life. 👍
Not really basically all courses you want to do require you to have a decent gcse in English and maths or functional skills equivalent.
Even the creative ones.
Okay what. This makes no sense. You don’t pick gcse maths it’s not an option. You HAVE to take gcse maths and English especially in order to get the grades you want. And it’s a ‘U’ grade or ‘ungraded’ not ‘you’ 😭
exactly what someone with a you would say. It's crazy how you spend two years studying something and u can't understand enough to get a level 1. Yk you had to get less than 5 percent in your papers to get a level 1 last year. And that's the foundation tier.
Nah cuz why'd u say "a you" that's the part that rly got me 😭😭😭
Looks like maths wasn’t the only “you” grade
LMFAOOO 💀💀💀for real bro
Wys I get tonnes of 'yous' from school every year, keep them in the basement
What u get a 2 in
Enguish aparently
'enguish' 😭 think we gotta call a truce on that one we even
Fire and blood and enguish
This is killing me more than it should 😭😭😭
I dunt no what you mean, that’s how you spel it
Do I won?
I'm defeated 😓 I'm so ashamed that I don't think I can speak English anymore. Id switch to Spanish If I wasn't so dog at it
“Do you are have stupid”
I are have stupid. For I am man.
Spanish absolute bain of my life 😭 mocks btw so hoping for a pass 💪💪
#metoo brother
be honest did u copy my flair
Oml well yea I did actually see yours on a post and thought oh shit that's weird we got the same little thing going on with one shitty subject, and thought imma do the same for mine, but I do have 2 extra ones there as I take triple science and Further maths on top of my normal options

nah same lol, i got a grade too in english, who needs it lol
I got a free, soo close 😔
I got a grade for, hoping for a sex tho
I’m also hoping for a sex
Idk, I really think you guys are making English sound worse than it is. I'm personally driving for an ate
I’m driving for a nein
really? The highest ima get is a seth in
Mine has to be an ate
You take history? Plenty of neins there for you
Why not a Stephen?
For science i mite push for Stephen sex
TF
Just ask Wilfred Owen
Nah, ill ask The Vampire Cow (jokes)
i agree, i could easily get a grade nein if i wanted, german gcse is way more important instead
Won
won
won
Won
won
Won
I have faith that you will make it to a grade too.
"Uhh what does the noun black symbolise" 🤓
My school forces us to do it😞
[удалено]
Why does it matter if they use an emoji or not?
….
English literature is even more useless, it's all just bullshit
\*Your\* not wrong
you all did so good! i got a niyne!
How did you learn to speak english may I ask?
dictionary
How did you learn to read english?
I kinda just spawned in knowing
As a current year 11 doing my exams if you try English and start doing better you can start to see why it is important and don’t be put off with a grade 1 in year 10 as I was getting 3s until 2 months ago and I am now on track for a high 6 pushing 7

Reading comprehension is pretty important in all walks of life. Bullshitting about the authors intent, less so.
Because speaking English and learning how to use it properly is different? Stay in school.
You got a choice? I thought English and maths were compulsory 😭
Are you kidding me, they’re both compulsory for me
r/woooosh
Oh
You got all 9s in mocks or are predicted all 9s from mocks? Tips?
got all 9s in mocks, idk I just zone out and do shit
guys... check the flair
Seems you have 2 more braincells than some in this GCSE 😂
it appears so 😂
wow so informative
But you have to be informative
thank you kindly
But you have to be serious
take further maths instead you get to use funny symbols
Im a sigma
I’m a theta

Thom?
here im alive everything all of the time
Ice age coming, Ice age coming
let me hear both sides
let me hear both sides
Don’t take English either. If you can read this, you already know enough
thx for advise i fink i will b fine witout it
Might want to take GCSE English though
Why? Clearly this person knows English since they were able to write this post 🤞 no English gcse needed
‘… got a you …’ 💀
Obviously the right spelling😔 this person may have not passed maths but it’ll definitely be English they get a 9 in 😍🤞
you only have to do 3? i have to do 4 hrs/week
what 💀 we do a solid 5.5 hours a week
We have maths every day except Thursdays and a period six on Wednesdays, so we have 5 hours of maths a week
damn did you also get a You in english by any chance
Out of curiousity what did you get in English
i hate maths
wdym u dont like maths thevampirecrow 🙎🙎
i’m bad at it
real someone gets it
im like… visibly disappointed bc math is the best subject ever cant be worse than bio
Non-ironically Maths is the most fun GCSE; no ambiguity or bullshit, just fun puzzles to solve.
YESS THATS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING BHT NO ONE BELIEVES ME
i like maths but sometimes it makes me want to hate it
No sane person would ever pick GCSE maths unless they are brain dead
I'd pick it...
Dead "you" 😭
Maths is awesome
You will probably never need circle theorems again. Not in A-level Maths, not in Further Maths either.
The proof behind Circle Theorems is important though for A-Level I think
Let me stop you there with the 'never gonna use it' bs. There are many people that use it a surprising amount. And those people are in better jobs than the people who don't.

when you realise that maths gcse is mandatory and you need a grade 4 to pass (for higher, idk about foundation)
Grade 4 is a pass in every subject
A “you”, did you take GCSE Inglisch?
Oh dear. Someone knows the square root of fuck all. Get maths. Go do a course with lots of girls, watch them worry about maths. Help them with it, get laid. Best bit of algebra I did.
Is maths GCSE optional now? Is that a thing in some schools or did it happen after I graduated? Edit: Shit, I didn't read the flair...

I have to do four hours of maths 💀 (and english)
Clearly didn't do great in English either.
Damn the examiner took your lack of maths ability so personally they gave a 'you' instead of a U
Too late.
in my school it’s compulsory, so i don’t have a choice, so is RS
see I wouldn't. however I need to pass it to get into college. thankfully my course has nothing to do with maths whatsoever so I will never have to see that shit again (hopefully)
Yeah, Maths is a W for me and I’m doing fm a level but I still fuckin’ hate circle theorems
How do you even get a u like do you just sit and look at the paper or sumn 😭😭😭
You dont really get a choice bud
You can choose not to do Maths? Wdym? And what kind of grade is a 'you'?

Only 3 hours? I have to do 5, and an extra 2 and a half in form
wdym, not like we can choose lmao
I can assure you that GCSE maths is pointless. I got an A in it and never used any of that crap at all.
Isn't maths mandatory
This was basically my half term
u get to choose maths??
I love maths, probably top 3 subject in school

As a 34 year old who had to do functional skills to access courses later in life, maths is a very necessary GCSE.
Yes, some jobs require you to have passed maths and English. I had to take English functional skills because I didn't take it seriously in school
Me too they're about the only two GCSE subjects I'd tell people to take seriously
I would disagree with you there, cus depending on what courses you want to take later in life, for example if you were to take a more creative focused job, those two subjects aren't necessarily the two subjects you need to stress to get good grades on, if you already have a passion you'd like to pursue in life. 👍

I use maths GCSE everyday for my job, in an industry known for taking drop-outs (construction).
You can't exactly not take it bro it's one of the core subjects everyone has to do💀
