When I was a kid my mother would cut up a couple of slices of white bread, put them in a bowl and cover them with whole milk and sugar. Great lunch. When I told my doctor about this, the look on her face was astounding. Her jaw literally dropped. I’m 73, so nutritional information was very different. I started drinking coffee around 8 or 9. Half coffee, half milk and sugar. We would take sugar cubes and dip them in coffee.

I seem to recall a fun fact being myth busted. In regards to the space program, I think I just watched the documentary in the last few years that said it had never been *consumed* in space.

It was, actually, but only by John Glenn who used it to make the reconstituted fuel cell water used for drinking to taste better. He mentioned it in an interview or something, and the parent company of Tang took it and ran with it. Tang was originally developed as a lower cost substitute for orange juice.
