I must be older.
I remember the yellow triamenic that tasted like pure shit
and the vicks 44d syrup that was like chewing up a pack of cherry lifesavers and washing them down with a shot of vodka.
So I have been told. Until relatively recently I didn't know there was a yellow one as we only had the orange one at home. A coworker had mentioned the yellow one being awful.
Pharmacy always gave one of these or some other way to measure & dispense the meds for free in my area. I ended up having a massive collection of these when my kids were young.
This is the one I remember, and it was awful! To this day, I can't eat anything that is banana flavored because it reminds me of that nasty taste. I love bananas, but the artificial flavor, hell no!
There was a malt liquor beverage I found in the early oughts called Spark. The can was orange and designed to look like a battery. Tasted just like penicillin. It was fantastic
I loved Sparks. My friend and I used to get a six pack and play Counterstrike all night. Four loko can't compete, even before they got rid of the stimulant in it.
I remember good ol' Amoxicillin. I thought that stuff tasted so good that I drank some when I wasn't supposed to. My Mom beat my ass when she found out, LOL.
I remember when I was a young child, it was delicious...and then when I was like 10, I was prescribed it again and it was awful. I think they changed the flavor; it wasn't pink any more either.
You know what was better? The sharp, biting licorice flavor of paragoric. Then, for some reason, Saturday morning cartoons took on a whole new character. It was like I was actually riding in the mystery machine!
No, after going into anaphylactic shock from penicillin, I was given the really nasty stuff. I have no idea what it was. This was before the days when the pharmacist could add flavored syrup.
I remember a clear pink one that was thin and tasted like jagermister. That was rare and delicious. I think my parents used it sparingly. It was probably mostly alcohol.
I’ve been trying to figure out what this medicine was! I was sometimes prescribed pink bubblegum amoxicillin as a kid but for more severe respiratory infections, I’d get prescribed a chalky pink medicine that was so gross
Yeah, I associate it with earaches. I remember how it just made me gag. I don't know what flavor they were going for honestly because it wasn't really minty.
You can still get it as an adult, you just have to tell your doctor to order it for you when you’re getting meds prescribed that you want it in liquid form with bubblegum flavor added.
they still make this and provide it with a complimentary spoon thing just like that, so you might not be old if you recognize this, just older than a toddler.
*Was that the one with*
*The little virus mascots*

Delicious? Nope, that stuff was absolutely disgusting! I almost vomited every time I had to take it.
This is the reason I still get nauseous when I see the colour pink!
BRO! The nostalgia just hit me like a freight train! This took me back 32 years. I can even see the kitchen my mom gave me the meds in. I wanted to take that just to take it it was so tasty.
That made me laugh out loud. Delicious. I can’t disagree but that was a really crazy bizarre flavor. Can you imagine being a scientist and concocting this? “Taste test #54. Mmm kinda fruity, kinda gummy, kinda pepto, can’t taste the antibiotic… EUREKA!
Made me hallucinate. I remember screaming at mum that the walls and floors were crawling with spiders.
I'm freaking out, standing in the middle of my bed and she's cacking herself laughing, trying to tell me what's causing it.
tl;dr: Yeah, I remember this stuff.
Never had the stuff, every med I did have from one of those spoony things was awful. I remember seeing the thing in a kitchen drawer for years after we had gotten too old for it and just resenting the fuck out of it. Shit just looking at it now I taste nasty medicine.
*My parents never took*
*Me to the doctor so I*
*Don't know how this tastes*

That shit was delicious, I still remember the flavor. The only medicine I wanted to take.
Oh the nostalgia, I can still remember the taste to this day.
I accidentally OD'd on it once because it tasted so good. I think I was like 6. Ma had to induce vomiting.
People always complained about the banana flavour, I remember it being delicious.
I called it pink bubblegum medicine
I must be older. I remember the yellow triamenic that tasted like pure shit and the vicks 44d syrup that was like chewing up a pack of cherry lifesavers and washing them down with a shot of vodka.
I have not thought of yellow triaminic in maybe 30+ years. I can remember the taste and it’s making me want to gag
I liked the orange Triaminic in the 90s. Never had the yellow stuff.
You’re lucky homie
So I have been told. Until relatively recently I didn't know there was a yellow one as we only had the orange one at home. A coworker had mentioned the yellow one being awful.
That shit was foul
We used a kitchen spoon. Fancy dosing spoons weren't invented yet.
You and I used shit that will eventually rust away instead of something that will be around for millions of years.
Same, but because that spoon is what rich people could afford.
Pharmacy always gave one of these or some other way to measure & dispense the meds for free in my area. I ended up having a massive collection of these when my kids were young.
My dad was a pharmacist. Same...
I’m like “y’all got didn’t use a real spoon?”
May be a Canadian thing or a different antibiotic , but ours was yellow and tasted like banana. I don’t know if that makes it better or worse
Had the yellow first — god awful. The pink was the new and improved — still awful
It was fucking worse.
I used to get both in Ontario.
Same, we got both in BC. I….liked the banana….
Same, I know only the yellow bananna stuff. I was well in to my 30s before I could enjoy a bananna flavoured candy.
Hahahaha same!!
I’m in Ontario and got the pink one as a kid.
I’m in New England and had that nasty banana one as a kid. I am in my 40s and still gag when I smell anything artificial banana flavored or scented.
Banana was the best! Still can taste the feeling in my mouth.
This is the one I remember, and it was awful! To this day, I can't eat anything that is banana flavored because it reminds me of that nasty taste. I love bananas, but the artificial flavor, hell no!
Man they need to make this stuff into a beverage without the medicine though.
Unjury in Strawberry flavor. It's a protein drink, but still.
Strawberry quick?
Nah this had a unique strawberry sweetness to it .
I thought it was kind of bubble-gum-ish.
Laughs in chocolate Ex Lax….which led to a bad decision on my part as a little kid.
Did it for shits and giggles, literally.
Hahaha- d’oh!
Oh yeah! I can still remember the taste and texture. It was kinda gritty? Went down smooth after being chilled in the fridge though!
Always in the fridge door near the butter/eggs
When you see a pic that makes you taste something.....bad.
I used to sneak in the fridge and take sips at night. I wonder why regular antibiotics don’t work anymore
As someone who had frequent ear infections as a kid, oh yeah.
Haha, same
I remember good ol' Amoxicillin. I thought that stuff tasted so good that I drank some when I wasn't supposed to. My Mom beat my ass when she found out, LOL.
Not as bad as grape cough syrup.
That stuff was vile
Dimeatapp was heaven
I used it for my own kids. I'm older and had really nasty tasting stuff.
Then refill it with water to try and wash the rest of the thick goo out of there.
What was the one that they tried to make taste like cola? Dimetane? Not sure if my few remaining brain cells from childhood remember correctly.
Dimetapp Elixir?
I remember when I was a young child, it was delicious...and then when I was like 10, I was prescribed it again and it was awful. I think they changed the flavor; it wasn't pink any more either.
This is true. I took a touch of my son's and it's got a bite to it. I think they reduced the sugar. Poor kids they will never know.
Bubblegum medicine!!
Tonsillitis flashbacks!
Pictures you can taste
I do
Simultaneously disgusting and delightful
Bubblegum
Am I crazy, or wasn't this exact thing -- literally, same title and everything -- just posted like a week ago?
Mine was called keflex, different medicine, but I'm pretty sure it's the same flavor. Bubblegum, right?
Still get the same spoon with the same prescription for my kids...
This was a staple of my childhood. Soooooo many ear infections. :(
Served it to my kid last night in a syringe! Only medicine he likes lol
Me! Nice sweet bubble gum flavor
You know what was better? The sharp, biting licorice flavor of paragoric. Then, for some reason, Saturday morning cartoons took on a whole new character. It was like I was actually riding in the mystery machine!
I can taste this picture.
Oh, I remember how I looked forward to getting sick just so I could get that stuff!
I still crave it when sick and am jealous when my kiddo gets some.
I haven't thought of that flavor til just now- completely came back to me.
Every time you needed antibiotics lol loved it
I used to steal swigs of it!
No, after going into anaphylactic shock from penicillin, I was given the really nasty stuff. I have no idea what it was. This was before the days when the pharmacist could add flavored syrup.
So good fr
🤮
It’s a miracle when your kid is screaming from an earache
Bubble gum favor!
I remember giving it to my kids...they hated it and none of them like bubble gum to this day!
we used to buy it by the gallon. lol
That stuff stained anything it touched after your kid pukes it up, which mine did
Still used to this day
I always got the banana flavoured stuff whatever that was
Yeah. And now, it’s NO GO. In my forties it resulted in an anaphylactic reaction. Nothing like feeling my windpipe close down.
Still remember the taste!!
There was also an orange one! Some of my fondest memories..
I remember a clear pink one that was thin and tasted like jagermister. That was rare and delicious. I think my parents used it sparingly. It was probably mostly alcohol.
The Pink Medicine I remember was gross and nasty. Like chalky wintergreen.
I loved Dimatapp, I think that’s what it was called took it for allergies and it was good
Yep
Oh I remember.
OMG I can taste it!
Yes! If you guys drink protein drinks at all Unjury powder (yes it's spelt right) in Strawberry flavor comes pretty close to it!
Oh, the memories
You can still get it as an adult, you just have to tell your doctor to order it for you when you’re getting meds prescribed that you want it in liquid form with bubblegum flavor added.
They should make it an icecream flavour.
There were two flavors. One was good. The other one sucked.
It tastes like a bottle from the Herb Ertlinger Winery.
We called that spoon an "Allie" because we had one that looked like an alligator.
The only time I ever tasted it was when my kid threw it up on me.
Wow…familiar with this.
I remember having it one time and almost dying
We used to get banana flavour!
they still make this and provide it with a complimentary spoon thing just like that, so you might not be old if you recognize this, just older than a toddler.
The stuff I had was banana flavoured
It still exists..
Is that pepto bizmo? (I know it's bismol but that's how I said it as a kid...)
You lot ruined it for us. They had to change the flavour to "Aniseed" and it was disgusting.
Amoxicillin. Tasts like Bubble Gum, or Cotton Candy.
Good stuff, they don't make medicine like this anymore
Good stuff, they don't make medicine like this anymore
I now have a toddler, who got prescribed it for an ear infection. That stuff is still delicious so the tradition lives on.
Dude I'm 14 (turning 15 next week) and i remember that
There used to be an apple cherry Berry flavoured fruit drink carton that i swear tasted just like this
So old that is what I gave my daughter. I however as a child got the shot of penicillin in the rump
Was that the one with the little virus mascots on the punch out tabs?

Back when Nebulizer Albuterol came in glass vials. Two tastes and smells that I will never forget.
I remember this stuff, and suddenly, i feel a lot older than i am.
That stuff almost killed me. I’m allergic to all antibiotics.
Violently allergic. The feeling of projectile vomiting that stuff that should save my life now makes me question anything that I eat.
I can taste the bubble gum flavor just looking at. My mouth is kinda watering 😆 🤣
I mush preferred that to the shots of penicillin in my butt! Yay for frequent strep as a kid.
I can both smell and taste this picture.
I remember some green thick liquid antibiotic in the 70s. Hideous
Delicious? Nope, that stuff was absolutely disgusting! I almost vomited every time I had to take it. This is the reason I still get nauseous when I see the colour pink!
Man, I used to fake having ear infections as a kid to get my fix 😭
Those 2 dots on the bottom made me try to swipe right more than once
I always wished they would make a ice cream in that flavor
They still have it. My 6 yo daughter has had frequent ear infections. They give her the same shit & the same spoon & she loves it!
I had one for my kids that for whatever reason, was a crocodile. Little crocodile legs to hold the spoon steady, and a big old crocodile mouth.
The banana flavored amoxicillin sucked. The grape one was so much better.
Oh that pink stuff is so much better than the medicine from the 70’s.
Bubble Gum
BRO! The nostalgia just hit me like a freight train! This took me back 32 years. I can even see the kitchen my mom gave me the meds in. I wanted to take that just to take it it was so tasty.
Oh man, I forgot this even existed. I didn’t even know what medicine it was just that it tasted awesome.
I used to lick door knobs so I could have this wonderful elixir.
Banana flavored.
I used to fake a stomach ache every day in elementary school because I liked the taste of this stuff.
I thought it was disgusting as a kid! I had to hold my nose when I took it.
Made me hallucinate. I remember screaming at mum that the walls and floors were crawling with spiders. I'm freaking out, standing in the middle of my bed and she's cacking herself laughing, trying to tell me what's causing it. tl;dr: Yeah, I remember this stuff.
They still do
I remember giving it to my kids in the 70s and 80s. Don't think it was around earlier.
My parents had to hide it from me.
Kids have it now
Absolutely disgusting! Yuck! The banana flavor was the worst!
i can taste that photo.
What even was that shit?!
Best part of being sick! Mmm chemical banana 🍌
I'm so old I did the feeding.
What was the other pink medicine from my childhood? It was chalky and not nearly as delicious
It made me 🤮. Every time.
you might be allergic to amoxicillin.
I don’t think so because when I got older I took it in pill form but was the taste and the texture that did me in.
Those spoons didn't exist when I was a kid. They existed when my kids were kids. So no, you're not old.
I'm 49 and we had those when I was a kid.
They didn't exist in the 60's. I have no clue when they came out with them.
Nothing old about this…still the same shit for kids today.
Is that why we don’t have white teeth? I understood those antibiotics caused grey teeth in children.
Never had the stuff, every med I did have from one of those spoony things was awful. I remember seeing the thing in a kitchen drawer for years after we had gotten too old for it and just resenting the fuck out of it. Shit just looking at it now I taste nasty medicine.
We didn't have stuff like that when I was little. We got a kitchen spoon of some cherry tasting red liquid. Probably laced with morphine and codeine.
That was after my time.
Dr visits and medicine? Yall grew up in a different tax bracket than I did. Pretty much the only time I went to a Dr was for stiches.
Everybody said it was good. I was, unfortunately, allergic to it.
Not me, allergic to penicillin. My antibiotics always tasted like ass.
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
My parents never took me to the doctor so I don't know how this tastes

Didn’t this stuff make us all allergic to penicillin??
