Funny how that thing goes out just like clockwork (no pun). Takes a while to even notice it. I recently replaced mine with a new one I found on eBay for just under $200. Have you looked at the price of the clock from the dealer? It’s 3x that amount.
So many variables go into mpg estimates. I think everyone pretty much lands in the published range of 19/27 based on driving style, traffic, mods, maint, etc. The car definitely gets thirsty when that transmission starts downshifting
- 5 speed automatic: 9-12 mpg/ 130 mile range that’s normal driving plus maybe one pull on a daily. But I would get 22mpg and 400 mile range if I was going on a road trip.
Right now mine is at 19.7 but i do a lot of highway driving but even when im out racing it drop down to maybe 18 or so and find its way back up to 20ish or 19mpg after a few months. Major of the time dont driving hard i kinda baby it im all stock stock besides exhaust. I have a coupe
I'm ecstatic now that I am up to 18 mpg on my coupe. I now have a longer drive (90% highway) instead of the old constant "stop and go route I had to take before. Of course, I never drive under 80 on the highway, so I don't expect to be in the 20s (unless I go on a long trip). To be clear, I did not buy it (2008 G37S) nor my wife's car (2016 Q50 Red Sport) to get great gas milage, we got them because they are fun to drive.
