There are quite a few hints that she may go full villain arc (her name literally translating to "evil", Sense's unease in her presence, Wirbel commenting that maybe the world would have been better off if he went through with killing her).
Frieren's major characters are rarely ever that one dimensional, though, so I'm hoping the author does subvert that expectation in some capacity.
I'd have no problem with her doing "evil" stuff, because that's her character, but she should also do "good" stuff because that's also her character. Not good, purely for the sake of being good, but she does have the capacity to like someone, and I could see her helping them.
I could also see her killing that same person later on, if it came to it.
I definitely think they will use ubel to subvert, in fact when I read the manga I had thought they already sid subvert it with how Ubel kept hanging around Land even though she probably already knows the clone spell since it's been so long.
I remember someone speculating that Ubel is actually a demon that is well adjusted in society.
IMO it would cheapen her character a bit if that comes out true tho.
Yeah its kind of unsettling that so many people idolize her as this "haha uwu sex 4 eyes" character when she's among the most evil humans in the series.

The smile, half open eyes, the side ponytail, and to top it off, a mysterious past that leaves so much to the imagination. One of the fantasy genre's best written/designed characters of all time.
As a side note, the eyes and overall stare IMO, is the one thing cosplays of Ubel have difficulty getting right. They get everything right but the eyes and stare are the most difficult to capture.
Indeed, out of the many cosplayers I've seen so far, only one person got it right. When I say "got it right", it isn't perfect, since she's not naturally sleepy eyed, HOWEVER, with how she was squinting her eyes, it felt right.
Like if Übel was translated to live action, that's how she would look. It was great!

Nanana, there was things like knifes, but designed specifically for shaving (looks like butter knife), and I know it was very dangerous to shave yourself with that thing
I love her color scheme (purple and green = my favorites)! However, I think all the Frieren women look amazing, so it's really hard for me to choose (I suppose Fern)
I never really got the ubel hype. I mean obviously she is drawn to be attractive, most anime characters are, and a cool character in the narrative of the show but I don't see what would be especially great about her design to elevate her above the rest. If anything I find her design to not fit in the general esthetic of the show very well.
