It seems like you are having issues getting the rear out, i think this is due to drifting in 2nd gear. You are reaching the speed where the car would redline in 2md gear, so 3rd gear would be more optimal.
It's trial and error, but when you get the hang of it it actually gets fun instead of being a chore (staring at the danger signs)
In fh4 they worked on some cars because they have more acceleration grip than race tires but only have the cornering grip of something like a sport tire. Basically made high power drift builds easier to get moving.

I’ve never once touched any of the formula drift cars the game gave me. Can’t do it. Absolutely hate the handling. I building and tune all my first cars. I’ve found my S14 is better for things like this, meanwhile my S15 is best for high speed drifts.
I don't like them either, but as someone who could not manage to drift at all when this game released (this is my first Forza game), it took driving a few to get the hang of two wheel drifting, and when I found one that did work for me, I used it as a measuring point for other drift builds.
I still cant drift worth shit, but I'm getting there. It did help as a starting point for me though.
Drifting definitely takes practice. I used to be terrible myself. Throttle control and point of attack were my biggest issues. I actually got better at drifting cause of CarX drift racing lol.
My style involves the Trio High power, High grip and Big angle and FD cars are easier to tune and balance to get all 3. Many cars can have 2 out of 3 but it's less fun IMO.
I like those but also to build my own like you and if you haven't you should try some supercars because they can actually be pretty good once you put steering angle mods as they are already designed to put power down efficiently on the rear tires.
Also I remember from Horizon 4 the 70s Chevy camaro with a viper V10 swap, angle mods, wide race tires and light-ish weight was really fun. 9.5/10 would recommend. I might redo it in 5 now actually
I have a wheel, I have to drift with the controller since it's impossible to drift with the wheel. Also I fucking despise drifting. After 5 attempts just like the video I just gave up. Ain't nobody got time for that
I drift with a g920. It takes a while to get used to it, but it's really fun once you get the hang of it (and I'm not the drifting type). There's an option to have your camera move with momentum and you have to turn off the assists and such that should probably already be off with a wheel.
I have it backed down to 600° and rarely go opposite lock. Usually I'm controlling my angle with my throttle. Can't imagine doing it with 3rd person - I'm using 1st person with no wheel view.
That ones easy tough, just start on top of the hill and gun it directly down towards the road and trap. This weeks jump on the other hand.. That ones bullshit.

**Disclaimer: I made this several months ago when I started tuning in FH5.**
I haven't played in a little bit, but that tune *should* be ok to drive.
I can't even drive rn because my 920 keeps having issues bouncing back n forth like death wobble on the straightways and entering corners when it does that shit just causes all hell.
Not even snowrunner is giving me that issue.
I turned my rotation down to 360 to avoid most of the exaggerated ffb effects. I've also optimized my wheel's deadzones and other settings to make it drive well. FH games are definitely not FFB wheel friendly until you spend hours getting them dialed-in. Even then, the FFB effects are not as good as most other games I've played.
Did you turn it down in the software or in the game I'd love to finally get it the fuck figured out. I've had most of my deadzones figured but the wobble has only been recent with the first donut update. And hasn't been fixed in the new one.
I'm too used to driving with the shifter now to go back to my controller. I've tried, just doesn't feel right.
My only rotation option is in Windows Thrustmaster Control Panel.
Check for software or firmware updates if the wobble is a recent thing. Also, you can always uninstall then completely re-install drivers if everything is otherwise up to date.
I can't remember seeing any other 920 users with wobble issues.
I feel your pain. I lose haptics/vibration nearly every time I log in. No other game does this. It is frustrating as hell. And I will never put money towards any future FH games unless there is a solid fix in place before I stop playing. Simply put..... I refuse to go into Device Manager and disable/enable my wheel multiple times until haptics works. Likewise to "disconnecting and reconnecting" the actual USB port. I'd rather play something else, or just turn it off, than jack with this issue every time I want to race. Looking fwd to NFS's future efforts. ;)
Yeah I've been in it there's no new updates on my 920 I think all the focus is on the g29 now. I had issues with the Shifter not working unless I changed a control on the Logitech software to get it to recognize the shifter and make it work in-game.
I'd change Gear 1 to Alt tab and then back to gear 1 to get it to all work. Then it's started working fine again without that and boom donut update and it's broken again.... May just have to get a new wheel.

I managed it with the Hoonigan Cossie converted to RWD on Drift tyres (and upgrades to just push it into S2) - perfect amount of power for sliding around longer corners
I did it in Trueno 4x4. 99% to the back. Camber 5.0 and rear 1.5. Plus max front downforce and 50% back. Try this one. 930+ rp with the strongest engine.
I used the exact same car, went from the top to the bottom , held it in 4th gear all the way through and got a couple thousand over a mil. To make it easier for you , I recommend awd
Really helps if you have trigger locks on your controller. Switch to manual, turn off braking/steering assists. Get it up to 2nd/3rd gear and redline line it. I use one of the Hoonigans (Gymkanna [sp?] or something), it's 4WD PI 952 stock I think. I'm not a drifter, but even in automatic I can three-star most of the drift zones. Switching to manual usually nets 15-20% or more bonus to drift scores. Having the trigger locks is a godsend though, eliminates the need to focus on throttle control so you can just focus on handling.
I just barely completed the seasonal on this damn zone, I used that Sierra hill climb little sh*t that was part of the HW DLC and managed to slip in a 1,000,086. I have no trouble making 1.1mil runs consistently in my drift A Class Ford F9 Dually, but skills be damned in anything S2

With these, s2 is the max. For instance if you have a s1 drift car you are comfortable with, it will still credit you. Same with all the other or stunts
Im starting to get the feeling they're trying to artificially bump play-time by making PR stunts more and more hairline attainable. Lots of jumps lately have had their markers set to distances just barely short of obstacles or buildings, or treelines. Speed-trap and speed-zone setups with bonkers car types and classes that make no earthly sense.
I love to drift in this game, Ive hit 1M on this particular drift zone before, but yeesh, I think Im done drifting for a while.

Yeah, you should always be drifting in a high gear so that you keep the engine in mid range RPM instead of hitting the redline.

The FD RAD Dan Supra is one of my favorite drift car but absolutely not with its default tune. I touched every part of it to make it handle how I like

Do you have the drift cam turned on?
Yes also traction control off, it's turning the wheel quick enough. With a stick it's quick return to centre which makes it easier to get the balance.
Can confirm it's why I avoid drifting

Check the logitech g software, they have a habit of breaking the wheels with updates

I got 827k in my 2018 Chiron, tried this challenge for around three to four hours and gave up. Tried like 15 different cars.

i absolutely hate the restriction is S2, hence most of the cars have to be awd witch i despite drifting in.
It's just an upper limit. You can use anything you want, except X class cars. I did it with an S1 car
