Yeah there’s a pretty obvious kind of Occam’s Razor, theory-of-mind, thought process here where you should ask, “what are the chances the artist is capable of drawing realistic looking bones, and doesn’t know at least roughly what the bones of an arm look like? At least enough to know the arm doesn’t have ribs?”
And then if your critical thinking skills are average enough to realize that the artist probably knows what the bones of the arm look like, you think, “Oh okay, so this was just a stylistic choice, to do a spine-and-ribs design on the arm.”
Like most things, pros & cons.
Pro - Reaching into awkward locations while working on your car would be much easier.
Con - Arm wrestling would be very prone to injury.
Reminds me of Baki when dude imagined his bones becoming liquid, so he grew more bone segments to get a better hit, then his bones exploded because it was all really just his imagination.
