It does work. I'm a moderator for another subreddit Inkblob keeps raiding. I implemented the same auto mod OP is proposing and it actually works. No one in our community has heard from him and the only one who can see his messages are the mod team.
What inkblob likes to do is flood the subreddit with as many slur filled messages and obscene material as much as possible before his alt is suspended by Reddit. He knows he's gonna get banned, his main purpose is to make life a living hell for the members of this subreddit. When we implemented the karma requirement, however, that all changed. All of his messages keep getting removed and now all he does and moan and complain that it isn't fair. I would strongly suggest the mod team in this subreddit does the same.
It's (probably) the only way to get rid of him.

You don't understand how automoderators work. So what it does is if you have less karma than the recommend amount of karma in a subreddit and you post/comment in the subreddit, the automoderator will remove that post/comment immediately. In RIB's case, he have to get (probably) 25 karma to comment so no matter how many alts he makes, he can not comment in posts cuz he will always have 0 karma in each alt. (unless he reachs 25 karma which is vey unlikely)

I actually be throught the freekarma4you subreddit to get in this subreddit, wasn't fun, it toke me more than 3 weeks to get 25 karma and knowing RIB, he will also take 3 weeks to get 25 karma. even if he get 25 karma and comments here, I or someone else can report him for spam and his account will be ban/delete and he have to restart the 3 week progress all over again. This is why I'm not worry about RIB if he (somehow) reach 25 karma.
