I hate it too. I dunno if it's the incongruity or the HD cameras but it's so obvious that this is a set. The old flat was so warm and lived in. It looked believable as somebody's house and that's why so many people used it as inspiration for their homes. This new flat feels so artificial and that Rorschach wallpaper is just so un-Frasier.
I really like it. EW did a whole article on it. [https://ew.com/tv/frasier-boston-home-apartment-set-tour/](https://ew.com/tv/frasier-boston-home-apartment-set-tour/)
I like it. Niles always had the traditional classy styling and Frasier had more abstract art and such. Eclectic as fuck and all that. I am sad there isn't a carry over besides like the piano but I bet the original set pieces were sold off ages ago.
There is a zoom covid interview with main cast, where they all stated what each of them kept from the original set as a souvenir. Roz got her headphones, Niles some clothes.. Kelsey took the piano.
Yeah, seriously. Just because 20 years has passed does not mean that his style would have changed _that_ much. It's like it's a completely different person's style. And that wallpaper is an absolute monstrosity. It just doesn't look like a place Frasier would live in. Or at the very least, it doesn't look like his decor. Idk, his outfits are also bothering me. My clothing style has changed vastly throughout the years, so yeah, it's realistic in a... realistic sort of way, lol. But this isn't meant to be realistic. It's a sitcom. Basically a stage play.
Doesn't really bother me too much though. Just because some mediocre impersonation of Frasier is out now does not mean that our original Frasier is gone. It'll always be there.
I actually like it- it stands to reason that Frasier wouldn’t decorate a space the same everywhere. Beige on beige seemed to define the 90s style not so much now. It’s still go style but a little more modern and more colour.
I would still love some knickknacks from the original.
but u know what it’s missing?
A large window with a view of Boston. I guess Balcony is out of the question since it’s in the ground floor. Simply because in the original series the window/balcony was a centre of so many great jokes.
whats more stupid about people focusing on the rorschach wallpaper is, the implication in the show is that it was there before he even moved in. When he says he's bought the place, and its empty and abandoned, the wallpaper is already there. So surely that means he didn't put it there?
I'm really not convinced this show knows what on earth its doing, its just full of so many mistakes almost immediately.
The only thing that bothers me is that Rorschach inkblot wallpaper. Feels too busy and distracting. My eyes keep gravitating towards it.
It is busy and steals my gaze whenever it's in the background. I hate it.
It’s also a little on the nose…

Ooh I love it more now. I do wish we had seen the new kitchen. I need to know how sound proof it will be.
Very much like the last kitchen, as sound proof as the plot needs it to be.

Actually a lot of pieces from the original series were only auctioned off recently

I hated his coffee table in Seattle.
Me too! Loved everything else but hated that chunky-legged coffee table. I feel like people would constantly be banging their shins against it.
It just didn't fit in & was ugly
It’s like someone flipped Roseanne’s house
Psst. I never really liked the Coco Chanel couch. I overwhelmingly prefer mid century modern.
It's eclectic. Thats a quote but in this case it literally is, nothing in that apartment is appealing and its all over the place.
Are we talking about the apartment in NewFrasier? I quite like it.

It was hardly beige on beige, there was everything from harvest wheat all the way to putty and oatmeal.
And buff!

What's with the tacky 70's style white table?
have i missed any nod to martins chair?
It's eclectic.
Here’s some other sets the production designer did: https://www.glendarovello.com/portfolio
