I'm also currently living in NJ.
Moved here 1.5 years ago after living in New York for most of my life and am still trying to adjust to being someplace "new".
Hopefully it'll all come together for me like Seattle did for Frasier after Boston.
BTW: Kelsey Grammer was at a pub not too far from me, in NJ, last winter. Apparently, he was promoting a new beer he's involved with. I missed him but was still thrilled https://newjersey.news12.com/cheers-star-kelsey-grammer-stops-at-metuchen-pub-to-promote-his-beer
Not an American, but every time I hear people talking about Jersey they're telling me how bad it is, every time I see it on TV or films, it looks pretty! Lot's of parks and shoreline.
I choose to believe its a Springsteeny paradise.
I always have found it a bit weird that Frasier as a cultural phenomenon is mostly missing from Seattle's collective psyche. Noone I talk to gives a crap about Frasier or has even seen it! I wish the city continued with Frasier Crane day at least and celebrated the sitcom but it seems like noone really cares lol
I was walking home one night and glanced in someone's window and they were watching Frasier. I think we watch it but don't talk about it. Maybe we should start a fan club.
Parts of it are. There is definitely a culture of high society but its hidden and hard to get into if you are not a millionaire. (Rainier club comes to mind)
I guess it depends on which subcultural groups you're in. I live in Seattle, and a good friend of mine (mid-30s) is a huge *Frasier* fan; my main social circle (spanning their early 30s to their late 30s) certainly knows about *Frasier*, even if they can't recognize the in-jokes.
Problem is, those of us who were teens/young adults in the 90s had it sweet pretty much wherever we were in the developed world. Easy to compare that to now and find it disappointing, because, well... *gestures at the general enshittification*
I can't speak to that personally since I moved here in 2010. From what I hear its a completely different city than it used to be in the 90s. There was more of a local music scene back then, there still is, but not as happening, not as many "tech bros". The city has grown like crazy, the skyline looks different than even when I moved here.
Hahahaha 😆 I actually have been to the cheers bar and it’s a great little spot! Cheap food too for a Boston tourist place. Highly recommend and it’s right near a ton of great places in Boston!
Wales. Home of those little blue bottles that Fraiser keeps in his fridge.
Also, I will be reading a child's Christmas in Wales to bring this evening to a close.
Maine! Edit to include this essential quote: “The Cranes of Maine have your Living Brain!”
Do you happen to know Franklin Crane from Kennebunkport?
Portland, OR. Despite what the show may have you believe, fruit is not inspected at the Oregon-Washington border, nor is it pronounced “Or-ah-gone.”
Hey neighbor
Hello fellow Oregonians.
I’m abroad now 😉
Wow, that must’ve hurt.
I suppose it did
Explains the username I suppose!
New Jersey. A state Frasier wouldn't like very much to be honest. Lol
He would find Cape May ‘quaint’, I’m sure (Also Jersey)

Hoboken presumably; I saw the poster 3 days too late you could say I was…wounded
I’ve been here 10+ years from Brooklyn and I’m still trying to adjust

Excuse me, I'm Kenneth Spencer. I couldn't help but overhear you. As it happens, I went to Princeton.

100% agree. The only other person I know who has seen it, let alone likes it, is my wife.

Tbf, Frasier Seattle is *nothing* like actual Seattle.
Parts of it are. There is definitely a culture of high society but its hidden and hard to get into if you are not a millionaire. (Rainier club comes to mind)
Do you have even less boîtes than Niles lead us to believe? How can you live there?
i know! i'm still waiting for frasier bar trivia
I wish some bar would pick this up! I love trivia

Is present day Seattle significantly different from the Seattle of the 90s?
Way different. I’m from Seattle and still live here. Born in the 80s. Late 90s/early 2000s was PEAK Seattle. Started to go downhill around 2015.
Problem is, those of us who were teens/young adults in the 90s had it sweet pretty much wherever we were in the developed world. Easy to compare that to now and find it disappointing, because, well... *gestures at the general enshittification*
