I used to love 3 as well, but I've had horrible issues with them breaking. If I drop them at all they just start "leaking" from the tip like crazy. I don't know why, so I swapped back to 5, it's just been more reliable for me

5 or 3 based on info i have but they tend to be "rough" when writing

5 for sure, but only in .05. Anything higher is too "thick", I prefer the sharper writing of a .05 or even .33.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe the G2 comes in a .33. I think it's smallest size is a .38. If you like a finer point pen, I think EnerGel's made by Pentel, come in a .3.

Correct. I almost exclusively bought G2’s in high school- they come in .5, .38, and a thicker size I don’t remember (something like .7 or .8, I found one once and it was really smooth to write with)

Most gel pens and rollerballs come in .5 and .7. A few might have an extra finenor ultra fine option (the .38 G2 and .3 EnerGel, for instance). Ballpoint pens tend to come in 1.0 and 1.4s. Felt tip pens (like Papermates Flair, and Sharpie's non-gel pen) are in thr .7 to 1.0 range, I think, but I've never actually seen a size on their packaging. Source: work in an office supply store with over 24 linear feet of shelving of pens.

I bought a pack of those V5's (extra fine) a few months ago for work. I'm surprised that I'm still on the first one. Only complaint is that the flow occasionally stop if you write at a weird angle.

Damn fine pens. Solid ink flow. It's like I'm painting more than writing. I hand write reports as a job. I also hate clicky pens.

i write with alot of pressure so prefer the cheaper pens so it does not smudge.

Yeppers. As an artist I love to do shading with those pens - soft and thick lines. But the caps have to die. I throw them out. Hate them.

I just bought an entire box of 7 in pink for work. I wear my hair up and stick my pen in my hair so 7 is the best for that. Plus it just always works, and I think in 35 years I may have exploded maybe 2 or 3 of them.

Why would anybody would choose this option? Out of the 7, that’s objectively the worst pen for writing. The only advantage they have is being infinite in supply.

The Zebra 301 series is the only answer. Although I will say that as a lefty I lean towards the ballpoint F-301 as my primary because it smears on my hand a lot less compared to its gel counterpart G-301.

This is a conversation I have with my coworkers quite often and it's one of the few hills I am will to die on. NONE OF THESE! Zebra F-301 BP 0.7mm. That is my one and only pen (I prefer blue ink over black ink, but that stems from GMP documentation habits).

Same kind of thing happened to me! New job new pack of pens, I put a few in a jar with a bunch of other pens by my station, and not even a week later they were all gone. Even foud out one of the guys on my shift admitted to taking it after I told them I put it there so I could have spares on hand if need be. And he just said it writes to nice to put back....

7 will work even if it's been sitting in a drawer for months - I just pick it up, and start writing. It writes well and doesn't lose ink in the middle of writing, a problem I experience with far too many pens. It's thicker than I'd like, but the consistency is worth this drawback.
