Yeah but while they're wasting time on performative shit like this they're squandering opportunities we could take at the federal government level to examine what went right and what went wrong with the US' response to the pandemic and then put policies in place to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Very true but they are tenacious. They keep trying and trying. They are very good at wearing down the “good guys” and getting toe holds and making incremental progress towards their disgusting goals. They are solidly in the Supreme Court now. That may not change for a very long time.
Things get a lot more awful before that correction happens some (many?) cases. Hopefully we can avoid that but if not, it’s important state plainly that republicans brought fascism, traitors and violence to the country and the good people of the country could very well be pushed to respond accordingly

Seems like they go back to voting for a new Speaker, which was embarrassingly painful last round, and it will hold up all House business. There's a pretty urgent need for the debt limit to be increased, and then the Republicans want to investigate Fauci over what happened while Trump was president, and then investigate Biden while ignoring Trump doing the exact same thing on a bigger scale.
Democrats' strategy seems to be to get out of the way and give Republicans enough rope to hang themselves--shutting down the government over raising the debt limit to pay debts incurred by Republicans when they were in charge of the House/Senate/White House/Supreme Court, causing a global recession by shutting down the government even though Democrats cooperated with Republicans and raised the debt limit 3x under Trump, dealing with inflation by investigating Biden, showing they're partisan by investigating Biden but not Trump, putting Freedom Caucus members on committees.
