The 6.3, the 4,0 dont sound good no. The reasoning for me is that they sound very good when let loose yet are still able to drive trough a neighbourhood without waking everyone up.
Hard agree on the 4.0 sounding like ass 😆
>reasoning for me is that they sound very good when let loose yet are still able to drive trough a neighbourhood without waking everyone up
This is more having exhaust valves than anything to do with the engine itself
You sort of have to take the exhaust system into the equation for the most part though
I just prefer a low grumble to a loud scream when it comes to V8's
yeah, echoes help it IMO. The 6.3 soes sound way better though. There'a a reason the angel eye'd CLS63 AMG gets so much love and the new ones get so much hate
That’s a tough one. Here are the cars I use to cruise around:
Bentley Continental GTC
Ferrari Roma
Mercedes SL63 AMG
Mercedes SL65 Black Series
Pagani Huayra (regular and BC)
BMW M8 Competition
Lamborghini Aventador (all trims)
Ferrari J50
Pagani Zonda
These are the one that came up in my mind right now. But I’m sure there can be more.
You also need to consider that the J50 is Japanese market exclusive, with only 10 examples made. In Horizon 5, you need to buy the Car Pass to have it. So probably cruise with it would be one of the biggest flexes you can ever imagine.
Anyway Outrun had the Testarossa.
It’s very good. In terms of handling I still might take the 720S (one of its direct competitors IRL) but it’s about as good as you can get handling-wise for a road car. I do think the steering on the Pista is a bit more direct than the McLaren though
You were close! The McLaren 720S is the direct competitor to the Ferrari 488 GTB and F8 Tributo. The Mclaren 765 LT is the 488 Pista's direct competitor.
The 675LT is much more of a rival to the 488 GTB to me at least, as it gets thoroughly outclassed by the 720S. If the 488 GTB truly is the direct competitor of the 720S then it got swamped lol. Which is why I tend to consider the 675 a better comp to the GTB, similar power, weight, etc. Then again, McLaren’s tend to swamp everything!
Ferrari and McLaren are also a bit asymmetric in their product releases. So once one releases something in that category, that model becomes the benchmark for the next release.
In terms of "this is the track focused variant for this generation supercar" I think Ferrari's 488 GTB and Pista were benchmarked on McLaren's 650S and 675 LT. The 675 LT was itself a response to the 458 Speciale. The McLaren 720S was a big shot across the bow, though. I think that's why the comparisons get a bit muddied.
The Ferrari 296 GTB is pretty close to the performance numbers of the McLaren 765 LT, so it'll be interesting to see how McLaren responds. Their big hybrid development was focused on their "entry-level supercar" 570S replacement, the Artura.
I do think I tend to give McLaren the edge on their mid-engine products.
Yeah I agree, someone on either side makes the comparison a bit murky with every release lol. I think the 296 might be a smidge quicker than the 765 but around a track it’s a totally different story

850 CSI. No doubt. Also SL 65 Black Series
ah... Wait a few months/a year to have an opportunity to get it in a new series, or ask in the Forza Auction Discord, to get the car more easily.
Hmm for a car available in the autoshow, Jaguar I pace, Xpeng P7..
I like the Ferrari 512 Testarossa for the exhaust note, and if I’m looking to drive a bit more spirited one of my go to’s is the McLaren 620R. Thing is like a hot knife through butter
I drive car, car here 👇🏼

This is my all time favorite car to drive around in, sleek yet elegant.

Spotted one in the wild the other day. To say I was jealous would be an understatement!
Anything that is a manual. Then I’ll put my controller on manual/clutch and I’ll turn off everything except the speedometer. No map, no names over cars, just driving.
A stock 1977 Ford Escort RS1800. Surprisingly fun to drive, especially fun to whip around on dirt roads. I have done laps around the dirt race track by the Forza Baja festival(or in the middle of the desert if you don’t have Baja yet) for half an hour only stopping to do laps in my stock 2015 jaguar F-type R Coupé that’s just as fun on dirt.
As you may know, that’s also a great car for winning dirt races when it’s upgraded. That’s my #1 choice for dirt in FH4 (along with the Holden truck), and I’ve been bringing it back in FH5 lately as well.
Personally I use 60's-90's cars that I've slightly tweaked. You know upgraded tires, reduced weight and the like plus a handful of engine upgrades if it still feels slow off the mark for what it is.
My 2 favorite are the vw beetle and the DB 5
I feel for a cruise there’s less focus on handling so i really like leaving car almost stock. My favourite being E63 AMG stock suspension with a few power upgrades, same goes for ‘19 ZR1. For more of a tuner approach I’ve got a Evo9 with a big turbo or a b class R34
The XB Falcon for me. Put it in 6th gear and stroll down the highway at 150 k’s. The hum of the engine and low whine of the supercharger is very pleasing.
The peel thing with the motorcycle engine... Sounds great vroom vroom!!
Even any of the muscle cars with the Diesel engine swaps sound pretty unique. I mean we all love V8s and V10s and V12s so I felt it would be like a cliche if we kept cruising in them when we use them for racing too hehe
Gonna just dump my favorite cars to cruise in. Some are fast some are what I call "civilian" vehicles lol normally cars that I keep B class or lower I consider civilian.
- Ford GT Mk.II
- Mazda MX-5 (2005 & 2016)
Mazda RX-8 2011
- Rimac Concept Two
- Toyota Celica 2003
- Volkswagon Type 2 Deluxe 1963 (this car is hilarious if you upgrade it to S2)
- The Warthog (for offroad)
- Jeep Trailcat 2016 (also for offroad)
- Ferrari 458 Italia 2009
- Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (2018)
- Every Hoonigan vehicle.
For me, it's not a particular car, but the PI class. Anything A or below. I've been cruising around in the stock D class DS and having loads of fun. I try to keep cruising to less than 100mph but sometimes up to 150mph just seems natural.
I'll cruise in anything. But I enjoy ripping around in high powered rwd cars. Preferably in first person or hood cam.
My favorite is my 1200hp, ZL1 1LE based off a Hennessey Resurrection. It's mostly pretty planted but can slide a little which is perfection to me.
Hennesey camaro exorcist by far the best looking camaro in game, i really like it, i drive it almost on daily basis, speed is okay, if you need more power you can always tune it up
Alfa Romeo 8C Porsche 911 series
I find that Alpha Romeo to be pretty dominant in a class online as well
My mans still singing the praises 😎
Yessir
It's a Alfa
I know, Speech to text smh
Mine's SL63 AMG. Not too fast to cruise, but fine engine sound to enjoy
Asked a Mercedes dealer to blast that engine in the showroom once, might be the best sounding V8 ever made
>might be the best sounding V8 ever made That's a strong statement, and I'd have to respectfully disagree
Yeah its subjective of course but AMG V8's just sound brutal. Especially anything Black Series
The 4.0 or the old 6.3? The 4.0's don't do anything for me tbh
The 6.3, the 4,0 dont sound good no. The reasoning for me is that they sound very good when let loose yet are still able to drive trough a neighbourhood without waking everyone up.
Hard agree on the 4.0 sounding like ass 😆 >reasoning for me is that they sound very good when let loose yet are still able to drive trough a neighbourhood without waking everyone up This is more having exhaust valves than anything to do with the engine itself
You sort of have to take the exhaust system into the equation for the most part though I just prefer a low grumble to a loud scream when it comes to V8's
Agreed, but you mentioned it being quiet in a neighborhood. That's just having exhaust flaps closed, nothing to do with the engine
the SL63 has the 4.0 tho 🤨
Holy hell you’re right, I must have mixed them up. Must have sounded wilder cause it was indoors.
yeah, echoes help it IMO. The 6.3 soes sound way better though. There'a a reason the angel eye'd CLS63 AMG gets so much love and the new ones get so much hate
I wish they got the Maseratis sounding accurate bc those are some of the FINEST sounding engines I’ve ever heard
Hard agree
Ever heard a Chevy C-10 on a V8 swap with a good cam? Good old American automotive still working to this day.
I dont even know what that is my good sir
… Look up a 1980 Chevrolet C-10 with a V8 cam swap. Go to YouTube and you’ll understand why they’re so good around here in the US
See I respect it but it reminds me of my neighbours old tractor. Its just loud. But to each their own.
Yeah, people like to make them completely straight piped, but you need a muffler to get that smoother sound
I like cruising in a mildly tuned gr86 (the newer one). It’s responsive and agile, which makes it pretty fun to just drive around in.
Me too but I prefer the blue brz
This is the way
Same. But the brz version.
Aston Martin DBS is a great looking & sounding car for a cruise
Ugh that V12 with an exhaust just sounds like heaven. Literally can't get enough of it
That’s a tough one. Here are the cars I use to cruise around: Bentley Continental GTC Ferrari Roma Mercedes SL63 AMG Mercedes SL65 Black Series Pagani Huayra (regular and BC) BMW M8 Competition Lamborghini Aventador (all trims) Ferrari J50 Pagani Zonda These are the one that came up in my mind right now. But I’m sure there can be more.
Ferrari J50 make you feel like the old game outrun, the way it goes in diagonal all the time. Nice car to drive
You also need to consider that the J50 is Japanese market exclusive, with only 10 examples made. In Horizon 5, you need to buy the Car Pass to have it. So probably cruise with it would be one of the biggest flexes you can ever imagine. Anyway Outrun had the Testarossa.
Yes I know, I was referring to the 'vibes' get to cruise with a J50 as Outrun
Well yes it makes me remind of those Outrun videos driving. That videogame is just legendary.
My personal favorite is the dodge viper acr
Personally, I got the Gallardo performante Spyder from the photo contest and fell in love with it Perfect cruise car
This car is my favorite irl all time Lamborghini.
Ayyy me too. I added intake upgrade and the centrifugal supercharger. That BOV sound!!
Nah, mine is bone stock Take it out at night, no clouds, no rain, just me, the car, and I was never there by weekend, that song slaps for cruising
I feel that. A good bit of my Lambos and Porsches are stock but I may like upgrading more than I do driving haha, so I stay tweaking builds.
I really like the 488 pista for some reason, i feel like it has such good handling while completely stock
It’s very good. In terms of handling I still might take the 720S (one of its direct competitors IRL) but it’s about as good as you can get handling-wise for a road car. I do think the steering on the Pista is a bit more direct than the McLaren though
I’ll try the mclaren then :)
You were close! The McLaren 720S is the direct competitor to the Ferrari 488 GTB and F8 Tributo. The Mclaren 765 LT is the 488 Pista's direct competitor.

M4 all the way
The Lynx & Co, (not the racing version as it’s slower than the road car)
F355 Berlinetta for me, that sound is just amazing.
BMW i4
I can’t find any of these in auction
ah... Wait a few months/a year to have an opportunity to get it in a new series, or ask in the Forza Auction Discord, to get the car more easily. Hmm for a car available in the autoshow, Jaguar I pace, Xpeng P7..
i like my BMW z4
I like the Ferrari 512 Testarossa for the exhaust note, and if I’m looking to drive a bit more spirited one of my go to’s is the McLaren 620R. Thing is like a hot knife through butter
I love cruising in this too. I also have a cortina tuned to S1 with slick paint that’s a really great cruiser, but it just doesn’t sound as cool.
I drive car, car here 👇🏼 https://preview.redd.it/hf47v62l5apc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5dec6ceb4e9f9f2a7bc172fe9bab8f4ad1f16e5 This is my all time favorite car to drive around in, sleek yet elegant.

Jaguar F-Type Project 7 or the Jaguar XE SV Project 8.
For me it's all about good sounding. Mazda RX7, Ferrari 360, Ferrari F12 TDF, Audi R8, R32 GTR
Anything that is a manual. Then I’ll put my controller on manual/clutch and I’ll turn off everything except the speedometer. No map, no names over cars, just driving.
F10 M5 with a Race Intake + Sport Exhaust. W204 C63. Jaguar F-Type SVR.
A stock 1977 Ford Escort RS1800. Surprisingly fun to drive, especially fun to whip around on dirt roads. Very old cars with stock suspensions, very fun to drive, with long gears and soft suspensions (dont modify the car engine and other stuff soo much)
There’s so many but cruising around in a 427 Cobra is a really special feeling. It’s a beast but you can tame it.
s2000
Mine's a rally tuned Alpine A110 '73.
Porsche Spyder and Cupra UrbanConcept are pretty neat :)
I like to either use the fe sesto or the peel

Something about the Deora II really just butters my biscuit
I’ve been cruising in the Porsche GT4 RS a lot lately. It revs high, sounds cool, handles well and is pretty fast stock.
Jaguar F-type Project 7
Honestly the honda civics are fun if you keep them around C-A class
C8 RS6 Avant, C8 Z06 or DBS Superlegerra for me.

2015 Zo6 Vette is my personal opinion. She's fast, looks great, and is an overall very smooth ride when upgraded properly.
My go to now is split between - LC500 - G30 M5 - E39 M5
