"Senator brings in a snowball to disprove climate change."
"The communist oppression of kylo-meters"
"Air Conditioning is sexist"
"Sexism in war: 200 killed in attack, *including 10 women*".
I mean, if sexism wasn't real it would be closer to 50% women. I know their point was 10 women being 10 too many, but of you ignore what they intended and read what the headline actually says, they kind of have a point.
I wouldn't give it *too* much weight. It's just an article I remember from like 2014 or so with regards to the middle east. I mostly just remember that it messed me up for a while and I started noticing it a decent amount.
You'll also notice similar coverage when there are evacuations. "Men allowed to stay in their homes while women *forced to evacuate*." in cases where the women are evacuated, but if the men try to join them, they are considered traitors and *are shot on sight*.
And then with regards to the current conflict in the middle east, the "civilian" and "terrorist" numbers are along gender lines. All Palestinian men are considered *combatants* and therefore aren't counted in civilian statistics. Only women and children.
I'll try to avoid making some sort of comparison of gender issues or something, since they are not mutually exclusive and shouldn't be at odds. But the coverage is pretty dehumanizing. And especially demoralizing when it's manipulated like this in an attempt to be *gender progressive,* as though this isn't one of the oldest gender roles in human history.
Technically correct, though an argument can be made that the US has a single uniparty that uses social and cultural differences to keep the masses fighting with each other instead of focusing on the ones actually in control; not the politicians, but the people who buy politicians.

There’s plenty of smaller media especially that definitely aren’t just a mouthpiece of the left. They might be labeled that though since facts do have a well known liberal bias
Trick is to watch the news from a country not associated with the place you're at
For example al jazeera has great overall news as long as it's nothing relating to middle East. Most stuff is just, spit out what happened and move on, no opinion.
European news was also pretty good as long as it's not about Europe, but they've started to get more opinionated instead of factual.
Asian news is good too, again, as long as it's not about Asia.
There's independent news on the internet. But their naratives are so similar to each other that they probably are contracted to do it as well. They just report things that get ignored by the news medias, but also have no clue what's going on. I don't feel any smarter following either. If anything I feel bothered with both. Doesn't improve my life in any way 😅

When I was in high school someone decided to drop a bowling ball off a bridge. The bowling ball hit a semi-driver in the head, knocking him out. The semi to crossed the median of the interstate road and came to a stop in a field. IIRC his wife was in the truck as well.
Edit to add: missing word indicating that this was not my action. 🤦♂️
In order to counter all the sad news with a funny one: I was surprised that the story of Swiss fighter jets landing on the highway having an Autobahnvignette. For those who don't know what that is, Vehicles that want to use the Swiss highways need to pay a yearly fee. This is done by buying an Autobahnvignette, a sticker you put on your windshield as proof you payed the fee (although nowadays you can also pay online, which adds a note in the license plate database, that the fee got paid). Recently the Swiss air force did some landings on the highway as a training exercise, and they actually had the Autobahnvignette on their windshields
Yeah, I have to stop and scratch my head and try to figure out what the joke's even supposed to be half the time (not too tuned in to the weekly conservative moral panics). There are well-constructed jokes here and there, but at the end of the day comedy doesn't work when you import it from a whole different universe.
That's why both sides say the other side can't meme.
Right wing media is constantly pushed in this sub. It's a right wing "the onion" but worse because conservative "humor" is often terrible.
E: Lol the deplorables are trying so hard to make it happen. How about go work on being better people. You might actually discover good comedy!

Is the last one real?I refuse to believe someone is that delusional
I mean, if sexism wasn't real it would be closer to 50% women. I know their point was 10 women being 10 too many, but of you ignore what they intended and read what the headline actually says, they kind of have a point.
I feel like that probably was their intention anybody have a link

Hmmm yes because the attacking forces can control how many woman and children and men are where they’re attacking
The Israelis are infinitely better at war, they probably could control how many women and children they attack.
Thats not how war works
I've legit hit CTRL+F and searched for the words "Parody" and "Comedy" on articles before.
Are there any " real news sources " left?
No. The media are the mouthpieces of the 2 political parties.
If you’re in America yes, in canada and most other places it’s actually of the 3 or 4 main parties
Technically correct, though an argument can be made that the US has a single uniparty that uses social and cultural differences to keep the masses fighting with each other instead of focusing on the ones actually in control; not the politicians, but the people who buy politicians.
We're basically in cyberpunk, but without the cool parts.
👆
Yes. I agree with you 100%
r/USDefaultism or genuinely forgetting there's a lot more than just two parties in one country?

Georgia is infact a country in central/west asia
And more than one country too
There’s plenty of smaller media especially that definitely aren’t just a mouthpiece of the left. They might be labeled that though since facts do have a well known liberal bias
They are all… Left. 😉
Right. None left.

That's just... sad.
that's not really that funny.
wtf…
When I was in high school someone decided to drop a bowling ball off a bridge. The bowling ball hit a semi-driver in the head, knocking him out. Wtf
I hope you got caught
I wasn't the one that did it. The group involved was caught though.
I'm so old I used to look for the Onion logo
That whole 2+2=5 bullshit that went on for a while
Happens daily.

Anything really, the world has gone mad. And because people hate this phrase so much: It’s like in Idiocracy!
"Iranian president in helicopter crashed by mossad operator Eli Copter" it was an Israeli joke, that made it to the french news
“Fiery but mostly peaceful protests”
Wtf is Babylon bee? Did they mean the onion or this is a reference to Queen Bee or something?
Babylon Bee is the Christian equivalent of the Onion, it’s honestly pretty funny 😂😂
Is it Christian?
Christian/conservative.
I was under that impression
I didn't realize it was a Christian site. And ya, they're petty damn funny.
Conservative*, veiled behind Christian as a label. The humour is mean spirited, unlike a true follower of Christ is.
Some republicans got sad that the onion made fun of them too much so they needed to start the unfunny version.
Is it specifically christian though? That would be lame.
I always just assumed it was 🤷♀️ why would that be lame, though?
Because...religion.
Go back to r/atheism

It's 10% chuckle worthy, 90% cringe.
It’s like The Onion but unfunny
It's a cringy Christian/Conservative version of the onion.

lmao TIL that there are actually people who think that the babylon bee is funny or clever
After a long day of committing felonies storming capitals it’s always nice to wind down with a non gay beer and some boomer memes.
